If so, Quartett! for the music, Katahane for art/aristocracy (alternatively, grab Rondo Leaflet if you're proficient enough in japanese) and any of the WAB games (aka, "What a Beautiful..." series from Hikaru Sakurai) for a mixture of fantasy, dystopia and specific atmosphere/color patterns. If you haven't yet, you really should read Planetarian, too. From late things I have read, I'd recommend Kitten Philia just for the artsy stuff, but it's propably way too much for you to swallow.

*having read through those walls of whatsnot and ended up being too demotivated (as of now) to answer in the same fashion, so-------

you might want to try looking into some of imayui´s works, as they´re mostly, if not all
1) surreal as fuck
2) poetic as fuck
3) unique as fuck

depending on how much you´re able to stomache i´d also recommend reading "kurai nichiyoubi", which should hopefully end up being a meaningful experience to you (at least it was in my case) forwhy said title has quite some values to it - despite its dark-ish aura or rather gloomy attitude, btw. better not go in expecting some fluff only because it´s been rated all-ages, as such expectations couldn´t be further away from the truth. anyway enjoy!

edit: i´ll try to be a little more talkative later and come up with different suggestions, but wont do so until i´ve returned home.

First of all, thank you all for reading this and for wanting to help me.

Now, I'm not new to the Manga-Bunka 'Manga culture' at all. I've been watching anime for at least seven years now, and I've explored its many many other aspects thoroughly also. However, when it comes to VN's, yup, I'm still new; therefore, I'd be grateful to anyone wanting to help me start. :sachi:

Towaie,
Nonetheless, my taste is kind of too specific to find easily using regular search methods; thus, as I said, this only a mission for VN experts. Therefore, if you can contribute in some way, please do; moreover, if you know anyone that can help, please also direct him\her to here. I'd be very thankful. (^v^) :sachi:

My request is either based on the story quality or based on the art quality.

Japanese is not a problem; I speak Japanese fluently. Translation is not required.
Intercourse is OK, blood and gore are NOT (except if the VN is extraordinarily, exceptionally, outstandingly astonishing case only).

Based on the Story (This one is easier).
I'll attempt to give as much general demands as I can. the required genres are:

  1. Music-themed VN's: I mean like real music (notes and stuff), and the more detailed it is, the better; even if it turns to a lecture, I don't mind.
  2. Art-themed VN's: Again, the deeper, the better.
  3. Fantasy VN's: The presence of an archer (or at best cases a witch) as a main character is an obligatory condition. Plus, I'm not just talking about Western fantasies (dragons, demons, kings, fairies, angels, mages, etc.), Eastern (especially ancient Japanese) fantasies are as much welcome. If the story is based on a real folklore tale, it's a plus.
  4. Aristocratic-themed VN's: I mean like Medieval, French lords, kings, princes, knights, dukes and elegant, luxurious scenery. School life-themed VN's: One of the main character must be an caring Onee-chan or a Sensei that protects the protagonist.

PS: As for the first two genres, it is OK if they're not so detailed and simple, provided that they present excellent art, story, or even ST's.

Now this was the easy part. Here comes the real thing.

Based on the Art (Warning: for hardcore, veteran fans ONLY!)

I am completely obsessed with beauty and art--that's why I became an artist in the first place. By 'based on the art' I mean the concept art of the backgrounds, characters, color theme, etc. The art of the Manga-Bunka completely astonished me, and I would like to learn more about it and contribute to it; hence, don't be shocked of the following statement: I have an immense love for Manga art, so I'm willing to watch whatever stupid anime, or play the dumbest VN in history if its art is worth it. To me, art is always a heavenly experience, so don't mind the story or any other element here; just the art.
Now, Let's get to business.

First let me introduce some main colors for you as guides. If the color theme of the VN revolves about one (or more) of these colors, then it's OK. The colors are:

Purple, Violet, Gold, and neon saturated Blue, Cyan & Magenta.

Now, here are some required concepts are:

  1. Near Future: Purple, Neon Night (Most Important)
some examples to demonstrate this theme are:
    1. Animes: Guilty Crown (a perfect great example) or Plastic Memories.
    2. Music Videos: Such as the environment in these clips:

    3. Artists' Illustrations: Such as

I think you got the idea.

  2. Near Future: Eco-Friendly Tech
    Some examples:
    1. Animes: Infinite Stratos
    2. VN's: Cocoro@Function!

  4. Ancient Nature: Violet, Night Solitary
    1. Animes: Nagi no Asukara

  5. Ancient Nature: Angelic, Cyan sky
    1. Animes: Rokka no Yuusha, SAO (S1)

      http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=55976003

Other welcomed concepts would be concepts, such as Pink Sakura, Orange Momiji Autumn, Cheerful Yellow Cuties, or any other concept that utilize the above-mentioned colors or close colors. In addition, even if the novel's concept art doesn't utilize these colors, it would also be welcomed, provided that the VN represents an excellent example of the intended concept art.

Now, I've put through a lot, and I'm really sorry. However, this is the least I need to do rapidly enter the world of VN and to begin to not just consume from it, but to produce also. Help me please if you would like to support the industry. :D:mare:

Of course, I'm not asking you to present titles for all concepts or themes or anything; I would be grateful if you just throw two or three titles. Moreover, to ease it up a bit for you; just copy the names of the themes or the concepts from the following semi-form, and throw in the titles you would like to recommend next to them. I'll check them later.

