Short, interesting, and in Japanese

I suck at finishing things when reading in English, and that's like four to forty times faster than my jp reading speed. Everything I ever finished in jp, including my most recent pickup 私は今日ここで死にます, was short and doujin. So I figure I'll just keep doing that, because why not?

I'm looking for short works, maybe 1k-8k lines long (わた死 is like 4k lines long), and I'd prefer things that give me something that you don't usually get in standard charage/moege plots - whether it would be standard in other media matters less. Bad art is fine, I read through ONE without issue. I don't care whether there's sex or not either. Just make it not boring, and it being offbeat in some way is a plus.

Other than that, it needs to be text hookable and the prose should preferably not be too difficult, though as long as it's not like, really hard there probably won't be that many issues.

Gothic Delusion, maybe?  I remember it being short and interesting, even if it doesn't really go anywhere.

Phenomeno (oh, I forgot this was translated, oops)

This is on my desperation list of recommendations from others (for when I run out of everything): https://vndb.org/v8436

Both Ren'ai Jijou games (Hataraku Otona and Hataraku Otaku)

Hotel. (if you just do the true ending)

To be blunt, Psychologic Love Comedy definitely picks its readers...

You should check out Kimihane Kanojo. It's about 6000 lines or so. Short and sweet.
The humor is brilliant in my opinion, and although the main focus is on the relationship between the girls, the true ending is not what you'd expect. It took me by surprise, and has me hyped for the sequel. (Which should come out within the year, I believe.)

It's good stuff. READ IT! :pyaa:

Huh, that short? I think we have a winner for now... I'll keep the rest in mind for afterwards as well.
