Well, she got better with time, but, maybe it's not the nicest think to say, but I think she was the weakest member of the original Key crew.

She clearly was. It's not like finding good artists for VNs was easy back in 1999 when they had her do the art for Kanon.

I don't really mind if companies use Kickstarter it just allows for more VNs in the west. But seeing this is an All Age VN I have no interest at all. I expected more from Manga Gamer...

I don't know, maybe I just so so unlucky, but out of 3 VN Kickstarters I backed so far, I'm totally satisfied with only one, and this doesn't say much considering the game for it is still far from being released. I guess, it goes without saying why I'm going to be very cautious about backing anything in the future. :makina:

Just don't back Sekai Project's kickstarters, especially since the last major two ended in untranslated lines.

Well... If it would feature KEY style porn, no thanks, All Ages is better. XD

Never read a KEY VN. Should someone release an 18+ version for one of them maybe I'll get to see what all the fuss is about. Until then I'll keep avoiding the companies VNs.

I hope people realize a reason companies use Kickstarters is because the original Japanese company themselves likes using them.

More guaranteed sales and more reason to sell merch.

There were mixed messages about that from both Sekai and NekoNyan, both companies I don't trust so I'll just take them with a grain of salt.

And just because JP companies like using them doesn't mean we as an English audience have to like them. They're annoying and they're always happening in this medium.

By the way, any idea how good the author for this is?

Based only on Suki to Suki, she knows how to write good comedy and make likeable heroines, but sucks at romance/every other point "more serious" of the story, the jokes on the middle of romance scenes that make that aspect more shallow than already is, though in the end is enjoyable if you want to laugh. Technically nothing much elaborate, but tons of otaku reference and  4th wall breaking.

That is only based in one game, but she is young on the scene and have only two non-nukige titles, so have room to improve.

E: She is only a assistant on Suki to Suki, so what was written above don't have much value.

Well, he (?) is listed as an assistant writer for that VN and probably didn't write much there. I wouldn't base my opinion only on that.

Lol, my bad, i don't see that he is she, neither that is only a assistant writer on suki to suki, so she is relatively fresh to the scene with only one more substantial work(with a average rate on vndb and not enough serious votes on egs) and some nukiges and don't have marked characteristics, so the writing is really a gamble.

Eh...while I'm not particularly interested in the title, I don't think this Kickstarter campaign is a bad sign for MG's future.  They were extremely hesitant to use Kickstarter in the first place, so I can't imagine them becoming completely reliant on the platform, like Sekai and Frontwing seem to be.  They'd also stand to lose a lot of support if they started abusing crowdfunding, since a fair amount of people that buy from MG seem to dislike Sekai and their business practices.

I have to say, their basic tiers are pretty decent.  They aren't charging more money to include digital keys with physicals, and the physicals themselves are reasonably priced, which were problems with previous VN Kicksarters by Frontwing and Sekai.

So is anyone else interested with 9,000 tier list? Obviously not me though because it's too expensive, but maybe dinner with the illustrator can be an interesting experience to say the least. That said, for the VN that was supposed to be in development the goal was surprisingly small (Only 30,000). Then again, perhaps they'll copy Frontwing strategy with chapter based release (Phantom Trigger) and therefore they'll do KS for each Chapter.

As for the design, I think the long blue haired one is fine while the short haired one is not quite fine. I guess the reason of why we fine with Inoue's art in the past is that usually her character did have the long hair, and in turn it allow us to not only focused on the eyes alone but to the hair as well. Then again, this is just my first look on that so maybe the art will be grow on me later.

In regard of VN, actually the writing was more important the art, so I'm slightly distrust the writer here because he didn't have enough big work to support his reputation. While looks like his writing in Sukiren is good like Norleas said, I think he probably didn't do much writing because his position was only assistant writer, and from what I saw Sukiren did had two assistant writer. Also all of his previous works is always written by each people, so this is his first work. Of course I knew that each people did have a room to improve like Norleas said, so I'll just wait and see in regard of this.

Mangagamer using Kickstarter for this doesn’t bug me at all, but like others have said, I’m not very interested in this game from the pitch.  And as much as I prefer 18+ releases for the most part, all-ages is the only way I’d play this one (even if they had a different artist), so no problem with that.

Never thought I'd see the day where Mangagamer decided to use a Kickstarter to fund one of their projects. I hope this doesn't become a consistent thing with them. At least they'll still have the good TL quality, unlike Sekai Project. w

And about the game, it seems overly moege for my tastes, so unless I have nothing else to read, I'll probably avoid this one.

If it becomes regular people will probably flip shit. I really don't like how SP does a kickstarter for literally every project to use it as a way to sell stuff rather than to fund an actual project. Especially when its moege.

Someone above said he'll only read KEY when they get +18 patches...... I can't lol enough. Although I could just endorse the stereotype of them being terrible, I can add that the newest novels don't have any sex content - Clannad, Rewrite, Planetarian, and that other short one. It's way wiser to read fan fics instead of waiting for something that doesn't even exist.

About this....... I love that they are doing this this way, instead of overpricing the KS and the game itself, and it's nice to see "Key's old style" again, but the coloring is terrible, just horrible. I can get past this if the story is good, and I doubt Mangagamer would risk their reputation with a mediocer game.

I'm confident enough in Mangagamer that they won't start going to Kickstarters all the time and that this will only happen on rare occasions. You can quote me on that.
