A VN which is super heavy on the drama. Also another 2 types of recommendation request.

Basically where the romance isn't light. It's all dramatic.
So far VNs I played which seemed like it were WA 2 and Damekoi.
Maybe Shiny Days which I am still playing mainly because I read a thread that Shiny days got plenty of milf heroines. (Manami oof)
Ya that's about it also need that VN to be out in English.
Other than that if yall dont mind recommending something like this too :
1) Not highschool stuff.
2) Examples : Nanarin , Damekoi , WA 2 (CC & CODA)
3) Things to note in the examples none of them are set in a highschool, its either college or working.
Another thing I really love in my VNs is super OP protagonist.
Example - Sharin no Kuni , G senjou no maou , Hello Lady! (isnt out yet but the MC is probably what i am lookin for)

A which combines all of this would be the ULTIMATE VN! hahaha
Also on a side note REALLY loved Evenicle and can't wait for Evenicle 2!

Minori VN's are usually very heavy on drama, I'd therefore recommend eden. And if you'd still be willing to give highschool theme a try, then I'd suggest ef - A Fairytale of the Two which is also from Minori. It's the only VN I ever had to stop reading, because it managed to throw me in a serious depression.

And Fata Morgana no Yakata is probably one of the best drama VN's ever written - I highly recommend it.

Based on what you've said, the best thing I've got for you is Eden*.  It's very heavy on the drama, doesn't take place in high school, and while the protagonist isn't op he's certainly no pushover. https://vndb.org/v1286

Second best option I have for you is Island.  It's pretty light early on, but it gets darker when you get a bit further in.  Some of the characters are highschool students, but the protagonist isn't and there isn't a single scene in the novel that takes place at a highschool.  Again, the protagonist isn't op, in fact he comes across as kind of a dumbass, but objectively looking at everything he accomplishes in the novel it's safe to say he's pretty awesome. https://vndb.org/v18498

Obligatory third paragraph to comply with the rule of threes.  Sorry, I only have the two suggestions.

Edit: Darn, someone beat me to Eden* (Also now I have too many paragraphs.)

Muv-Luv Trilogy. Yes the first entry, Extra, is the quintessential high school setting. The second entry, Unlimited, changes the setting (I won't spoil too much). And the third entry, Alternative, has all the drama and then some.

Sounds like you'd really like Grisaia no Kajitsu. It does have a highschool setting, but there's a twist. Don't let the overtly comedic common route fool you, this VN has plenty of drama (and some downright dark themes). You'll definitely like the protag too. I've heard Grisaia being compared to Sharin to Kuni too.

Sounds like you'd definitely enjoy Steins;Gate too. There's no high school setting there either.

Tokyo Babel comes to mind for translated, though it has a fake school (which is generally irrelevant, since the main characters are on the outside looking in when it comes to school life).  Hello, Lady's protagonist is exactly what you are looking for.

A few suggestions (warning, untranslated)

https://vndb.org/v19658

The characters live in a fantasy world on the edge of moving into the industrial age.  This one is about as dramatic as it gets.  Prepare for tears.

https://vndb.org/v18145

This one meets all your conditions, as the romances all occur under stress and dramatically alter history at times (incidentally, all 'true history' arc heroine endings can be interpreted as normal or bad endings)

https://vndb.org/v445

The downside to this one is that one of the heroines is singularly unattractive, but all the paths are good... and even one of the antagonists has an interesting romance.

https://vndb.org/v15080

This one's translation seems to have been cancelled at some point, but who knows?

https://vndb.org/v1483

Despite this being a school setting, I can outright state that that fact doesn't get in the way.  This game is by Shumon Yuu, and he never focuses on school elements, lol.

https://vndb.org/v19929

Typical AXL fantasy, mixing swords fantasy worlds with SOL and some action.  If you like this one, I suggest you try some of the others... if you can read Japanese, lol.

https://vndb.org/v14760

Despite this being a school setting, I recommend it for the abnormal relationships and drama.  Even if you only read Ami's ending, it is worth it, lol.

I have played both the Grisaia Triology and S;G.
I have all the Muv-Luv's installed but i basically didnt play because its too huge and I figured that I don't have the time.

Every single time you really recommend exactly what I would love to read , it's simply not translated ! :P
Well , I do wish that Caramel Box VNs start coming to the west!

I know, I know, this is not what you want buuut I really have to recommend reading Clannad for all the drama it throws at you. It's in English, the MC is quite good and all the heroines are great in their own way. Of course, it's a high school-themed VN, but only until the true route, so why not?

I know it is based (partially) in a high school, but you might try out Ayakashibito.  Ayakashibito has the advantage of being about as dramatic as it comes, with a strong cast of well-defined characters and a determined protagonist who appreciates the little things in life to a ridiculous degree (with good reason).

Basically modern day Japan but no High school, right?

Kimi ga Nozomu Eien - Working, past the prologue: the prologue is set in an high school but it serves only to put the plot in motion.

428 - Working

Umineko no Naku koro Ni - Let's say "various people on "vacation"", the protagonist is a high school kid, though (80s japan)

Remember11 - Working

Saya no Uta - College

Tomoyo After - Working

then there are many VN in sc-fi or fantasy settings like badr sky, Eustia, Root Double, I/O, zero escape, the steampunk saga, MLA etc.

This is one of those VNs that I am unable to play just like Fate.

I have played Ayakashibito and I agree with what you are saying. I only finished two routes tho so I may go back.

It really sucks that Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien has no English TL.

I have played Tomoyo After and plan to play Baldr Sky once it is out!
