Request: Seisai no Resonance

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure how welcome is request topic here, but according to what I have seen with that typical clipboard-translation-chain (which was horrible), this is the best Yuri visual novel ever created. According to art, I believe it's originally aimed at male audience, but it is still soft and romantic. It is simultaneously a magical fighting game. Main character is female and she's very cute and by the clipboard-translation seems quite feminine too.

Anyway, don't find this as a massive beg. Find this as a notification that there's something damn good out there worth your translating time, because I know what I'm talking about and I know some of you will love what they see or hear about it.

Stop spamming the forums with this please. This is not the right section first of all, and secondly, asking for translations here is not allowed.

That's true but you don't have to be mean about it astro, I'm sure she/he didn't know about that

Which is why I am telling him. I was being polite about it, too, and said "please." I don't know what you consider to be "mean," but I am not being hostile in the least.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Can you then please tell me where I could make these requests? A request board or some person open to requests. I searched on Google without much success. Found some translators that haven't been active in a few years.

I was talking about spamming, i dont think he meant to spam When he upload this thread

He was posting the exact same thing in multiple forums. "I don't think..." is not a valid argument, so please at least attempt to get your facts straight before trying to bring up a point. Stop being confrontational for no reason. Thank you.

Long story short, you can make translation requests but not many will care.

As a matter of fact, this could be the right section. Downloads and Requests is more geared towards translations that already exist or whatever else- if he's trying to convince translators to start a project, this is just fine. The section description is  "Talk about visual novel fan translations here" and convincing people to start one doesn't seem too far-fetched from that. There may be some dissonance on this, though.

Asking for for a fan tl is totally fine. It doesn't go against our guidelines to try and convince members to start a translation, people should just be aware that fuwanovel itself is not a tl group.

About posting the same thing on multiple forums, well, I just saw a bunch of people redirecting the guy to a lot of different places. They said that "this is not the right section" so he posted elsewhere- I didn't went over this in great detail, though.

Just to remind you that it isn't a sin to be a newcomer, I often don't read all of the guidelines of a site I go to to ask one single thing.

Also (and completely unrelated) "please" doesn't make a phrase polite. I'm fairly sure if I went to someone and said "stop being an annoying douchebag, please" they'd have the same reaction as if I said it without the "please"~

That is completely unrelated, because you are comparing my statement to a slur of derogatory terms - of which I did not use.

Also, from what I understand, you are supposed to gather translators from the Skills Registration Thread and start your own project, instead of requesting someone else to do it for you (that's what I was told when I first joined). Finally, let's face it, no translator is going to dedicate up to a year of their life working on a game for somebody else (for free, at least; and especially not if their client's reasons are simply that they want some "lovely Yuri" to read over the holidays). If a translator wants to work on a game, he will work on it without all these requests posts.

Oh, I wasn't really trying to compare your statement to that, I'm sorry if I gave that impression. It was in fact completely unrelated, I just said that the logic behind "I said thanks, thus my phrase is polite" is kinda messed up. Just small talk~

You can gather translators from that thread, but you don't have to. It's supposed to make finding translators easier, not to be the only way to do it. Making a thread like this is fine as well, even though it's not optimal.

Regardless of what you or me think a translator will do, anyone is welcome to try and find one. Making a thread to convince people is fine, it doesn't go against our guidelines and therefore is legit.

It's not when the statement in question really has no "impolite" connotations to begin with.

I apologize for my misunderstanding then.

Where are the guidelines by the way?

If you really want to keep pushing that button, the logic behind "I said thanks, thus my statement was polite" is still messed up. As you said, it's not impolite when the statement in question really has no "impolite" connotations to begin with- the thanks does absolutely nothing there.

I did a bit of cleanup.

Long story short, it's technically okay to request a translation in this section if you want to, but there's 99,99% chance nobody will care, because translating VNs is so long and strenuous. So learning japanese or going out to recruit people yourself (which will be quite hard if you don't fulfill a role in the TL) are your options if you really want to read that.

Isn't someone in the yuri project working on it? Or is the translation dead?

http://wiki.yuriproject.net/seisai_no_resonance

There's 3 lines translated. Don't see much hope for it.

This vn looks awesome and I'm probably going to download it sometime soon.

Sadly no one will probably care to start a translation project for it.

The art looks pretty, though. I'd love to apply as graphics editor if ever a TL group picks this up.

I'm pretty sure there would be translators willing to help, too. You really just need a determined leader who would recruit and manage the project. Perhaps start with one dedicated translator. Once you've found a translator, find a hacker. After that make an official recruitment post here on fuwa and your project will start making decent progress in no time. A lot of translators on the skill registration thread have too much free time on their hands, and I'm pretty sure some of them would be willing to help translate a pretty visual novel. You can make all that possible, you just need good leadership skills, and perhaps a good understanding of the VNTL process.

also I don't see a point in arguing over a TL request post. I've seen a lot of them and it's not really *that* bad to see them every once in a while. It's not like the entire subforum is packed with requests, anyway. Best thing to do if you don't like request threads is to not read them in the first place. Just ignore it and everything should be fine. Some people would actually read those posts, and they might even get interested with it as well. To be honest I think it's good having these kinds of posts sometimes since there's at least some activity going on. Unlike the irc, which is pretty much dead most of the time whenever I go online.

I was redirected to a thread recommended by a user. It's as if I posted in the wrong section so someone redirected me to what they believe to be the right section. So I don't think "posting the exact same thing in multiple forums" makes a valid argument right now. I was not spamming, which is quite obvious by default.

As the matter of fact, I've just got someone interested. They can't do it at the moment for multiple reasons, but they're interested. Please take note that I said "Find this as a notification that there's something damn good out there worth your translating time(...)". Just because it's a request doesn't make it a bad game.

(to avoid grammatical misunderstanding with non-native English speakers, "they" can replace "he/she")

Looks quite great! I hope they started recently which means they didn't forget ^-^ Yahooo!

Well, that page was put up around 6 weeks ago and only 4 lines have been translated. Also, Yuri Project's translations are really mixed. Some of the SonoHana games are alright but you see edited machine translations crop up quite often. And nobody commits to anything that isn't SonoHana. Such is the nature of wiki TLs.

They must be busy. You don't just give up on the project you cared enough about to start it. Or at least I hope so.

Well, you say that, but it doesn't take much effort to start it either. Yurirei's translation was started a year ago, about one or two dozen lines were translated, and then all activity stopped almost as soon as it began. Of course, the TL quality was abysmal so most likely someone thought that it would be easy with a machine translation, saw how much effort it would actually take to edit even a machine TL, and bailed after a single day.

Oh well, nobody's perfect. In the future, you should read the thread title before posting, though. That would've made it blatantly obvious that your post did not belong there in the first place.

Well, good luck then, but I'm telling you to not get your hopes up for good reason. Many people who arbitrarily pick up translation projects drop it not even halfway.

Keep in mind that translating a game is a lot of work - and even that is an understatement.
