  1. Rakushka (2011 or 2012, I don't remember. A 20-minute long VN I found on a Russian RPG Maker forum, and while it's a proper VN, it isn't on vndb, probably because nobody bothered to add it.)
  2. Rewrite (early summer 2013)
  3. Little Busters (summer 2013)
  4. Clannad (still summer 2013, dropped)
  5. Then it gets tricky. I remember, that fall I read a short VN called Tsuki no Terasu, Air and a few chapters of Steins Gate, but I don't remember which one came first.

No, I am not a Yuri-Fan!
Love Ribbon (Yuri + Incest = forbidden Love between sisters --> Do you need something else?)
Hakuisei Aijou Izonshou (Yuri, imouto and one bad End was like: "OMG! Holly SHIT! SERIOUSLY?!")
Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke o - New Gen! (Was okay, but I played it because of the Yuri Incest Route <3 and it was worth)
Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke o: Watashi no Ouji-sama
Okujou no Yurirei-san

So you see I am not just a Yuri-Fan... I am a ONE HELL OF A YURI-FAN!!!
Therefore we need more Yuri VN's especially with a forbidden Love between Sisters! I am not kidding, that's my honest opinion.

Who read the current chapter of Citrus?

I'm not sure about the right order (more than 10 years ago) but I think my first five VNs are among those :

True Love ~Jun'ai Monogatari~ : I was young and, honestly, I was just looking for porn XD But but the game was so good, that I finished it 4-5 times :sacchan:

Season of the Sakura : One of the girls looked like Asuka (Evangelion) :kosame:

Runaway City

Three Sisters' Story

May ClubAt the time, I liked it a lot ^_^

Nocturnal Illusion

Fatal Relations

X-Change : Bullshit.

Ring Out!! : Bullshit.

(Yeah, you can say it : I'm an old-timer :salt: )

Important : At the time, I did not know what a Visual Novel was :P

First 10 - it's quite easy since I keep the save games so I just look at the modify dates.

- Planetarian (around 2007 - I don't think I know this is a VN back then)
- Ever 17 (2010)
- 999 (2010)
- Remember 11 (2011)
- Wanko to Kurasou (2011 - one route only before I dropped it)
- Umineko (2011)
- Umineko Chiru (2012)
- Chaos;Head (2012)
- Never7 (2013)
- Steins;Gate (2013)

If you count Ace Attorney as VNs - they would fill up #2 to #5 (1st to 4th game)

I can't really remember my original five as this was back in late 2015 - early 2016. I only perfectly recall my first two, the rest I think they where.

1. Katawa Shoujo - Finished

2. If my heart had wings - Originally the steam version but a steam friend sent me a link for the uncensored patch, Finished

3. Grisaia no Kajitsu - Finished

4. Sakura Swim Club - talk about bad luck having a Winged Cloud VN in my first five haha, Finished

5. I really can't remember if it was Clannad or Princess Evangile - Stalled on Clannad, finished Princess Evangile.

I see most of you guys were lucky enough to start around or after 2010, when the English market was starting to shape up into something decent.

Back in 2005-2006, when I started, there was only JAST around, with mostly sexromps. I think the first VN I actually played was called Tsuki - Possession, or something like that. Don't look it up, it's bad. Like, real bad.

I thought VNs were just porn then, honestly. The following titles I tried more or less reinforced this idea: X-Change Alternative and Bible Black (although Bible Black has somewhat of a decent plot too).

Luckily I then moved to Snow Sakura and Yume Miru Kusuri. Not masterpieces for sure, but they showed me a different world. Shortly after I started studying Japanese, because as I said, back then there really wasn't an English market.

I got into VNs pretty late compared to a lot of people here.

1) Nekopara (Early summer, 2015. Got this as a gag gift from a friend. Joke is on him, as it introduced me to VNs, and I haven't stopped reading them since. :P )

2) Grisaia no Kajitsu (Mid summer, 2015. This VN blew my mind, and is what really pulled me into the medium.)

