Dracu-Riot

Recommended Posts

Just in case I looked for some groups that would translate it, at least if Insem release it and other group does too I guess it wouldn't be a problem at all. Still, no luck in the search

Please don't go around bugging other TL groups about this. They'll translate based on their own priorities. No one takes requests.

Insem made another update on his twitter on 20.4 saying 3579/10474/46413/53707.

True things don't really match here as last post on his blog was saying:

Prologue: 1411/1411
Common: 7810/7810
Azusa: 10594/10594
Elina: 9584/9584
Miu: 0/10474
Rio: 9495/9495
Bonus: 4339/4339
Total: 43233/53707

But with this new update it would look like this:

Prologue: 1411/1411
Common: 7810/7810
Azusa: 10594/10594
Elina: 9584/9584
Miu: 3579/10474
Rio: 9495/9495
Bonus: 4339/4339
Total: 46413/53707

So Miu route moved from 0 to 3579 and Total from 43233 to 46413 (46413 - 43233 = 3180)?

If I was a mod I would just lock any threads related to this project at this point. The people handling it are doing as they please, and it doesn't seem as if any positive action will result from this thread, although there's a high potential of the uglier side of the VN community rearing its head.

With absolutely no incentive for him, I don't know why he'd lie about the translation's progress. He has nothing to gain from doing such a thing. Him trolling in that manner makes no sense, either. If anything, it's the opposite, he's trolling the people who think he's stopped while working on it in secret. In the end, it just comes down to there being no reason at all to disbelieve him. Doing otherwise would just be baseless paranoia. At that point, you may as well distrust every single status report from every single active translation out there, what's the difference?

The difference is that this is Insem, thill I didn't know a lot about this case I thought the same thing as you but the more I look into it the more I starting to believe that people who are hating him are actually corect and that he is just trolling us.

he has something to gain, all of u guys being hopeful about it and then being trolled at the end brings him great pleasure :P

yea i might be being paranoid but i've seen his comments, posts etc and they dont give me much hope that he's not trolling with those posts

and we dont distrust other TL team's status reports cuz maybe they dont have any history of being an ass? not everyone enjoys trolling

I kind of agree with insems post on twitter. There are hardly any saints out there that would like doing things for free. especially if they have other things to do. In fact, if i was a translator, translations would be at the bottom of my things to do as well. And so what if he didn't keep up with deadlines? Valhalla knights 3 was pushed back 9 months. and this is from a company with money and staff who will get paid for their efforts. Plus, he said he will release all his work if he didn't restart the project. maybe he did.

People need to learn that they're getting english patches for free and that it means that they're not entitled to anything. Nobody promised that they'd finish the patch. They just started working on one. Hopes? well life happens. I'd like to see what some of the whiners would do if they where put in situations where it was difficult to finish a patch. Kind of annoying reading comments like:

"Why you dont you resign NOW and let a CAPABLE person take over your “job”?"

or

"Seriously why is no one dedicated to translating eroge? Because you get tired of the porn? Then why do eroge. If its because of time restraints don't pick up eroge projects then if you don't believe you can get it done. That's horrible. we need dedicated fans that are willing to translate eroge that doesn't get licensed."

-

seriously? their job? they dont get paid. and i doubt any fansub group starts a project they know they will finish.

"we need dedicated fans that are willing to translate eroge that doesn't get licensed."

i like how this person wants someone else to do this for free. acting like they were cheated out of their money for a product they invested in. self entitled pricks. Yet none of these people complaining sign up for japanese courses or even volunteer to be an editor for fansub groups.

that being said, i understand the need to hear what the future of dracu-riot is going to be. i can't see why they're holding off on saying it. If it's for no reason then it's a low blow. if they have a reason then i understand. and it sucks that all the progress that was made on a most likely dead project hasn't been released/or officially announced to have been released.

as someone who has been waiting for yanderetranslations to start majikoi back up and for oreimo to be finished, i understand the pain.

but still, sometimes, i wish all the major and most of the minor fansub groups would just band together and shut down translations for a year just to fuck with all the ungrateful people who think theyre entitled to handouts. it would suck for those of us who understand the definition of the words "promise" and "entitled", and those who support fansub groups, but yeah. ungrateful people just bug.

