jjm152 Posted January 14, 2015 Share Posted January 14, 2015 I made an account just to ask this question: I want to back the kickstarter project at the level where you get all 3 games plus chiruchiru, but I can't tell from reading this thread if there is a clear disposition on the adult content in this game so I'm wondering if I should just wait and see instead. Basically, if I back now - will I be getting the localized japanese PC release of the game with the eroge intact, or not? If the answer is not - then is am I going to have to buy again if they do release a version with the eroge? I pretty much just want to play the "normal" eroge version of each game. Given what's going on with the 18+ versions, I don't know if "other" refers to them or the Max/Linux versions b/ Sekai doesn't wanna be associated with Denpa at all. My guess is they are waiting til the actual kickstarter ends to make sure kickstarter doesn't pull it for starting to talk about an 18+ version. I am in the hopeful camp that they won't redact on these words either way Frontwing's President decided to thank the supporters (it also explains why it got delayed initially...the anime), here's what he said for any interested; "First off, from the bottom of my heart I would like to thank all supporters for giving us this opportunity. Honestly, I was surprised that there would be so many supporters overseas. As you know, before this project began, Grisaia no Kajitsu was of course made into an anime. As a child I was a big fan of anime and it was a dream to be involved in animation. That is why I always dreamed of having one of our works be turned into anime and be able to work with the people involved in the anime industry. I wanted to be excited to the point of my hands shaking with excitement as I waited for such a work to air. The animation of Grisaia no Kajitsu aired in Japan and overseas with English subtitles at the same time. We've reached an era where overseas fans could also enjoy works such as this at the same time as Japanese fans. With everyone's support our games can also be spread further as well. The Grisaia trilogy is a long story and when making the animation many wonderful scenes were cut. I think it's wonderful that with the translation of this trilogy, many of you can enjoy each of these episodes. Please look forward to Sekai Project's efforts. When the campaign started, I would refresh the page each time and I was pleased to see the number of supporters grow. Though there was trouble in the beginning, we've managed to get towards the end of this campaign. Although I am relieved, there is also a sense of melancholy. With less than a day left, I look forward to seeing how many users our games will reach. The Grisaia trilogy is a representative title of our company but we have many other titles as well. Considering the support we received, we are looking into the possibility for overseas users to enjoy these other titles. Other publishers in Japan have also taken notice of what we're doing. As I sit before my computer screen, I hope that the large number of users who are supporting us will serve to be a good example to other companies. Once more, I give a wholehearted thanks to all users who have supported us in this campaign. I wonder how many potential sales from people who only want the 18+ version they're missing. At this point, if you're only interested in the 18+ version, I suggest you don't back this or you pull out. There's no guarantee that you'll actually get what you want. I would recommend against doing this as there is plenty of evidence where will be getting an 18+ version. Denpa Soft has already said and from the recent post by Frontwing's President about bringing other titles westward as well you have to realize besides grisaia and their other series the only all ages title they still have is time leap which was for 360/ps3. The rest of their titles are 18+. I imagine that we'll be seeing an announcement of the 18+ version releasing via denpasoft probably at one of the upcoming conventions (more news I mean). Even if it doesn't this still shows other japanese companies that the west does have an interest in visual novels in the west. So I urge you to keep your pledge for the future of visual novels in general plus just wait and see. cancel if you must. What's the rush, why try to get in on the kickstarter now if what they currently have to offer isn't what you want? Or at least they might clarify a bit. You might not want to fully consider it a lost cause. They could announce something at this panel and it would be well within their time table...it also explains why they haven't really been answering tweets the last day or so probably been busy. if you want visual novels for porn that's your prerogative...I prefer story and characters (sex can easily have its uses beyond porn but very little story/character development occurs in Grisaia's sex scenes...at least for the first game...they've also said they plan to release it so not sure what the deal is) I am interested in checking out new content; so I'm backing both versions. That's not well within their time table, that's cutting it so close it's irresponsible. It takes a while for information from an offline event not many people know about to diffuse onto the internet. I find it hard to believe they'll use that panel to employ very time-sensitive marketing strategies. Although it's such an incredibly bad idea, it's almost believable. They haven't been answering tweets today because everyone is busy at the expo. Pretty poor planning on their part to schedule the end of the project for today. To be fair, Grisaia tells nothing important during the sex scenes that couldn't be told in a toned-down MPAA R rated version. Sex is a major plot device in many stories, yet they always stop short of actually turning it into extended pornographic sequences like VNs do. It's not censorship since they are still releasing the other version if it gets funded...also it's more kickstarter's fault than Frontwing's in this instance. They've allowed other eroge to be kickstarted, even stuff with no all-ages versions. I don't know how you can say it's more KS's fault than Frontwing's. Well, that would be pretty deceptive since the 18+ version was declared as something that would happen no matter what, as long as the base goal was reached.