3) Kono Oozora ni, Tsubasa o Hirogete (Mid summer, 2015. I cri evr tiem.)

4) Grisaia no Meikyuu (Late summer, 2015. With broken Japanese, a dictionary and a lot of time on my hands, I had to read the sequel to Kajitsu.)

5) Katahane (Early fall 2015. I cri evr tiem x2)

1- Fullmetal Alchemist: Bluebirds Illusion: I "played" this one when I was a kid. I was searching files through eMule and saw a FMA PC game. I was so thrilled to check it out, since there was no FMA PC game I ever knew. In the end, I haven't understood any of it since I didn't know Chinese, though I can say that I was captivated by its opening and the fact that how close BBI's art style was to the 2003 series, which I liked so much.

2- don't take it personally babe, it just ain't your story: Thanks to our local gaming magazine, Oyungezer, I was able to play this somewhat interesting VN. It pointed out some social problems and aspects of our community, and our social network accounts are not so private. I really liked its gameplay.

3- Kara no Shoujo: I first stumbled upon Kara no Shoujo on the DVD that came with the gaming magazine Oyungezer on July 2011. KnS is easily one of the most captivating mystery VNs I've ever played. Its realistic setting, interesting characters, compelling storytelling and gruesome murder cases were absolutely stunning to me.

4- Little Busters: How can I ever forget Little Busters? I get to know Little Busters in 2012, when its anime adaptation was announced. I didn't know there was a VN with the same name and I was a bit cynical about LB at first, given how there was character images with cat ears and stuff. I thought it was your typical slice-of-life moe stuff. Boy, was I so wrong. I still gave a chance to its anime and started watching a few episodes. The cast seemed interesting and its absurdity was funny. Then, when I was searching LB on the internet, I found that there was indeed a VN of it. I get really excited when things I watch has a game that has a connection with it. I immediately started to play LB and before I knew it, I was already ahead of the anime. I was even giving hints about the story on Turkish anime communities. Then, after I finished playing the final arc, I felt so complete and pleased with it. To this day, LB is still my favorite VN of all times and waiting for Little Busters! English Edition to finally experience the EX routes was worth it.

5- Katawa Shoujo: I loved this one too. It was unexpectedly good and looked quite fantastic even though it was an OELVN. With its FMV cutscenes, memorable characters, wonderful OST and unique setting it's quite attracting.

I did play both of Ar Tonelico and back then I just thought it's another RPG, where in fact VNDB categorized it as VN. I didn't completed those two, so it might be not count. For PC VN, back at 2009 to 2011 I played:

  1. Succubuss Soon - Translated by Mangagamer as 'Shera My Witch', and very normal nukige. MC voice is very annoying, and the narration being voiced by MC definitely didn't help at all. Have succubuss (Duh) and step little sister heroines, which the latter was shilled by MC as very sexy one.
  2. Shuffle - I just expect that it'll have a H scenes, and sure enough my expectation was fulfilled lol. Only that it was very little compared to Shera, and most of the time was spent on Rin interact with the girls. More or less my very first serious VN compared to Shera, because Shuffle was pretty much a moege.
  3. Kira Kira - Even more serious VN compared to Shuffle, and I really enjoy that. Oh, and one of the ending was definitely threw me out, especially compared to Shuffle in which all of the routes did have very good ending.
  4. Virgin Roster - Yes, another nukige and more or less it's just morally corrupt MC hunt and smash the virgin. Quite satisfying though when the MC managed to hunt the first year which is pretty elusive.
  5. Hinatabokko - Messed up localized title aside, it's more or less just a normal moege with one slightly interesting twist. Namely that we could date our best friend and turn out he was quite cute, so much it make me interested with BL VN lol. Or not at all because SPOILER the friend was turn out to be a girl, and in the epilogue she was very good looking as a woman.

Well, that's all for my first five VNs that I played and finished. Never thought back then I'm going to be active in one of VN Community back then, time was flies indeed.
