This was to be a contest of sorts where everyone submitted their banner every few months and then voted on their favorite. And it would BE OPEN TO MALE AND FEMALE CHARACTERS. The only two skin options would be a character-less banner skin, and the character skin. What you guys have come up with kind of takes all the fun out of this by just letting everyone do whatever. This, that's why I said I shouldn't be the one making a Kud banner, just replacing Mare with Kud is the easiest thing ever, but I think it'd be better to do something a bit more interesting than that. I'd much rather prefer the actual logo altereted as least as possible since it's Fuwa's original logo. I think picking a character makes it fairer for everyone. I thought the point of this was to decide a character not decide on the prettier logo design. And a rule could be made so the same character can't be picked for X weeks/months. Since an actual poll (with the poll option) has a limited number of choices. I suggest you let everyone post who they want to vote for and then account for the total votes. An extra rule could also be that you can't vote for your own. Don't think anyone cares about being anonymous. The main issue with this method is that everyone could see who people voted for right away so this can make things biased. But then again you can also do that with a regular poll so.. yeah. But sure they can edit the character, that was never in question, I'm just saying no to editing the actual logo. The rules should be that you can edit the character sprite to your will obviously as long as it doesn't cover the logo or makes it hard to read. This however does not disregard those who just use a regular sprite. All I did was add a boarder around the subtitle so its visible on the black background. Rest is just about picking the sprite and positioning it so it looks smooth. After all it is an image you see most of the time when refreshing page etc so it can't be flashy and overdone. Ill probably end up changing it back to Mare for my browser with a greasemonkey script anyways, since I'm already too used to it xD (well that is unless something I like wins, like Kud for example [so flutterz, do your best xD]) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

We support Gravity Green 2013, IP.Board and IP.Board mobile. No additional themes are going to be created. Themes-issues are often a headache for me when doing board upgrades, and I'm not interested in adding any more at this time. Proposal: Competitions to be held semi-regularly to change the forum's top logo. Rules: Entries should be around 354px by 90px and must include the title "Fuwanovel" and the sub-title "Make Visual Novels Popular in the West", but font, styling and design are up to you. For those who want to use the classic Fuwanovel title and sub-title styles, we'll provide a transparent version of the stock logo's title/subtitle. Again -- free to be creative about the text. No pornography, excessive female cleavage, female nipples, nor sexual content allowed. Logistics: Entries will be taken for, say, a week. I understand this squashes creativity though so I see where you're coming from. I'm fine with either but just wanted to get that out. I have one question though: Are characters restricted to certain mediums (like only VN characters) or is any 2D character (drawn anime-style) okay? The reason why I said the font is up to the designer is two-fold: we aren't going to lose the logo, and I can imagine people doing really cool things with it. Imagine a Clannad-style logo, or a FSN-logo with the Fuwanovel part done up in the style of the game logo? Would be cool, no?
