Try turning to Japanese Local and change Region -> Format to Japanese characters

I did both of those and tried it again. The random letters are gone and it's in Japanese but the Next button is still blank. I installed the game to the default directory but when I try and search for the files (when browsing the English patch setup) the files are not there.

Looks like the directory is incorrect. make sure that the patch app is referring to the actual directory where you installed the game. it's not letting you proceed because the folder and files that needs to be patched aren't there.

First, locate where did you installed the game, just copy the directory from properties(win7) or right click>copy address from the address bar(win10). then, paste it to the patch destination.

https://imgur.com/a/r4u6S This is a picture of the default directory. The left one shows where I found the folder by searching for it normally. The right shows what comes up when I find it through the English patch browse. On the right one the Majikoi Crack folder is empty and that's all there is. If I'm looking for the まじこい.exe folder I don't know where it is.

You probably won't find まじこい.exe because as of now, it looks like it's not set in jap locale anyway. anyway, you need to find the directory where you installed the game, there are lots of ways  and pretty sure you can think of one. I'll give you few advises. to confirm that you really have majikoi installed, look in Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features. another thing is to run your installer again and see where the directory goes. I'm sorry but it's something you'll have to find out if you want us to help.

I decided to try something different. I opened the English Patch installer and copied the first directory that it showed. I then opened winrar and extracted the game folders to directory I copied. I then took Disc 1 and Disc 2 and moved them over to DAEMON Tools. I opened Disk 1 and got this https://imgur.com/a/z6lY8. It's on Jap locale so when I click Setup or StartUpTool it's in Japanese not random letters. So now is this where the English patch comes in or have I not actually installed the game yet? Cause it looks like Setup is for that but I can't read it cause it's in Japanese.

i was having this problem,
what solved it for me was: run the patch in japanese locale (admin) then search for the game folder and listo.
i dont know why but even if the game folder is in eng the patch instaler still needs to be run in japanese locale to work you cant even install it in the root "C:\" unless you start it with japanese locale i guess it needs it to find the name of the .exe or something like that.
