Alright guys. I have time for 3 anime this month.

Gimme recommendations from anime's released from the last season to the current one. Feel free to use my MAL but I've watched a lot more than I've bothered to put up there.

What's good this season?

My favorite's from this year has been yojou senkai and kakegurui.

Made in abyss.

Tsuredure children (short so you have room for more)

Finish Re:creators if you started it. If not then don't worry about it since it's a double season show.

This season nothing's begging to be watched...

Good old Mahoujin Guruguru. I remember watching that back in the day.

In any case, I am dropping UQHolder.
I was already getting bad vibes from them dropping Shinobu's episode, but ep 3 seals it.
I mean, I knew it was going to be rushed considering how far into the story they're apparently planning to go, but this is just terrible.

Looks like I'll be watching less anime this season too.

Just Because - Kinda the only one that I sort of enjoyed? Even though it is generic as hell, thus far. I'm ready for the drama too.

Kekkai Sensen - Cool style like first. But nothing else to offer besides.

Umaru - Kill me.

Imouto - K̷̨̢̖̗͖̥͉͎̲͔̆̈̓̎͛̈́̐̈́̀̀͋ì̵̡̟͎͓̩̖͚̙̬̩̥̎̿̈́̽͐̈́͝l̸̦̗͑͊̈́̎͒͂̌̐̐͝l̴̛͙͖̩̘͂̓͛̍͌̈́͛̐̀̽͐̌̐̚ ̵̧̯̖͕͈͙͇͖̘͕̣̑̉͗̃̽͑̀́̅̍̎̕̕ͅM̵̧̰͎̗̣͙͕̝͔̦̘̄̃e̷̡̹̠̭͒̈́

Bitch 1 - Trash. No need to watch more.

Week 2-3 update of shows I tried to watch or am still watching..

Tried to watch Inuyashiki episode 2. That was a big mistake. Another show that can go fuck itself and its thematic execution. Dunno how people get off on this shit.

Shoujo Shuumatsu remains entertaining with cute girls doing random shit in a post apocalyptic world.

Kino no tabi mildly entertaining with an original premise.

Netjuu no musume - simple enough romcom which is harmless mild fun.

Dies Irae - I don't think I can stomach much more of this crap. It's still pretty bad, and I'll likely drop it during or after episode 3 unless something magical happens.

Houseki no kuni - remains the most intriguing new show despite being 3d animation which normally puts me off greatly. I guess it's coming of age at last; like all technology it's more about execution than the technology itself.

Two car - not much in the way of entertainment despite being a sport anime that should be very exciting. Likely won't last another episode for me.

Blend S - harmless cute fun show.

Mahoutsukai no Yome - intriguing enough with very good production qualities though not as engaging as I'd have hoped.

Animegataris - not particular interesting show about an anime club but harmless filler to watch.

Imouto sae Ireba - really looking pretty bad. It's like the worst features of Eromanga sensei exaggerated but without the actual funny bits that redeemed it. I'll be surprised if it survives another episode in my watching.

Kujira no Kora - interesting premise but not really engaging. The characters aren't doing anything for me.

Gintama - saving up for binge watching.

UQ holder - still entertaining enough for having lived the negima past. Those who are actually reading the manga and enjoying at are telling me they're switching off in droves. Perhaps that's a good thing for those of us that are only watching the anime?

Black Clover - dropped this shit ages ago.

Juuni taisen - seems to have gotten into a formula for each episode now. Not as interesting or exciting as its battle royale premise sets out to be.

Shokugeki no souma 3 - more staple food. Others are still lapping it up but I'm finding it a little repetitive now though harmless enough to watch.

Evil or live - dropped this garbage only a few minutes into the first episode.

Konohana kitan - completely harmless story about cute fox spirits with almost no engaging story.

Urahara - dropped after 1st episode. Fluffy garbage.

Ousama game - dropped this drivel after 2 episodes.

Welcome to the ballroom (continuation) still good solid sports anime fun if not great.

Enmusubi (continuation) disjointed comedy which I'm still watching because it has romance.

Omiai aite - dropped very early on due to its coerced sex porn.

Osake wa fuufu - cute show about a wife and alcohol.

Shobitch - pretty flat comedy which I occasionally get a smirk out of.

Just because - fairly straight forward simple romance without much emotional involvement so far.

All in all the most MEH season in quite a while... I was getting spoilt there for a bit with surprises each season. It's safe to say that I probably won't need to update these descriptions any further this season unless something really surprises me (which it won't). At most I'll just drop a few more shows for being plain boring.