Help me please, and I'll be your friend. :D
Thank you. ^^

    • VN Title:

I'm just going to list VNs based on the 'high quality, fantasy, art, music).  There are music-themed VNs out there, but most of them have pretty dated art styles because they were made in the middle of the last decade...

I'd suggest:

Hapymaher (awesome art, best VN soundtrack I've ever heard)

Tenshi no Hane o Fumanaide (excellent story, first-class art)

Evolimit (if you can stand some violence, it has an excellent story, first-class soundtrack, and a unique art style)

Amatsutsumi (School-life, fantasy, high-quality art style, reasonably hq music)

Irotoridori no Sekai (high-quality art, nice music)

Otome ga Tsumugu Koi no Canvas (high quality art, protagonist and most of the characters are involved with the art world, good music)

If I think of more, I'll add them...

Edit: Oh, and as a rule of thumb, using 'school life' as a measuring rod is fairly meaningless with VNs, since around 80% of non-nukige (nukige being VNs that exist solely for sexual content) are school-life based.  Instead, you should focus on the parts that are most important to you... music and art in general seeming to be your focus, judging by the original post.  There are relatively few aristo-type VNs, though they exist (Koi no Canvas's characters are all wealthy, except for Inui and the protagonist, for instance).  I'd honestly suggest Ojousama wa Gokigen Naname for VNs based in high society (though it is a fairly grim one).  Fantasy high-society VNs are pretty much nonexistent, though Fata Morgana (available on Steam) apparently has some of that.

I'm very confused (though also interested) by all that, especially the colours part.

First off, I don't think it's wise (or nice) to just exclusively ask for veterans. I'm not a veteran by any means, but I am a huge lover of art like yourself (as I explain here, I hope you consider reading it) and I think the experience/advice of someone like me is no less valuable than that of someone with a firmly established idea of what's good and what's bad in media. In my experience, most people here care more about writing, and just distinguish between 'good art', 'bad art' and 'old art'. But I digress.

I can't really answer your question, so I suppose you're not wrong for asking for veterans either. (though if you haven't played it already, I do recommend the game Transistor, which uses a lot of what you would call purple and green, with a strong influence of art-nouveau and Klimt)

I'd love to talk to you about the nature of art in multimedia fiction sometime though, my enjoyment of art seems to be quite different from yours. Art, to me, is not just there to create some high-concept colourful atmosphere like you seem to desire, but more to channel the artist's emotions. It can be extremely beautiful even when it's extremely drab.

I'd also love to see your MAL if you have one.

Good luck in your search anyway.

 Golden, Deep Sunset

https://vndb.org/v9208 (OP Movie) Don't get too excited though, the OP's likely the best part of the game.

I'd second Tenshi no Hane o Fumanaide, the art directing, overall it's just a great vn.

It's really hard to find VN with anything close to those kinds of arts -- If there was, you can bet I'd playing it. Sure there is detailed art, but I'd be cool to see art that not only is detailed, but liberating or captivating. Generally, looking for VN's that possess the atmosphere and can extend the world of such images, is a fruitless affair.

Oh, maybe this will do: https://vndb.org/v11990 Though it's full of a quasi-science dream stuff, I haven't gotten through all of it, but I wish there'd be more art like the cover (there really isn't much from my experience. It was very cute though, contrasting with the somewhat brain-numbing content.)

"Fault" is probably a good one too (check out that main menu bg). It's also fantasy.

I'll randomly drop https://vndb.org/v7792 if the color scheme thingies catch your attention.

Finally, Buncha PV's

Spoiler

Touhou PV's

Some 3-d effects, inversion effects, lighting effects, all kinds, some really nice art

Other PV's

still stuck in a train (since almost 10h, huh?), but oh well just fuck it, like promised here´re some additional titles which should meet the criteria (not all of them though) of yours in terms of story, setting, visuals, literary value and memorable characters:

kaihou shoujo sin
kuroshiro no difference
tsuyukusa eu4ea
minstrel -kowareta ningyou-
titles by kagehoushi, especially "yami o hashiru yaiba no kirameki"
kagerou, though good luck getting your hands on the sidestory, as it took me quite some efforts when
begging its author for showing a little mercy
re;world vol. 1-3
tunneloop
noesis 1+2
iranaiko gemu
kitan
alice in dreamworld
w-standard,wonderland lv. 0-1
majority of amateru´s works
the rather short, but pretty unique & fun kikikoi 1 + 2
& lastly a series you definitely shouldn´t miss on out reading no matter what, called "lisbelluru no ma"

might be noteworthy that neighter are they all hookable, nor do prose-fags find most of them appealing.

wish i had more time at my disposal to possibly come up with others, but hope is there you will find at least some of them entertaining, if not great. enjoy!

edit: and as a general reminder that´s not specifically meant at you, always remember to support authors by actually buying their titles, especially if they happen to be small doujin-circles. nothing more detestable than certain dudes & gals calling themselves true fans, while at the same time have no qualms in playing their part of ruining someone´s dream/buiseness, even more so since most doujinshi around are basically cheaper than a sandwich. same goes for ones willingness of lending creators a helping hand if asked to, means going typo-/bughunting as an act of gratitude.