And why don't you try looking a little bit more in this matter, people don't hate on Insem because he dropped a project or because he didn't finish it up till some deadline that never even existed. There are bunch of other project that ended up dropped but nobody is hating on their translators don't you think that there is a reason that people hate just on Insem but not on any other translator that dropped a project. I don't like hating be it with reason or without one but if somebody in this world deserved it then it is him.

Insem is still working on it, though. He should definitely be more clear, but my theory is that he doesn't want to announce a resumption officially because he doesn't know if he can actually finish it or not, and he also doesn't want to hand it over to anyone else because he still wants to see if he can somehow finish it himself. I don't know why he can't just come out and say this though.

Actually, i did do research. I've had dracu-riot since the project was announced and had been following ever since. I get what you mean.  I Know people are mad at him because of the way he acts.

But, it is not true that people dont hate on other translators for taking too long or dropping a project. They do. and a lot of people hate on them in fact. and not just fansub groups but they hate on official companies as well.

If you investigate a bit in random major forums, you'll see that is true. Or just google a project cancellation.

And yes, if he's a jerk than it's ok to hate him. Hell, you don't have to have a reason. But i can't stand the way people demand this project from him. Besides, if you think that it is right to hate him for the way he treats people waiting for the translation, isn't it also possible he hates us back?

You said, there's a reason why people are hating him and it's not because he dropped the project right?

What makes you think he's acting like this for no reason? Go to most forums or chatrooms that discuss fan translations and you most likely will find bashing. I mean yes it's the internet, but still. Bashing on the internet, bashing in emails, bashing in messages. Anyone would have an attitude towards us if we start bashing him despite the fact that he's doing us a huge favor. and not just the people messing with him. there's also the constant inquiries about the status of the project. who knows, he might have reasons for his secrecy. he has a right to withhold information on his project. he doesn't even need to have a reason.  I don't know if that's the reason he acts the way he does or if he's just normally like that. But it is a good reason.

That makes sense. Since people will go crazy if he doesn't finish it after announcing that he has restarted. I mean, people are already acting like he lied over not finishing when he said he planned on being done by now.(separate from him saying he would release what was done)

Ok this is bull*hit I do hang around most of major forums for VNs including Fuwanovel where I am spending few hours daily and bisade Insem I never saw people hating on translators for dropping a project, well there is always a few trolls here and there but never did big number of people hated on translators like they do Insem. Everyone here will agree that Insem is a special case and that people don't treat that way translators for dropping a project. Also you say that the reason he acts like an ass is because of the hate but if he didn't act like that there would never be a reason for anyone to hate on him in a first place. If you goten an impression that people hate on translators just because they drop a project you should ask yourself on what kind of troll forums are you spending your time and I am pretty sure that they are not a major ones.

Guys this is just a warning before doing anything.

This thread's original purpose was to discuss the Dracu-riot patch progress (which was presumed to be dropped) and now it's being used to criticize the leader of the project. I know everyone has different opinions regarding the leader of the project but  a discussion like this does not belong on this thread, it's just creating needless hate. That's why I'd like you to tone down on bashing Insem and discuss something actually related to the patch (if there is anything) and if there isn't anything then please don't try to start needless arguments.

If this continues I will lock the thread permanently.

This is basically a hate topic about Insem by now, something we do not welcome here. Everyone should cool their heads a bit and regain composure- remember one of our high points is that we're a friendly community, after all. Of course, any and all discussion about the actual patch is still going to recieve a welcome with open arms.

...And I guess nii-chan posted before me. Oh well.

Saw this from a third party source. was skeptical so i didn't bring it up. If it's on his twitter it should be more reliable. guess i'll just put this away with my pso2 na hopes until it eventually hopefully comes out.
