Another band that might be of interest is Switchblade Symphony, though they are closer to dark wave than goth:

My music preferences are pretty much all over.  I like house, disco, EDM (electronic dance music), 50s jazz and swing, big band music, and rock.  I also like a lot of early 90s songs...they remind me of my childhood, and have a lot of sweet house roots  :3

Any fellow house or EDM fans here?  Or am I the only one?

EDIT: Since my thread merged with this one, I'll elaborate a little.  My favorite band is Daft Punk.  I almost have all of their albums on iTunes.  I'm getting pretty into Madeon, and I was into Deadmau5 for a while, too.

It really depends on my mood.

It really does.

I can listen to everything as long as it not Rap (there are some exeptions) or Popular s**** and RnB crap (No exeptions here).

But I prefer Electronic Music like Trance, Chill or liquid dubstep.

Stuff that just makes me feel relaxed.

I'm not into Vintage or older musics.

House is nice at the disco, but i can't listen to it on a daily basis

Looks like I accidentally necro'd this thread by making a new one...it merged somehow  O.O

I forgot that European countries still have discos.  After the 70s they pretty much went belly up in the US.  I guess you could say clubs replaced them, but they don't play the same types of music, at least I don't think they do.  If you want to listen to club/house music, at least where I live, you pretty much have to go to a live concert.

Types of music i like are in the signature. I also like some american rap and hip-hop, and i like house as well. I can listen to a lot of music if i'm in a good mood.

The only type of rap that I can stand is the stuff by Macklemore : /

The power of the Mods.

What I mean by disco was clubs : They still play house in clubs. David Guetta for example is House and is played in many clubs.

Or maybe that's not the kind of music you meant by "house"

Ahhh.  Discos here pretty much means places that play disco music  lol  Seeing as disco is pretty much dead here (and I know Eurodisco is still kicking), clubs don't play house, at least not traditional house.  They play stuff from artists like Calvin Harris and Swedish House Mafia and Martin Solveig, which I guess is technically progressive house.  I tend to think of traditional house music as stuff by Modjo, Daft Punk's earlier work, and Cassius, pretty much 90s house music.  I like both traditional and progressive house, but I think of the 90s stuff first whenever anyone mentions house.

I've always been into rock and alternative, thanks to my dad- he was the one that got me into bands like Green Day, Metallica, and Pink Floyd. I still listen to all of those, although my favorite band at any given time changes pretty often. Right now I would have to say it's Nirvana, though, with Foo Fighters in a close second. My tastes sort of branch off of each other, since I find new stuff to listen to based on whatever I already like- that's how I ended up checking out Foo Fighters. Although, I may have been a little late getting on the Nirvana bandwagon.

Other than that, my iPod is probably about half rock/alternative, and half anime music. These are my top five songs:

my favorite genre is Reggae, its all about them good vibes, i dont think there is one song i didnt listen to yet, and thats coming from someone who loves gore

This is definitely something that i can find myself listening to when i'm in a peaceful mood. Reggae is pretty sweet when i'm in the right mood.

Also when i'm in the right mood i find myself listening to classical music.

I'm surprised to see no fans of j-rock or J-pop. My favorite genre is J-Rock and my favorite band is called "One Ok Rock". They are a steady rising band in japan and have recently announced a tour to america. To bad I don't live there. On a side note I love Vocaloid especially Gumi.

I see another fan of One Ok Rock...Nakama  :D

im also listening to J-Rock's like SPYAIR and Back-On

Rock, metal and its sub-genres.

I mostly listen to instrumental stuff like Joe Satriani, Jason Becker, Michael Lee Firkins, Marty Friedman, Timo Tolkki and so on.

I don't have a favorite song or piece, but Marty Friedman's Scenes album is flawless.

I also listen to a lot of classical music.

Mostly Vivaldi.
