Is the physical PS Vita version of Sharin going to be compatible with PlayStation TV?

I can't say for 100% certain, as it isn't in development yet, but I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be! (And I'll make personally sure that the need for Vita TV compatibility is properly communicated to the developer handling the port.)

Q.Will the physical version of the game include the 18+ content on-disc?

A.Unfortunately, we won’t be able to offer physical copies of the 18+ version of the game. There are a few factors behind this, including the fact that adult goods are not allowed to be sold on Kickstarter

That's not quite accurate, a small amount of Visual Novels Kickstarter campaigns have gotten adult physical versions (there is about 7 of them that I know of, 6 of which are OELVNs though), really it's fine as long as you don't talk about it too much. Don't talk about it especially not on the Kickstarter page itself, don't show anything sexy directly on the Kickstarter such as Dakimakuras (it's fine in Backerkit, just as long as it's heavily censored to make it SFW enough) and so on.

Sekai Project was able to sell an adult physical version of Chrono Clock simply by saying that the physical version was the Denpasoft edition of the game.

So it is possible to sell adult goods on Kickstarter, you just have to be careful with the language you use.

Yep.  Frontwing is apparently doing what SP used to do in the beginning of their Kickstarter usage, which is being incredibly cautious past the point of reason.  You'd think see the Chrono Clock Kickstarter and realize that what they're stating is factually incorrect (as long as you're smart about it), but I guess they're more worried about potential consequences (a la the Grisaia funding removal for the "offensive" dakis) than pleasing their customers in that situation, which I find pretty disappointing.  I'm really not liking their treatment of the h-scenes so far, considering that they were only willing to put them back in in the first place when they were faced with the massive failure of their KS campaign.

What makes no sense to me is that they directly state that there will be a patch to put the porn back in, but they're apparently too scared to make a physical with it already in there?  lol

It's clearly stated in Kickstarter's TOS that pornographic material is not allowed to be sold. Yes, some companies have gotten away with it by being coy with their wording, but the last thing we want is someone reporting the campaign and getting it shut down. And that's not to mention the other reasons we listed, which would still be applicable even if adult items were allowed on Kickstarter.

We have gotten the a-okay for a standalone 18+ digital version though, and we'll be updating the Tumblr post with that information soon (when I get a free moment from all this launch hullabaloo).

They just passed the halfway point, $40k, four and a half hours in. With such a strong start it's already basically cemented that they'll reach their goal, it's now just a matter of which stretch goals they'll reach. It took about nine days to reach the $40k mark last time, for a point of comparison.

I'm pretty sure you're only at risk of getting your funding removed if you directly state that there's porn in the game (sooooo many ways to rephrase that to make it sound ambiguous), or you do what SP did and show 18+ material, which anyone with two brain cells to rub together could realize was meant to be pornographic (in their case, it was nude dakis that were censored but obviously partially naked).  Obviously, we can only base these assumptions based on past events, but even then, the people running Kickstarter are extremely erratic with how they enforce their porn rule.  I remember h-manga getting funded on Kickstarter, but I can't find the link, unfortunately.

Also, sorry in advance about splitting hairs, but nowhere in their rules does it say "you can't sell pornographic material".  They appear to have a blanket ban on pornographic material in general, which one could easily interpret to mean that things like 18+ patches, as part of the campaign, are against the rules.  The key word there is "interpret", because they haven't explained them in a meaningful way.

These guys seem to have learned from their mistakes, unlike whoever "localized" ChiSingura ... Launching a prefundia, launching the Kickstarter a second time with barely any changes and not really doing anything from the Prefundia, then blaming it on "someone else from the company started the Kickstarter again".

See what a difference figuring out what your customers want makes? :)

I'm curious about the standalone 18+ version. Apperantly we will be able to switch our steam key for that version through backerkit. Wonder where they will sell it, and whether there is any catch to it. (They seemed to hint to that being a possibility on twitter.)

Either way though, I'm glad they are making it a thing. I am not a fan of using steam unless I have to, and always prefer DL versions.

No catch, there was a slight possibility we might have had to restrict it somehow but we we able to confirm that there's no caveats for the standalone 18+. It'll be a simple matter of choosing which you want on BackerKit and then receiving your key(s).

That's great.

Restrictions for what is supposed to be an unrated version does sound a bit unappealing. (On that note, this is actually one of the reasons why I don't particularly like patches + steam, as it usually comes with some annoying restrictions and such, like not being able to take screenshots in game of the 18+ scenes etc. Rather small stuff, but it really irks me. :P

I realize this might not be something you have the answer to at the moment, but in case you do, do you know whether or not this version will be released at the same time as the steam version? Or will additional work make this particular version take longer?

It may take a little longer yes, I don't know anything more specific than that at this point, but I doubt it would be more than a couple weeks, maybe a month at absolute worst.

At this point I'll nump in when and if the vita port will be confirmed.

Are you going for a physical version? If so, you should hop on now to help the Kickstarter reach the PS Vita stretch goal and you'll be able to choose which version you want in Backerkit.

If you want to get BOTH Physical PC Version and PS Vita, you can do it by choosing "PC" in Backerkit and adding the PS Vita physical version as an Add-Ons in Backerkit.

At worst in the unfortunate event that by the end of the 30 days it does not look like the PS Vita stretch goal will be reached, you would still be able to either cancel your pledge or lower it to 1 USD.

Remember unlike with IndieGogo you will not be charged before the Kickstarter campaigns ends and it reached it's goal.
