Happiness+
So, I have read Kara no shoujo (I haven’t gotten to a normal end yet. It’s like a non-normal end because it says end but I haven’t seen the credits and the gallery is locked.), saya no uta, all of the higurashi series, and DDLC. Here’s a scenario, I have a date with a normie. Besides doing what normie dates do, we decide to play a VN. Doesn’t matter if it’s a JVN or an OELVN, I am talking about a horror that is short enough to read through a date, but has psychological horror and disturbing. TL;DR I am looking for any short horror VN that is psychologically disturbing for a date night.
VirginSmasher
Phenomeno may be perfect for you guys, even if I personally didn't like it.
Plk_Lesiak
If you have more or less a whole night Saya no Uta and CUPID are still pretty short. It's hard to find a good horror one that takes less than 4-5 hours the read, the super-small VNs I've really enjoyed are mostly just (yuri) fluff. Funyarinpa
Saya no Uta. Higurashi's more so the sort of thing that you need to play yourself. (And also, it's very slow for the first 3-5 hours.

tymmur
The greatest horror I can think of related to VN is Dual Phase. Most readers are horrified by just hearing the title. The horror and agony of reading this horribly written VN is an out of this world experience. It's mentally disturbing and tormenting to read, but at least it's short. Your date makes you go to jail instead of making out. For once my reply was not meant to be taken seriously. Honestly I'm puzzled by the idea of bringing a VN to a date, particularly a horror title. 4 hours ago, Happiness+ said: I am talking about a horror that is short enough to read through a date, but has psychological horror and disturbing. Psychological horror might be something they simply both enjoy. I'm not suggesting S&M attitudes being involved. Or any other kinks. Why would anyone even think of that? Disturbing. Is it really that strange? I was disturbed by DDLC, and I have been looking for a game to disturb me like that and a friend. Because it’s fun. Psychological horror is just a genre, but what makes psyhological horror work is that it is disturbing. If it’s not disturbing then, wtf 32 minutes ago, tymmur said: For once my reply was not meant to be taken seriously. Horror movies pale in comparison to VNs. I’ve seen all the great horror flicks, some I almost fell asleep on some of them. *cough* IT, The Shinning *cough*. I had dates where we read Air Pressure, Starwish, and ladykiller in a bind (disclosure: it was just the demo because I wasn’t sure how religious they would be.) Hell, I even included my OELVN. (Disclosure: It’s laughably short and craptastic, but it was something to talk about for like the whole time.) Why don’t you guys trying reading a VN for a date? Funyarinpa
Honestly, get any loli-focused nukige. Don't skip the sex scenes.
Ranzo
Yeah you should definitely check out Phenomeno it is short, sweet, and free. What a bargain! You might want to check out The Letter as well. I haven't played that much of it but what I have played is pretty legit. Of course if your date turns out to look like this I'm sure it won't really matter in the end. Edited March 16, 2018 by Ranzo

Horror movies pale in comparison to VNs. Ok, history lesson. Back in the 50s, drive in cinemas became a hit in America (they appeared in Europe too, but was never a hit). It became a popular activity for dating. Put some horror/monster movie on the screen and the girl will scream, get scarred and jump into the arms of the guy. She is then so horrified of the movie that she no longer objects to him touching her. That's the main point in all those 50s B movies, which nobody watch anymore. It most certainly wasn't movie quality when they aimed to get a new one out for each weekend. After all the girls should not go "but I already watched that movie". Fast forward to today. Some people still want to be afraid of the movies they pay to view and apparently for VNs too. I simply don't get it. It's not a feeling I enjoy and reminds too much about real life stuff I prefer not to think about. 1 hour ago, Happiness+ said: Why don’t you guys trying reading a VN for a date? I view VNs and movies as single player things and I prefer not to go single player on dates.

That makes me imagine a stereotype otaku, who somehow managed to get a date and then he pulls out a H-manga, claiming it's a manual for what to do on a date. Inorin
Phenomeno is something you really should read. At least for me,the horror factor here is higher than that of most of the so-called horror vns like saya no uta and higurashi, despite its apparent lack of plot development (since the VN was only meant for the promotion of the original LN series). More importantly, it's the shortest vn I've read (took me about 1.5h to complete) so it should be sufficient to last through your date. Okarin
This covers not one but a couple of dates, has some actual uncensored porn, to spice the date up, it's horror, and it's cheap: http://store.steampowered.com/app/585890/ Edited March 21, 2018 by Okarin Plk_Lesiak

phantomJS
Perhaps doki doki literature club would be worth a try? As a bonus, you and your date can watch copious youtube theory videos, such as this, after finishing the VN, lolz Edited: Sorry, didn't read through all the posts.
