I've read 4 VNs so far.

I do like an over-arching narrative but it must include romance.

I've read

-Grisaia (10/10)

-G-senjou (The ending was great, the plot twist reduced it to 8/10)

-Fate(all the routes, 9/10)

-Katawa Shoujo (it was alright, I liked a bit of it, a lot of repetition. 7/10)

A bit of a newbie, but I generally like the addition of "Mature scenes". I also like less time spent at school if possible(no school at all would be fine too)

About to read Chrono Clock and Koi ga Saku Koro Sakura Doki

House in Fata doesn't look like my cup of tea. Waiting for Tsukihime revamp.

Never escape looks interesting, but doesn't include any romance. I may  pick up the infinity series only holding off because outdated graphics.

I'm very interested in comyu, how would I obtain an english version?

I bought toyko Babel, good reccommendation sadly there's no "mature" scenes but I enjoy the setting enough.

I watched the majikoi Anime. I'm curious if it's worth playing after I know everything.

I don't mind more reccommendations, I'll just stockpile the games.

Late to the party here, and may as well promote my blogpost through this link here.

As for which VN that has less school, Amrilato and Nanairo should be good enough although keep in mind that Amrilato is have girl x girl relationship. Damekoi did have 28 years old grown man that fall in love with 16 years old high school girl, and I think you should be okay as long as you've been open minded with that. The rest of the VNs did have school setting, although Hoshiori here did have the MC and heroine goes beyond high school and have their own after stories outside school (Duh). Also while Baldr Sky here have school setting, actually the main premise is more like in a post catastrophe world and that it have war setting (The school setting itself is mainly for the flashback that explained the world before catastrophe). Lastly while I did recommend Nine Episode 1 only you should play Episode 2 as well because it's when it started to get good, and I seconded Aokana recommendation here.

PS - I don't know if you still searching for the recommendations, but if you do hopefully my blogpost could be helpful to you.

I'll recommend my favorite VNs:

TOP 1.Rewrite: My favorite VN, it's probably longer than Grisaia, awesome moments with awesome BGM, the story is really intriguing and mysterious, the romance is also pretty good, I really recommend this one, check out the sinopse and see if you like it:https://vndb.org/v751.

TOP 2.Tsujidou-san no Junai Road: My second favorite, this one has the best romance in my opinion, it left me with diabetes, but you might dislike the protagonist, and no he is not pathetic in any way, just a bit out of place for the environment he finds himself in, either way I really recommend this one:https://vndb.org/v9879.

TOP 3.Ever17-The Out of Infinity: It is the VN with the best plot twist I found so far, but you need to be patient, the game has 4 routes if I'm not mistaken with 3 being good and 1 being awesome, the characters are intriguing and you'll find yourself asking multiple times:"What the hell is happening here?":https://vndb.org/v17

TOP 4.11Eyes: Great VN with awesome battles and a very nice heroine (and a bitchy one also unfortunately), too bad the game doesn't have routes for each heroine, only endings, but it's pretty good:https://vndb.org/v729

TOP 5. Grisaia: Well, you already played the first so just go with the sequels then, Meikyuu isn't that good in my opinion but Rakuen is (for me at least since this one brings my favorite character to her full potential, which is Kazuki, despite how ridiculous the plot becomes), hell, Rakuen is awesome, all the heroines shine in this one, but the first game was the best one so expect less from the sequels.

TOP 6.Kyonyuu Fantasy series: My favorite game here is Gaiden 2 but you can play all of them because all of them are good with best MC so far:https://vndb.org/v2762

TOP 8.Muv-Luv Series: Extra is meh, Unlimited is good, and Alternative is very good, you should definitely give it a try, talking about Alternative, it has the best villains I found in a VN in terms of danger, even the reader might shit himself reading this, the characters are good (one of them is awesome, and the protagonist is no slack either) and the combat is awesome:https://vndb.org/v93,https://vndb.org/v92.

That's probably enough.
