I edited it, so I'd be pretty stoked regardless, but it's a cool game and pretty far off the beaten path in terms of themes and execution, for the VN medium. I'm looking forward to you all getting to play it, and I hope I get to work on the sequels and the prequel!

Well, I guess this adds another random read for me in the near future. I hope it's at least decent.

Already read through this one.

The story is set in a post apocalyptic world which is pretty unique as far as English releases go (as far as I know anyway). Story is pretty cliche-ish, but definitely not insomnia-curing like Magical Marriage Lunatic's common route (btw there are no routes to choose from. it's a Kinetic novel). Graphics are the hightlight point of this VN as it's quite vividly drawn. This is especially pronounced in the 18+ scenes as it's one of the most sexually arousing VN I had read.

Give it a try. Take it from me, it's definitely not a moege  :makina:

Because I can only dislike moege apparently. :amane:

I've heard some not-so-great things about this VN from people who have opinions I can trust, so I'm not expecting much overall. That's why I'm hoping it's at least decent so it can possibly be worthwhile.

It's a great Visual novel, anyone who played Dead Frontier or games who were similar will like this, I've read it 3 times personally. Highly recommend. It's a shame the novel adaption got stopped but now we got this it's all good. Hopefully they will release the second and third game as well

I'm reading the second one now.

It's a decent VN with some cool ideas, but there's a lot of things that hurts the experience a bit, like:

Hmmm.... I guess Denpa actually want to announce this at AX later, only to see that there's an attempt to translate this by fan, so they decided to announce this right now. The timing was too perfect there lol.

As far as this VN concerned, well graphically and premise speaking is looking good. Tthe premise is quite unusual that for the VNs we live in a post apocalyptic zombie ridden world, which mean there should be some mystery behind the reason of the existence of zombies. Although too bad though that I already set my mind on Evenicle and Chaos Child PC at this month, so I'm more or less is not quite interested with this. Good luck to Denpa though, and hopefully they can release this at this year.

Not sure what to think about this one. It certainly looks very interesting and seems to be a refreshing change of pace to the usual school life moeges.

However...

While I'd like both, a seriously written horror story or an H-heavy take on Highschool of the Dead, but a dark zombie rape hentai isn't exactly on my wish list. The tag combinations of Necrophilia, Unavoidable Rape and Kinetic VN pretty much kill the VN for me. Girls raped by zombies is certainly the last thing I want to see. :marie:

The tags are not giving you an accurate picture. While there is certainly dark content, there is specifically no "girls raped by zombies" content, for one thing. The game is certainly very H-heavy, and I won't really try to defend it on that front; it is what it is. But at the same time, the game takes itself very seriously as a zombie survival story, and that's what I ended up finding interesting about it (in between editing pages and pages of H).

I will say, I've recently realized that every single time I've tried to figure out whether I'll like a VN based on people's descriptions, I've found the experience of actually playing the game to be utterly different from my expectations, to the point that I almost think it isn't worth seeing what people are saying about a game, beyond the basics of who liked it and who didn't. It's also entirely possible that I just don't know my own preferences very well, or that they're always evolving, though. Not really sure where I'm going with this, except maybe "don't judge a book by its cover"? And that probably goes double for me saying positive things about it, heh, since I obviously have a vested interest in it!

Lets just be honest and say these series actually began as porn in terms of the vn adaptation and got boosted afterwards :chaika:

That kinda makes reading reviews in general pointless, isn't it? I actually found out knowing certain people and their tastes is much more helpful in terms of finding out where my preferences are exactly at. It's like a star map of eroge to guide you through that lonely and often angsty sea of shitty fandoms.

I've been interested in this title for a while.  Seems like exactly what I look for: a sexually-charged eroge with excellent art and a solid story.  Too many games focus on the story or the sex, treating the other as an afterthought, when what I want is a sexually-charged story along the lines of School Days and Song of Saya.

That it wastes its ideas and it's pretty bland overall. Despite that, I want to read it myself to see if what they say is true.

Read it for yourself then judge. It's pretty short too. Unless you frequent consume other medias, this VN is very fresh in the EN scene

There are zombie 'rape' scenes, but it's not something similar to what you implied. Trust me and @Fred the Barber on this; there are no girls being mass raped by zombie hentai-similar scenes in this VN. It is nowhere near similar to this series at all.

Hi folks! Bumping this thread since I Walk Among Zombies volume 1 was quietly released last night! This was announced at the Denpasoft panel, but I haven't seen a tweet about it yet... at any rate, get it here: https://denpasoft.com/products/i-walk-among-zombies

This is the first game I worked on to get an official release, so I'm excited to hear what you all have to say about it!

Well that's the quickest release by Denpa/Sekai there lol. Congratulation for the release, although right now I can't comment much on this though (Maybe I'll consider this later). Oh and at least I was partially right that Denpa want to announce this VN, although they announced part 2 and 3 though.

Picked it up and gave it a try since I was kinda curious how it'll turn out. But unfortunately, so far it seems to be pretty bad.

What was I expecting:
Some kind of a highschool of the dead scenario of a group of students, working together to fend of a bunch of zombies.

What did I get:
A protagonist who isn't even in danger because the zombies don't attack him. That makes the whole situation kind of dull since the whole thrill of danger is missing. And in most cases you don't even see any zombies since they apparently didn't have the budget to draw any sprites for them. Although there are some sparse (badly drawn) event CG's with some, most screens are empty. In short, it's probably the most boring zombie apokalypse I've ever seen.

But okay, I guess could still live with that if the rest would be at least okay. But unfortunately, the even bigger problem is that the protagonist is pretty much an abusive asshole without the slightest bit of dignity. Oh, Kurose was treated badly by her coworkers - how could they? Okay, then let's just rape her since she's helpless and we've nothing better to do at the moment. I'm not even sure how someone into dark hentai could enjoy it since she's literally just a puppet without any reactions - it's just dull.

The only positive thing I could possibly say about it is that the characters and most of the backgrounds are rather well drawn. But that's pretty much it.

*dropped* 2/10

Eeerrr... the original name of this VN is ゾンビのあふれた世界で俺だけが襲われない that literally means "I am the only one who is not attacked in the world filled with zombies."

Anyway, I somewhat enjoyed the first one, it was okayish, but the second one is quite boring so far. Like Walking Dead after they settle up in the prison, it's more about the character's relationship and less about the zombies... (Might change, I was half way through but I stalled it)

But you couldn't be more right on this one.

If you dropped it after Kurose's scene, you did yourself a favor. He's even worse after that.

Try reading Denpasoft's description. There is a single line, which has a bigger font. I will add it here to make it even easier to read.

Quote

Why am I the only one the zombies don’t attack?

If you buy a VN with a description like that and then flame the VN because you expected the protagonist to be attacked by zombies, then you might as well buy an all age VN and flame it for lack of H scenes. Half of the review flames the VN because it contains what it says it will contain rather than what you assumed it to contain. The other half is calling the protagonist abusive. That's more or less what I get from it because the rest are references to the story, which I don't get because I haven't read the VN yet.

Score for the review: 1 / 10

Score for the VN itself: still unknown
