So far this is looking to be one of the least interesting seasons in a long time :(

Of what I've seen (most of the shows by now), Princess principal is the most promising of the new shows so far.

Continuation of Re-creators is going to keep me going.

2nd season of new game should also be solid.

The ten millionth iteration of *gatari should also be solid.

So not much new that looks interesting but a few previous successes that will continue.

Well after the first episode of Koi to Uso I thought it was going to be painfully dramatic to watch but I was going to watch it anyway since it's a romance, but the second episode wasn't remotely like that thanks to the new character. It was actually amusing and enjoyable. Here's hoping it continues :)

I'm watching pretty much everything. Current best show of the season is Made in Abyss. Best thing of the season is Washio Sumi Movie 3. Worst show of the season is In Another World With A Smartphone. That show is godawful. Think of all the generic isekai tropes thrown into one show, except said show does literally nothing to make them interesting. That's what you get. This is a really strong season overall. I might drop a few shows, but I see myself sticking with most of them. If anybody wants a good comedy this season, I'd highly recommend Mahoujn Guru Guru. It's a brilliant parody of old school RPGs, and it's criminally underwatched. You don't realize how much it pisses me off that the Smartphone show is getting more viewership and has a better MAL rating than it. Man, I care way too much about MAL ratings.

As a person who is familiar with the source, I'd say don't hold your breathe. It goes in the expected love triangle route, and it uses it pretty dramatically. But it's a love triangle worth caring about because Lilina and Nejima are a match made in heaven.

Tenshi no 3P will save anime. This is the same as the loli basket ball series but this time with rock music! count me in!!

I should watch that then. Tenshi no 3P is actually better than I thought it'd be.

Gah that's so annoying. Not only will it be painful to watch... but you've unintentionally spoilt it too :( I may still watch it anyway.

Don't know what you mean by spoilt it, because I haven't really given away who wins in the end or any key plotpoints, just that it becomes a love triangle.

Dunno, it sounded like you referred to that couple as the successful one but I'll take it as unspoiled then. The only question I have then is: is there a winning romance or does it leave it unresolved like other painful ones? In spoiler tags in case that is too much of a spoiler for others I guess.

The manga is ongoing, so there is currently no winner. Where the manga is right now, it's not easy to predict who is going to win either. Lilina's the most deserving of winning though.

What a waste for Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart, it could have been an excellent slice of life/comedy =/

The anime is exactly what the VN is about though.
(Also the best anime of this season)

Welcome to the Ballroom is the aots obviously.

Tenshi no 3P! was really cute and caught my attention.

Knights & Magic has had better action scenes than I expected early on.

Restaurant to Another World...what can I see. Anime about food are rarely unsatisfying.

Kakegurui had a fun psychological aspect, tho the agehao faces are a bit over the top.

Classroom of the Elite should be another good psychological show, tho the obliviousness of the students in the first ep was a bit frustrating.

In Another World With My Smartphone's future is all in the hands of the adventure portion, because we all know it is going to be an unsatisfying romance.

Speaking of adventure, Made in Abyss is great at it. Can't wait for episode 3.

After another long hiatus with ongoing stuff, I'm pleasantly surprised to find a few good fantasy anime this season. Huh, maybe I'll keep this going after Summer's over too, lol.

Knight's and Magic (no idea why that apostrophe's there) is the standout show for me so far. This is the first time I've seen an anime combine fantasy elements with mecha, so just for that it's already a unique experience. And though I suppose it's being done into oblivion at this point, I really like how they incorporate the isekai theme in this one too. Like rather than being randomly thrown in and getting to be Mr. Awesome without doing much, he studies diligently and works hard to accomplish his goals over time. And due to how he's transferred to the other world, the way he becomes super OP makes sense. Ernesti's almost the exact opposite of Subaru too; they are both otakus, but Ernesti's an overachieving otaku with an obsessive, and surprisingly likeable, personality. He's kinda cute too. Oh, and the action scenes are fantastic! I think it's adorable how Ady hugs Eru all the time. Definitely shipping! I wouldn't say K&M is the most interesting series this season, but as far as enjoyability goes, I'd say it's my favorite so far. Not sure how good the plot's gonna be, but it has potential. At the very least, there is a grand goal that the protagonist is striving towards.

Made in Abyss definitely has something going for it. I like how it's focusing so much on the characters and world building, and that it manages to find a good balance between establishing roots and escalation. Even though I don't always care that much about pacing, it's refreshing to watch an anime that understands how it works. And because of how well the world building was handled up until now, Abyss gives me a lot to look forward to in the upcoming episodes.

Not entirely sure how to feel about the new Fate anime just yet, but it's promising. Shame it couldn't be Ufotable to animate it this time, but A1's doing a pretty good job so far. And I suppose it is preferable to having a terrible director like the one in charge of UBW. For a few episodes I thought the necromancer guy was gonna be the protagonist, but by episode 4 I realized that wasn't happening, lol. Ah who am I kidding, only Urobuchi gets to have a cool protagonist! I'm definitely liking the Red Saber; she's spunky. :3 But maaaan, I was having a hard enough time keeping up with a cast of 7 servants and masters in the other Fate storylines. 15 is gonna be tough. :kosame:

My watch list includes....

Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni - Definitely a derivative of Re;zero or some other title in the "reincarnation" genre, but it is the ultimate escapist fantasy so of course I'ma going to keep watching.

Kakegurui - Dem faces, not since Higurashi have I seen such dark emotion on animated visages. Also love the dark setting, kinda giving me murcielago vibes with its' flippant use of a bleak setting.

Tenshi no 3P! - Because Ima pedophile...... Joking aside (and that was a joke) I have a feeling the show will be allot like Kodomo no Jikan aka some interesting character stories under A FUCKTON of loli porn.

Princess Principal - God I love the alternative steampunk history asthetic, throw in some nice action action and possible yuri action and you are well on the road to being a personal favorite of mine.

Isekai Shokudou - A simple entertaing gimmick of a normal restaurant interacting with a fantasy world is enough to draw me in, I'm curious if the series will continue to follow the short-story format or if more complicated plotlines will be introduced.

Gamers! - I thought this show was going to be a run of the mill harem club anime, but that second episode had a surprising amount of heart to it.

Centaur no Nayami - I enjoyed the manga and have been enjoying the anime. That ending though, get's me everytime, not sure why the choice though.. I don't really remember anything in the manga that called for a deep feelsy song.

Tsurezure Children - Love stories boiled down to their basic form and that's just fine.

Hajimete no Gal - Cause Ima trash person.

New Game! - Enjoyed the first season and will enjoy the second.

Probably going to watch Fate/Apocrypha and Recreators when the majority of episodes are out.

Aho Girl - I've seen a lot of people complain that this is about making fun of the mentally retarded, and though I think the titular character of the show possesses certain traits that would generally exclude her from the label, others may not agree. That's fine. If you believe you would be offended by the concept, then perhaps it would be best to stay away. As for me, I find it hilarious.

Tsurezure Children - This is very much my thing. Odd couple flirting/messing about etcetera. Oh, yessss
