Has anyone gotten the DMM version of the game to work, either standalone or with a patch? I bought, downloaded, and unzipped it successfully, and I'm running with Japanese system locale for non-Unicode programs, but if I run just the game, it gives me this nastygram, which I'm pretty certain is telling me I should be running the whole OS in Japanese... which I can't imagine all you folks are doing because I've tried it once before and it's annoying:

Could be related to the serial key (or at least DLsite has this) it needs on first run. Run the Japanese version with this. (This doesn't do any changes to your game.)

That specific error he posted is 100% for sure a Visual C++ error and should have nothing to do with that, though I guess it may not hurt to try.

As for the walkthrough, there's one from the translator themselves. The walkthrough in question was only covered both of Midori's and Runa's routes though. It's still easy though to get other three routes even if the walkthrough didn't cover that. Here's the walkthrough in question below, and hope it'll be help for anyone else who play HatsuKoi.

Quote

Common Route:

04/08
	Of course that's fine.
	All right.
	Yeah. She is.
	It might work.
04/09
	...Runa?
	All for what?
	She's pretty cheerful.
	...But she was kinda cool.
	Take a photo.
	I'm a virgin!!
	You've seen right through me.
	We wanted to change the school.
	It was for revenge.
	To get closer to the girl I'm interested in.
	Actually...
	For sure.

04/22
	<Save 01>

Midori:

04/22
	<Load 01>
	The beautiful boss stuff.

04/23
	I'll let her handle it.
	It's nothing important, but...
	Try to fake ignorance.

04/24
	You shouldn't ignore the teacher.

04/27
	Makabe-san

05/02
	{At this point, you're locked in}
	Ask Makabe-san.

Runa:

04/22
	<Load 01>
	Little sister genre porn.

04/23
	I'll let her handle it.
	It's nothing important, but...
	Try to fake ignorance.

04/24
	You shouldn't ignore the teacher.

04/27
	Runa

As for the backlog, the solution was simple (Just change the font setting to 'With border and shadow'). No idea though why the font was very hard to read at backlog.

As far as I tried HatsuKoi in regard of phone, I think it was more of the interface (Accessory) thing unlike Steins Gate duology in which the route was determined by the use of the phone.

Great, thanks for the info.

Ps: Tatanka reminds me of dances in wolves where Kevin Costner acts like a bison and the Indians think he's crazy for a second :wahaha:. It was a good scene.

After compare the ranking of this site and translator's, this is the order (best to worst route-heroine):

Maya > Runa > Kyou > Yukino > Midori

I always leave the best route(s) for the end, so I'm going to play it backwards.

My question is: If I follow  this order, will it leave me with good sensations ?? :vinty:

P.D.: A good end not bitter.

Had a quick look at the script, and "inputted" appears exactly five times throughout the entire VN. You might not like the usage but it's most definitely not wrong.

Also, while it is correct that my native language isn't English, Triplicate's most definitely is. He's Japanese American like Decay said, and has been speaking Japanese and English from a very young age.

I am sorry but being raised and taught by a mother that has a masters degree in English, I know that "inputted" is not a proper word. Nothing I have read that is written in proper English uses this "word". While it may technically be a word, you never see it used in modern English and it does not look right. Would you say: He cutted in line or he hitted me? Same concept. Inputted.........it sounds like a child speaking.

You're both right. It both sounds odd to me and is perfectly correct. There's a rather plausible explanation of that phenomenon for this particular word here. I don't agree with the analogies you provide to "cutted" and "hitted", since you're literally making up non-words there, but the analogy to "put" on that page resonates pretty strongly with me since "input" obviously descends from "put".

Edit: Also, "it sounds odd and is perfectly correct" doesn't mean you should leave it that way. It means you should change it, because when it comes to written text in this genre, being right isn't nearly as important as sounding right.

is there a force choice in this game? or just my decision just plainly sucks?

Well, apparently you previous choices was favored to Runa. Yeah, that was the only forced choice in game (More like route transition though) in which case the heroines with the most point must be chose before entering her route. As for your decision, if you want yo play Runa it's alright although if you want to play other routes it's different though.

Yes, the bolded part is important. A person really needs to consider the purpose of a material.

Places where it can unquestionably be used (imo) are technical documents and programming manuals, because the purpose of this sort of document is to impart information to the reader and a word doesn’t have to sound nice, it just has to deliver information.

The purpose of genre fiction is to absorb the reader into a world and for this reason it’s often recommended to use ‘entered’ instead. The words mean the same thing and people don't scrunch their noses up at it (scrunching your nose at a text book is expected though, so if I were writing a textbook I'd use it as often as I could :P ) For genre fiction you often don’t want to jar a person out of a story to question your prose.

But whatever, I would have thought this would be a fair ways down on the list of priorities to fiddle with TBH *shrugs*

"Inputted" used to be considered  a made up or non word when I went to school. I guess the English language is being dumbed down as time goes on. However, I agree with some of what you posted and most of what Rooke wrote.

Half the shit you say now people 100 years ago would think you're an idiot for saying. Languages always change over time, and almost always to the displeasure of stuck-up elitists.

We are not talking 100 years ago here, and just because there is change does not mean it is right or correct. Heck, so many young people don't know how to read, spell, or speak correctly these days. It is pretty sad. I suppose arguing is going to get us no where.  Let's just go with what Rooke says.