I dunno. It feels somehow very different from Eromanga-sensei. It's doing a pretty decent job at fleshing out it's side characters and from the look of it, the next episode will be dedicated to the protagonist. I'm not loving it, but it's actually quite decent right now and has some potential.

Feel pretty much the same. It's a good premise, but it's pacing and the way it's introduced everything just feels off.

Normally I do this by week 3, but I was a little busy this time around. So yeah, here's my thoughts on the anime this season.

Fate/Apoc: Still interesting enough to watch, but not so much that I'm approaching each episode with anticipation. It's not as difficult to follow the cast as I thought it would be since it looks like a handful of the masters won't even really matter. If nothing else, Shirou's desire for the grail intrigues me in a way.

Mahoutsukai: I'm still just as ecstatic for this anime as I was from the first episode. This anime continues to deliver an emotional and immersive experience, and I'm very emotionally vested in Chise. The most recent episode raises an interesting question about Elias' motivation to take in the protagonist as an apprentice while also delivering some heavy revelations. I'm also glad they're at least spending more than one episode on this setting too; I was a little worried there wouldn't be much in the way of scenario continuity with this being a slice of life series.

Shoujo Shuumatsu: I kinda lost interest. I don't really care that much for pure atmospheric anime; they're too slow and uneventful, imo.

Imouto sae: Good thing I don't let anime ratings dictate what I watch. This is a lot more fun than I was expecting it to be, and I was a little surprised there was no incest at all. This anime is more about an LN writer who just happens to have a strong imouto fetish, which does make for some interesting comedy here and there. I really do like the characters for the most part, especially the girl in the latest episode who apparently has a thing for playing on writers' darkest secrets. She's awesome!

Blend S: It's been a while since I've enjoyed a moe SoL this much. I especially like Maika's unintentional sadist moments, which are hilariously adorable, lol. The varied cast members and volatility of their workplace are working well to keep this from getting stale, which is pleasantly surprising for this type of anime (usually they start to slow down after a few eps).

Kino: Besides Mahoutsukai, this is only other anime I'm watching this season with some thought-provoking ideas. Kinda disappointed that it's episodic, but I'm not gonna hold that against the series since the story in each city is really good. I'd like to see the anime take a little less time in exploring different areas of the world and focus on the characters a little more. The philosophy behind each society is definitely interesting, but I'd have so much more appreciation for the series as a whole if the characters had more depth. It's still great as it is, though. The episode this week came fairly close to what I wanted from the characters, but the 1-ep story structure sort of watered down the emotional value. It's not easy to feel much for someone when they only get one episode.

I swear to God Moriko Morioka from Net-juu no Susume is me if I was half a decade older and dickless.

Hahaha, that's what makes it so fun to watch, isn't it? ^^ I only watch this, Juuni Taisen (which is trash, but I'm curious to see how low it can sink), Konohana Kitan (which is pure relaxation) and Mahoutsukai no Yome.

I see a lot of people having mixed feelings about Ancient Magus' Bride, but so far it's growing into one of my all-time favorites. I really love Chise as a character and the mood this series creates. It's rather slow, but that's the kind of pacing I enjoy the most in anime, and the production values are amazing.

Here's my thoughts on everything I'm watching.

Shoujo Shuumatsu - Unlike Ittaku, I have the exact opposite problem with this show. Shoujo Shuumatsu is not boring enough. This is mainly due to my comparing it to the manga, but it feels like they're trying to give so much more energy and pep to a manga, which is is a lot more subdued in it's approach. It's the same exact story, but there's so many changes to the tone of it that it loses the spirit of the original. This also means that the the manga and the anime are constantly clashing. We have a story that relies on it's more casual and reflective nature going against a direction that is trying to make it something it isn't. The art is also a lot worse than the manga. It's more detailed and colored, but the roughness of the manga gave it a wasteland feeling, while the anime has a destroyed city type of thing going on. This makes the strange structures stand out as even more jarring and distracting than the manga. It's still a decent enough show, but it could have been so much more.

Anime-Gataris - It's okay. The in depth anime talk is pretty amusing, but past that there's not much interesting going on with the story.

Ballroom e Youkoso - I hate this show so much. It's like every single bad sports manga cliche put into a sport that I could not give any less of a shit about. I've been watching it at 2x speed for the past two episodes because of how little I like it.

Blend S - the main appeal of it for me was the sadist faces, but the past few episodes have been lacking them, so since then I can only think of it as a very average show.

Shobitch - Don't know why I'm still watching this shit. It's not funny at all. Sex jokes and japanese humor don't go together at all.

Imouto Sae Ireba Ii - This is actually pretty alright, almost good even. People have only reacted to the amazing opening scene, but past that what you have is a competently written show about people and their passions or lack of passion for what they do. It's sad that it's probably being labeled as an incest show by people despite the complete lack of it.

