Nah, NekoNyan wrote that they decided to delay release before ban occured. It's in their latest blogpost - they ported HGB to their new engine based on Unity (that allows to switch mosaics on and off ;)), and want some more time for QC, to catch bugs.

We hadn't disclosed that so far, but the reason Hello,Goodbye got delayed is that we've been developing our own engine in Unity, and we have ported Hello,Goodbye to our engine. We're sure you can imagine what the advantages of that are, and also for what purpose you definitely need a different engine for visual novels, but we'll discuss that at a later date.

Everything is coming along greatly, and we should be ready for a release by the end of the month, but we figured we should take some extra time to make sure everything is 100% working, so the release is going to be the 25th January 2019. We'll also open pre-orders within the next few weeks (this time for sure!). If you want to support us and the developers, this the way that will get the most money directly to us. We'll also make sure to throw in some neat pre-order bonus.

Also, good news for both those who like mosaics and those who can't stand mosaics. As some of you have suggested, we're adding an in-game option that will allow you to toggle mosaics on/off.

Now, if they released all-ages version (in addition to adult one) in their own store too, I'd be really glad. Well, for now I hope that Steam retracts that stupid ban, and if I want H, I'll apply the patch ;)

I really hope that at the very least, they can still release all age version.

But it was all-ages version that got nuked by Valve :( +18 patch wasn't meant to be on Steam, despite Steam supposedly allowing adult content.

So as it is now - +18 version will be released in NekoNyan's own store, and maybe on MG too? But they don't say anything about all-ages version. I would like if they released it outside Steam too, if Valve doesn't retract the ban.

Okay, my mistake then. Thank you for the correction. I can understand that Steam need to follow the law and staffs need to follow Steam policy, but it has to be fair and not bias. If there's no nudity or sex act or whatever violating the policy or regulation, no need to ban the game then.

The problem here isn't Valve banning the games. Fact of the matter is that it is their storefront and they can absolutely dictate what is allowed to be sold and what isn't. That falls completely under their rights as a company. The larger issue at hand is the absolutely inconsistent method that they use to dictate what can and can't be sold. We've seen over the past few months Steam go from not allowing 18+ patches, to allowing uncensored porn on steam, back to even nuking the games from orbit. Valve needs to set up a uniform policy here and stop flip flopping back and forth.

First they need to fire hipsters and metoo fanatics from the company

Confirming what we already know, the issue does indeed seem to be with school settings/ mentions of high schools in "anime games" in general, (even if the heroine(s) look grown up,) as Bullied Bried, the new Cherry Kiss game just got randomly banned before release. Cherry Kiss has been releasing uncut games just fine on steam, and most of those have featured adult heroines without school settings. (Tsundere Idol wasn't released uncut at first.) But the one game with a school setting is of course ban hammered.

But then we have Sanoba, Koikuma and etc which are 18+ highschool games not removed from the store. The usual steam consistency makes it hard to pinpoint a specific, general cause, because some offended admin could one day decide to nuke every single game on the store that involves somebody wearing a red t-shirt.

Steam likely banned My Erotic Summer because it's an H-game with a shota protagonist, not just because it's an anime-style game.

What about Food Girls? All-Ages game yet also Indefinitely Delayed by Steam. Seems like they are still "taste police" despite claiming otherwise.
