Princess X walkthrough doesn't make sense, does it have heroine routes? *May contain small spoilers*

First a small introduction on how I play or what I care about in visual novels. While of course I care about artwork/graphics and other elements my main focus when going through it is romance, story and characters. I'm also mainly interested in the true ending most of the times, and I don't care about 100% cg completion or simple bad ends. Which is why I usually look up choices walkthroughs, so I can get on the desired routes avoid bad ends without spoiling the story.

With that out of the way, I tried to look up a guide for Princess X and found this:

http://www.otakulair.com/english-visual-novel-walkthroughs/princess-x-my-fiancee-is-a-monster-girl-walkthrough

The problem is that route titles make no sense... Or is it not a by girl route game? Or do all the routes split after you pick Naja ? (Which I find disturbing in and of itself).

I didn't play it yet and only adapted the Otaku Lair walktrough for the Fuwa formatt, but, from what I gathered, there are no specific Heroine routes, it's like different scenarios with the heroines, some of them might have some focus on specific ones, but, not enough to call their route.

I looked up a japanese walkhtrough when the game came out and just droped the game after. That wakthrough basically gave me an A and B routes and the different endings you can get during the routes. At the start you pick Naja by default (this is the point I looked it up). Just by the walkthrough and what I read somewhere, this game doesn't have the basic "make choices lock on to heroine and go down her route" style, as SeniorBlitz said it has scenarios that focuses on heroines. They had a good slice of life with monstergirls story going at the start but fucked it up completely. Hell the spidergril doesn't even get a normal ending even though he is featured as a main heroine.

This answer will probably have some spoilers (as you have asked about ending types.) However, I will keep them to a minimum.

The game is garbage and you are probably playing it for the PLOT, so its probably fine. :makina:

The game follows an ending system, where you end up with heroines/according to the scenario.

Harem world -> Inconclusive harem ending + Saki

The power of a kiss -> Nadja ending (Good ending)

The monstrous emperor -> Nadja and her mother ending. You are evil but not cruel. (you actually love nadja, somewhat twistedly)

To the future -> Nadja and proxima ending. Inconclusive (he marries neither). There is torture rape and cruelty in this chapter.

A world without Shinichi -> Same ending as above, except shinchi just dies instead of ending with them. The title is pretty self explanatory.

Desire unleashed -> Evil version of the to the future route. i.e. you torture and rape as much as you can.

Fiancees forever -> Another inconclusive end where he can't decide who to marry so stays fiances with everyone.

An unorthodox love -> He falls in love with the robot princesses maid-cylinder, and basically fucks a metal hole. Its very weird.

A love steeped in lies -> Robot princess ending (Komadori) Somewhat good ending.

The ruler of an empire -> Nadja and her mother ending, where he corrupts them by making them eat ice-cream

Who is the true monster? -> Yandere childhood friend ending. Seriously disturbing shit. (Bad End)

The promise -> Final ending. Everyone promised in the past to marry MC.

NOTE: The MC never loves the spider girl and vice versa. It can be argued that she is not a major heroine. She doesn't get much screen time. They never have sex. She is not NTR'd. She runs off with someone she actually loves.

Also your walkthrough is not adapted perfectly. Though you have used the * to indicate the other choice in different routes, you have in actuality written the same choice list for multiple routes. For example, You have written the To The Future Route and A World Without Shinchi exactly the same. Choice 16 is the diverging point where you need to select go to the torture chamber,. I am unable to comment there, so I have mentioned it here.

Overall, this game is very average and you would probably be doing yourself a favour by skipping it.

Hope this helps~

Princess X is a running joke :makina: I hope you're not taking the game seriously, as it literally twists the stereotypes and was made in a way to fuck the fanbase.

That said, it's not your classic galgame with routes, it has a scenario system based on the choices you make, which lead you to respective endings.

After every translated monster girl game, something dies inside me.

Either its monster girls raping you violently like in monster girl quest or its this kind of twisted shit.

Why cant I have some vanila monster girl boobies.

