Visual novel help!

Hello, been playing VNs for a while and this is the first time this has happened. I've already set my system locale to Japanese (always been this way ever since I started) and it's still like this. I'm at the ends of my rope and don't really want to skip this game, so any solutions is appreciated! Game name is Aku no Onna Kanbu 2.

Either it shows no text or shows like one letter, for example the letter p or q and so on.

The only idea I have is, instead of setting the system to japanese use a program which lets you run individual exes in japanese. There were a few games where tha game gave me jiberish but I could still hook out the actual text. Using a program instead of setting the locale fixed it. I doubt it will work since you seem to have a different problem but worth a try.

You mean like HF apploc? I tried that and it gave me symbols instead. Text was actually jibberish.

A lot of VN's also require you to set the time format to Japanese. Not sure if that's the solution for your problem since usually the result is a crash and not just a simple font problem.

It's also possible that you have to install Japanese language support, so you get all required fonts.

I have set the time zone to Japanese, if that's what you mean.

I'm on Win 10 so I thought they automatically installed all Japanese language support stuff.

No, time zone is not what I meant, even if it's in the same settings category. You have to change the data and time format that influences how date and time is shown in the task bar for example. There's also a languages panel where you can add additional languages. Windows 10 doesn't install all language packs by default.

I assume you just change to format to japanese format where its y-m-d. I tried that and still same thing.

try this

Also tried that however, the problem was I couldn't find app and features there. I found it elsewhere and chose manage optional features, but when I clicked add a feature it showed up nothing.

I guess you don't have required Japnese font. Although this problem shouldn't happen if you are using Win10 with Japanese language installed.

Maybe you could try using Locale Emulator, see if this helps.

Yeah I also thought that using Japanese language with Win 10 should be no problem.

I've tried Locale Emulator and although it was better than no text or one letter texts, it now shows up gibberish as if I've never changed system locale.