Just Because! - It's good. The interpersonal drama between all the characters is very well handled and it doesn't fall into any of the cliches that most other shows of this genre do.

Kekkai Sensen & Beyond - It's very similar to the first season. That isn't bad at all, as it's still a fun show to watch, but there doesn't appear to be an overarching plot this season, which is a big disappointment.

Kino's Journey - Not nearly as good as the first season, but it still has some fantastic episodes. They're really hit and miss episodes, but the good episodes have all the great writing of the original series. I just wish that the selection of stories here was better, since it could be just as good as the original if it tried enough.

Konohana Kitan - Probably the best show this season. It had a few missteps in the beginning, but it's finally found it's footing as is now consistently on point. It uses it's supernatural world with japanese folklore really well to tell interesting lessons. It also has a fun cast of characters and some really strong yuri ships. Oh, and the characters are fox girls, so that also adds a lot to the show's charm.

Children of The Whales - It's okay. The art is fantastic, but nothing past that is all that great. The story as a whole feels messy and rushed. The characters are incredibly basic in their personalities and frequently act out of character. It also pushes it's ideas way too much to the point that it's almost insulting.

Love Live! Sunshine!! S2 - It's kind of eh. Never really liked the Aquors girls as characters, so seeing more of them leaves me more annoyed than happy to see them again. I also don't really like any of their music, and I think this season turned up the cheesiness levels too much, even for Love Live!

Mahoujin Guruguru - still really liking this show. The half this season isn't as strong as the first half and it has slowed down it's pace, but it's still a really fun show to watch.

I'm still enjoying Shoujo Shuumatsu. I pretty much like all the other traveling-the-post-apocalyptic-world type stories, so no wonder there.
I actually kinda like the dissonance between the setting the and girls' lightheartedness.
It's probably a good thing I haven't read the manga, though, since I often don't take well to such changes during adaptation.

God Fate/Apocrypha is such a frustrating watch for me. I like the initial concept and I enjoy the majority of servants, but the execution is fucking awful. The structure and pacing of the plot is all over the place, it feels like a visual novel with five different routes smashed together into a single narrative. There are some great moments sprinkled here and there, but there are some godawful turds as well that are massive groaners and many plot points that just don't make any sense. I think the largest poison of the show is Sieg and the decision to incorporate a human "host" for Ruler. Sieg is such an annoying fucking protagonist that is only inserted into the plot so the author can talk down to the audience about how complicated and difficult life is, HEY FUCKWAD I live in reality I don't need you telling me how complicated it is! In this story about personalities from all through time, I don't give a flying fuck about someones journey to find a personality. I want more moments with the servants working off each other, their own unique perspectives challenging each other and changing in accordance to these conflicts. Speaking of servants, what was the point of giving Joan a human host? To put up a lame excuse to involve a romance? Fuck you Yuichiro Higashide. I suppose I should be grateful that he set up the pretense so Rin and Sakura could be awkwardly shoehorned in Fate Grand Order.

Apocrypha feels like decent fanfiction, there are some enjoyable moments, but the story doesn't deserve any actual money.

Girls Last Tour is definitely a strong contender of Anime of The Year for me for its profound and poignant theme within the deceptively innocent premise, and I found myself disappointingly dropped Kino 2017 for its awful cinematography. I loved how Recovery of an MMO Junkie fits a J-Drama story in a very Anime setting perfectly and how AnimeGataris knew something called "restraint" in managing the characters' interactions to not veer too much into cheesy teen drama stripping all the actual otaku theme away (Gamers, for example).

Also Ousama Game is the Mayoiga of the season.

Addendum: I loved, LOVED Houseki No Kuni. It's totally miles ahead of its time.

Oh, almost forgot Juuni Taisen. It's currently head to head with Ousama Game in which will be the shittiest and most over the top anime of the season.

Spoiler

which of course Ousama Game wins by default. The fact that it's made by a hentai studio reinforces its own path to the Legendary status.

Some irrational impulse led me to actually watching through all the available episodes of Urahara and... Well, it definitely becomes something quite different around the fifth/sixth episode. Not a great series even after that, but I was actually surprised that it had a somewhat decent, creepy twist in it and wasn't just trying to give the viewer diabetes with every episode.

Still, whoever thought that any sane person would suffer through 4-5 episodes of pointless, boring fluff to reach the (somewhat) good parts should never participate in making an anime, or better any piece of media in the future. There's a few good ideas hidden there and I even dig that messy artstyle, but any potential it had was completely squandered with the horrible first impression it gave.
