There are some visual novel 'emulators' that I know of.

You can use ONScripter Plus to play games that use the NScripter engine. Though this app isn't perfect at the moment. Very few NScripter codes can't be read by this app = Crash.

Or if the game is using Kirikiri engine, Kirikiroid2 is another method. Other than my tablet's slow performance, I haven't stumbled into any problems in this app.
