Uh, yuri stories. There's Flowers and the Sonohana series, but I imagine you read those already.

I'm pretty fond of Katahane. That game had some nice yuri, especially in the mid section of it. Not a whole lot of yuri to go around.

Well, of course I played/read all of them :P
But I actually didn't ask for a recommendation^^ However I want to hear more about this roleplay.

This sounds good. :makina:

Anyways, you probably won't bother, but I'm actually super interested in Fuwa history.

You could tell us a bit about Steve and all the lolicon drama that led to banning the topic on the forums?

And I wonder what happened to OriginalRen that he seemed so bitter about Fuwa by the end of his period of activity around here?

I want to see all the dirt. :nokia: (but I actually don't have the time to dig through the old posts much :( )

Does anyone care for fuwahistory? I could probably tell some amusing stories about it.

No?

A pity.

Ask me my favorite animal or something then I guess.

I'm more curious about the so called "pirate age" of Fuwanovel. The seas must've been turbulent with ships containing bootlegged VNs.

Curses.

We had the same avatar and some nice forum talk. Eventually, the devil himself, admin @Steve violated our sanctuary by changing my avatar without my permission. That was, no doubt, what would lead these forums to their breaking point, as the fuwa population danced around the fiery corpses of the causalities of that war.

Lolis were always a hotly debated topic on the staff forums. Since the dawn of fuwanovel itself, they led to great discussions spanning pages of whether we should allow them or think of the 13 year old french girls that visit the site (something I pay close attention to, as I can attest by my growing 1.3% blog female readership, thank you ladies.)

Eventually, we decided the forums weren't really the place for loli porn. A ridiculous "I'll call the FBI" threat from an user was involved by the way, something that gave all of us a good laugh.

We were all united under the banner of our creator at the time, and the site seemed very good for its first year. Eventually, the seas did indeed prove too harsh for safe sailing, and our captain wisely changed course to calmer waters.

Am i still the only tsundere you tolerate?

As for the serious question, do you think with the current state, Fuwanovel is still "alive" or are we entering the dead forums zone?

I don't really tolerate Kurisu anymore.

Our active userbase has been stable for the past two years. No signs of decline. It's about 5 times less activity than we had in our peak during the piracy days, but after it adjusted, it hasn't really been bad at all.

Pretty good. I'm quite attached to fuwa.

That's good to hear. I've noticed that in 2017, most forum communities I was with suddenly died with no explanation. The great forum plague is upon is, and Fuwa still persists onward like brave warriors.

People mostly use things like reddit nowdays after all. Forums are nice though.

When did you become a mod?

I became a moderator roughly a week after this.

Now, when I joined, being a mod was very very different.

We had like 20 mods, and people were mods for all sorts of reasons. In fact, it wasn't even really a mod team per se - everyone gained a "staff" badge, and people had that badge for really odd things. One of our people was a mod because they ran this awesome hacking service that helped with translating VNs, others got the badge in part because of their involvment with uploading our torrents, etc.

I was originally supposed to be a special mod as well, not doing much moderation and instead involving myself in the management of some community projects that never came to be. Everyone still had mod powers, and we all did moderate a lot, though. Some reports got up to 15 different moderator comments before we solved them, as obvious as those reports were. I more or less learned how to moderate with everyone else, and by the time we revamped the moderating system for GMs and BMs, I was one of the oldest people left.

So how was the forum before I joined (january 2014)? I didn't experience Aaeru's reign myself, so I only heard a few stories.

Aaeru was a very nice person. Almost a legend to us in a way. "Aaeru would have done this" was a serious argument we considered when debating what to do in the staff forums years after she was already gone. Her ideas about piracy were probably a bit misguided, and she pissed off a lot of people, but I can't help but view her in a good light.

Congrats on five years.

What is the supreme niche of visnovs in your eyes?

Nukige. It's what started the genre, it's the current most made type of game, it's always been the most popular type of VN to make.

Stories can suck, but porn is pure. So long as it doesn't look like complete trash, it has value, unlike the average bad VN.
