I've tried for the last several hours to get JParser to work, but I keep getting the error "No dictionaries loaded."  I downloaded the edict2.gz file and unzipped it into the dictionary folder, i also tried the other edict file to no avail. Could this be a problem with windows 10 specifically?

Its is a usual problem with windows tbh. The defender wouldn't even notify you that its quarantining/deleting something because it flags it as a virus and programs like parser usually gets detected as viruses. It has happened with me numerous times.
