What's the worst anime you've seen?

I forgot but the second half of GANTZ was just so stupid. Nothing but fillers and such a horrible ending. They could have actually continued the story but instead decided to add in a filler and an ending that didn't make any sense. I was so disappointed since i was reading the manga and how it finished was good but they ended the anime like that.

I think I should give an honorary mention to School Days. Watching Makoto making a total ass out of himself was just too painful to watch. The reason I think it's not one of the worse I have ever seen is because I think that's what they were trying to do. Also I really liked the boat in the end.

Sadly I have to agree, it was awful what they did to the adaptation. Gantz is such a great franchise. I didn't finish the manga but i got past where the anime ended and it gets sooo much better.

It'a shame they actually gave it an ending. They could have left the anime with an open ending and then make a season 3 but nope. Ruined everything with some nonsensical finale.

And I have another one to list for you all:

Akikan!

Even the summary of it sounds ridiculous. That's because it is.

What could be better than an anime about soda cans that transform into girls with weird powers, fighting each other for supremacy in the soda industry? ANYTHING.

This show was so stupid from the beginning to the end. The plot was stupid. The characters were even worse. There was no direction whatsoever. And don't even get me started on the art. For a 2009 show that artstyle is pretty bad.

It is literally a show about aluminium cans fighting steel cans to see which is better. Even though in the end it doesn't even give us anything on that subject. Just pointless fights between all the can girls.

This was just so terrible I can't even.

This one have been on my "to watch for the lulz" list for a while, because the synopsis sounded so ridiculous. Never got the courage to inflict it upon myself though.

The canonical "ultra-fucking-bad" anime I always heard of when I started animation is Eiken.

Only 2 OAVs, I actually watched those and... Well yeah, it's terrible on so many aspects, but the worse is it's not even really funny to see how bad it is.

But I watched it knowing what to expect, so it doesn't qualify as a "hated" anime though.

I watched it last year. It took me a while after i ended it to realise how bad it was. I had to let it sink in and think about what I was doing for a while.

You could probably save yourself some brain cells by not watching it.

Mirai Nikki

So at first I really did enjoy this anime. It was fresh and original because I had not been into the scene previously. Anime was sort of new to me and this one made me realize good shows do exist. However, when I pit MN against other anime I have watched, this one really falls short and I lose interest. Yuno as a yandere has it's shining moments, but in reality it's just kind of bland as a premise. Yuki sucks, and even in the end he sucks. Without the OVA you're pretty much left with shit for a show. Don't know, just really pit this against other anime and I feel it really falls short...

Legend of the Crystals: Final Fantasy .   As a big FF fan, it was one of the first anime I downloaded back during the days of 56k modems.  Even for a teenager that loved FF and hadn't watched a lot of anime yet, my friend and I both thought it was awful on just about every level.

Kyoukai no Kanata :  Even though it had it's moments, I'd still rate it as a stinker in KyoAni's library.  The ending was especialy awful, I kinda just want to forget about it.

Otherwise I tend to drop and forget shows pretty quickly when it seems obvious I won't enjoy it.

I need to seriously think on this one where as I read any visual novel I com across I am loads less tolerant on anime. Then again the anime I watch often depends on mood. hmm, Queens Blade I guess I couldn't get past the first episode all it made me want to do is play the visual Novel Instead or Look at Real Porn.

Sword art Online

The only one i could think of at the moment. While it is not the absolute worst anime I've seen its gotta be in the top 5. The show starts out really really well and it sets itself up for alot of potential and a great show. That is until Kirito Meets Asuna... Then the show is just focused on love and the whole "Damsel in Distress" cliche. At the point everything the show was based off of in the beginning is pretty much thrown out of the window in my opinion.

OreImo

What started off as a funny show descended into a creepy story line involving a high school boy romancing middle school girls, one of whom is his sister (name Bitch-chan). Honestly, people who like this franchise weird me out.

Agree on this. Incest is awful and immoral.

Funny, we've had a discussion about this a few weeks ago, and most people pretty much agreed that albeit there were issues on other points, incest wasn't really all that immoral.

I think the general consensus (or the majority) was that if other people want to do it then they can as long as it doesn't affect you in any way. And they probably shouldn't have kids.

But when it comes to anime you're depicting it as a normal thing (most times) and that's what people take to heart. Kind of the same with lolis being depicted sexually in TV broadcasts.

Because you know, nowadays we have to make a fuss about everything on TV because people believe everyone is too dumb and so they'll be influenced by whatever they see on a show and start dating their siblings

Ignoring a TV show would just be too difficult, we have to make raids and revolutions about it and mark it as wrong.

When I was a kid I didn't jump off cliffs believing I'd survive like they did in cartoons. I guess nowadays it's not like that.

With that said I do agree OreImo was a pretty bad anime near the end. Not for the incest, but for that slap in the face to all the fans who actually supported at least one of the girls.

I would have to agree, and as a continuation to the incest and bad anime's I would have to say Yosuga no Sora would be the worst anime I have watched. Personally I would have to say that this anime was more of a hentai then an ecchi anime, after the first few episodes started all the sex in the anime and eventually led to twinsest. I could follow the story at first but it just got worse and worse as the anime progressed.

The ending was also kind of forced down our throats and destroyed every piece of character development the show had.

Kind of? They completely played it the safe way and avoided an actual ending with one of the girls. It was literally on the same level as To Love-ru's ending. But at least the latter was to be expected.

Nosebleed you do realize that by opening this topic you are opening The Pandora's Box right?

Well in my case 2 worst anime that I watched are Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou and Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun.

Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou is just way too idiotic it doesn't have any real plot or anything at all, it just feels like writer thrown into it anything that come to his mind at a moment and didn't even bother to try to put it up together in something that would make any kind of sense. It is so bad that if someone told me that writer of this Anime is five years old I would probably believe them. It is the only anime that I rated with 1/10.

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun true not as bad as Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou it is still very very bad, story never goes anywhere, it gives you the reason to believe that something serious is about to be relived all the time just to later tell you "no it's nothing really". Characters not just that they don't have any development but they actually become more shallow the further story goes, same goes for their relationship.

I think it's entertaining to see what people hate

I do agree with Nosebleed on this point for a few reasons.

1. You know what to avoid mentioning if someone's militantly hating it.

2. You can get some recommendations on what to avoid if that person likes similar things to you.

3. And sometimes it's just funny to troll someone by saying you like it and constantly sending them links for it.
