I'm planning to introduce VNs to my girlfriend and would just like to start with an all ages comedy otome VN from the seedbox.. I only found 3 within the categories I wanted to show her so please do make a pitch o what you think is best :D/> They are:

Starry ☆ Sky ~in Spring~

Yo-Jin-Bo ~Unmei no Freude~

Boku no Shokora

I have not played them since I'm still busy with other VNs but based on the synopsis, I may have some bias with Yo-Jin-Bo ~Unmei no Freude~ since it has some fantasy elements. There is also this urgency that the MC is trying to prevent an assassination so that could really be interesting..

hey

there's also hakuoki on PSP (very hard to run on emulator, better to use real psp)

and love revo on NDS (http://vndb.org/v3549)

and tokimeki memorial 1 and 2 (http://vndb.org/v857 and http://vndb.org/v858)

sweet fuse is in 23 days (http://visualnovelaer.fuwanovel.net/2013/07/sweet-fuse-release-date-is-27th-august-2013-preorder-now/)

^ also psp but i think this one will be easier to emulate

or you can always go for dangan ronpa? https://fuwanovel.net/novels/116

Oh, I want to begin with something lighthearted and with some humor with her first VN.. I don't wanna shock her with something which has a dark storyline then, I'll progress from there :D/>

Edit: Sweet Fuse looks awesome!

Starry ☆ Sky ~in Spring~

Yo-Jin-Bo ~Unmei no Freude~

Boku no Shokora

When I introduced my sister to VNs, I used 'Second Reproduction'. It's a light-hearted, romantic, funny VN (with a plot which changes depending which route you take) that is short and feels exactly like a shoujo manga. It's all-ages too (I think). It was a great success, she ended up loving it. I couldn't recommend using Starry Sky in Spring, or Yojinbo - they're not as good. If you want to introduce someone to VNs, you should use the best ones you can get your hands on.

I know nothing about Boku no Shokora.

I also second Aaeru's suggestion concerning Hakuoki. Quality, QUALITY game!

^ The Second Reproduction is actually dark compared to the others on this site. Yes, it has some light-hearted moments, but for the most part it's centered on politics, morals, and religion.

I'd start with Boku no Shokora since it's short (less than 2 hours) to get her into the feel of what visual novels are like. Then follow up with either Starry Sky ~In Spring~ or Yo Jin Bo. The latter has more comedy though imo. Sweet Fuse is coming out at the end of this month, so if she has a PSP or can emulate it, that's a good one to show her after SS & YJB. From what I've seen it's a bit more serious but is still light-hearted for the most part. Save Hakuouki or The Second Reproduction for last since it's more plot-orientated and the romance gets casted off to the side at some points.

tl;dr: Boku no Shokora --> Starry Sky ~In Spring~ or Yo Jin Bo --> Sweet Fuse --> Hakuouki or The Second Reproduction
