I'm a little less of a hardcore fan than I was, say, two months ago, but I still follow the scene closely. Girl groups, mostly, but it didn't stop me from attending Super Junior's concert when they came to Brazil. Like madvanced, I was brought into this wormhole by SNSD's Oh! !!! How was Super Junior's concert? I would have loved to attend! It seems like a large majority of the people I talk to (including myself) have started off with SNSD. They were so energetic and the songs were so good live - they even sang an Ai Se Eu Te Pego cover, in Portuguese and all! I was impressed. If you ever have the chance, don't waste it. SPY is really something else with powerful subwoofers. Crazy jealous right now! Do you have any male groups you particularly like other than SJ or are they more of a side thing? It's something about the voices that doesn't let me go in too deep, see. I've always preferred female vocalists. What exactly made you branch out, though? I was introduced to K-Pop through SNSD but then kinda dropped it for a while. When I re-entered it was through BIGBANG's Fantastic Baby. That and the fact that I prefer more hiphop, R&B, and rap more than bubble pop. To me its more chill at times but can be up beat at others when I want it.