I know, right? :sachi:

To be honest, the best stuff that's out there is out of the reach for most, but I wouldn't say it's good, either. Most of the games that involve monster girls are really bad. There is a couple of studios, that specialize in them, if you prefer the classic vanilla approach, but those are typically down to the earth porn games with little to no story. I'd really like to see a really good game, that involves monster girls in a way I presume interests us the most - as in, both showing the differences and ways different characters deal with being monsters between humans or vice versa. What measure is being a human and what it really means to be a "monster"? Things like that.

I kinda liked monster musume anime. (guilty pleasure)

I wouldn't mind playing a VN with something like that. Nice and slice of lifey, with monster girl waifus~

Princess X actually tries to explore, what makes a monster a monster in one of the routes. It is actually done somewhat decently. (the yandere childhood friend route.)

That being said, I hated this VN so much that I seem to be overlooking any and every positive point it has. For some reason, I don't like dropping a VN in the middle.

Thanks for posting this. The walktrhough on Fuwa was rather unhelpful, as the titles of the endings gave no actual indication as to what types of ending I would be choosing...

Don't be surprised, Princess X is a big middle finger towards the fans of monster girls; it was made in the exact same formula NTR games are made; iirc, as to make you question why you actually feel attracted (often sexually :holo:) to something, which is more or less a fucking monster. Not saying it couldn't be done in a better way, without actually alienating a large part of the fanbase.

OK, This is a misunderstanding I have seen a lot, so I am assuming a lot of people are commenting without having played the game.

To clarify. Netorare is when your girlfriend has sex with other men (for whatever reasons).

To get rid of mist misunderstandings,

There is no netorare in this game

The girls do not have sex with anyone other than the MC.

The spider girl has sex with her true love, but never has sex with the MC. She has no route.

There is rape, where the MC takes and tortures the girls against their will.

The only slightly netorare-ish scene is when he lets a torturer torture proxima. However there is no sex, he stays fully clothed.

That being said, this game does indeed show a middle finger to all monster girl fans. I strongly advise you don't play it.

I never said it has NTR. I said it follows the same exact formula - as in, it is made to make players feel anger, jealousy and aversion towards the characters.

Oh, my misunderstanding. I've just seen a lot of people say he NTR's the spider girl, so I assumed that's what you meant.

I mean, I can see why you'd advise people who are only fans of vanilla monster girls stories not to play it, but to me all this honestly sounds pretty awesome. I like the idea of a story doing what Princess X seemingly does, to be honest.

It breaking the norm of the monster girl genre doesn't make it a bad game. (That being said, I haven't finished it yet, so I can't say for sure that it isn't, either.)

I'll probably write a review of the game from my point of view when I finish it. What I have read so far, and what I gather from your explanation of the endings all seem quite promising to me.

Actually if you like that kind of thing you will probably enjoy it. It's just that, a few very specific ending triggered me a lot.

For example, the ending where you end up with the metal cylinder, she/it creates an onahole and you have sex with it......

And to be fair, we don't really play these types of VN's for the story. i.e. even if it was vanilla, I wouldn't think it was a great VN. Just some decent porn.

Also, at this point, making a normal vanilla monster game would be breaking the norm. I can't think of even one.

Hey i just noticed this... but i never saw this in the original walkthrough, how do i get this route ?

I got it while I was trying to replay the finances forever ending. When I tried picking Yuuki right, I was taken to "the promise" ending.

This happened after I cleared every other ending in the game. Further it is mentioned on the otaku lair walkthrough, that this ending is only unlocked after clearing every other ending.

Probably, after clearing all endings, the next playthrough will get you this, regardless of choices. I am not sure though. Confirm this, if/when you get this ending please.

Well said! I was hoping that this would be something like Monster Musume with maybe some drama/SoL and routes for the monster girls.

But yea, after seeing this, I am glad I never tried it before looking around =/

Why are the Japanese so obsessed with R$pe anyway /sigh. Or Netorare for that matter, I dont get the people that enjoy that crap lol.

I'm not promising anything :p. I loved and finish The Power of a Kiss route, but so far i can't say i have much interest considering the let down that you can't go after the Lady... Also considering some of the routes i'm probably just going to grab a save file to be able to pull the "the promise" route, once i finish the ones that seem positive.

This does make me a bit curious. Why make a walkthrough for a game you haven't actually played? Not being able to check for yourself that it is actually correct is one thing, but beyond that, what's the motivation for it if you haven't actually played the game?
