Don't forget about the Shuffle fandiscs. The real reason we won't get more Gahkthun fandiscs is that MG only has so much manpower and they'd rather spend that releasing new Steampunk series games instead of werld SoL fandiscs.

Those were listed as sequels on VNDB, and since I haven't read them myself, I wasn't sure if they were true fandiscs or not.

Huh, could have sworn they have announced plan for the FD. Oh well.

Someone apparently started a fan TL project for it, so that might be what you're thinking of.  I don't think they made much progress on it, though.

Actually, the Shuffle games are sequels, not fandisks. Shuffle does have 1 fandisk, and that was not TLed by MG. Only the sequels, Tick! Tack! And Really? Really! were TLed, neither of which are fandisks per say, but sequels.

(This is the actual Shuffle fandisk: https://vndb.org/v6427)

Basically dead, last time I checked.

Have a this, I suppose:

I wasn't really paying much attention, but this trailer's chock-full of CGs. Either they've spoiled over half of them or there's more than I had thought -- which could, if I dare be bold, indicate that this title may be longer than it seems.

There's at least one CG where a nipple is at least 70% visible. Go, all ages!* (not the one I just linked, that one's completely safe. Yep)

Overall: Extremely low physique variation, some ridiculous poses (like, have you seen the awkward positioning some characters take? Fist up in the air, probably standing on one foot whilst engaging in normal dialogue? The worst part is that they've definitely got some normal poses), and some pretty good art. Notably, there's a voice actress in there that reminds me of Yukie from Majikoi, and I love her voice.

Frankly, were this not such a a ludicrous premise, and were this not about idols, I'd be much more excited. The everyday slice-of-life looks like the sewage I'd easily and happily gobble up:

*For the uninformed and thick of head: This is a jab at the outdated terminology used to refer to titles without H-Scenes.

Better make a more child friendly version of this game where the visibility is reduced back down to 15%. This is just too much!

70% nipple is fine for a 17+ game, but if they want to tag it All Ages, I believe the NPT (nipple percentage tolerance, obviously) is only 7.5%.

Tried out the demo, and I shall leave my impressions here:

General:

Spoiler

-Good presentation overall. A decent set of options. Standard Pulltop (basing myself on KoiRizo).

-A "TIPS" system, which seems to consist of Translation/Lore Notes. Occasionally pops up in the side to provide us with information.

  • Thank you for the TIP on 'idols'. I had no idea what they were. Speaking of which, your explanation seems to be otaku-biased, but I honestly don't know enough about the scene to complain.
  • Hoho. The TIPS font permits "café". The main text goes for "cafe".

-The prose is fairly simple, which is not only to be expected, it's way better that Moenovel's last effort. They have produced a decent translation.

  • American Spelling, if you were wondering.
  • It's looking like it leans toward the literal side of things, sorta: "It's about that time!".
  • Iffy constructions here and there. Nothing really wrong. Iffy really is it.
  • Commas. Commas everywhere. Very Poltroonesque, though it generally also means that it's wrong on occasion.
  • They capitalise every word after ellipsis. So at least that's consistent.
  • "Girls with dreams of idolhood had come, and then gone."
  • "Her performance might have been special, it might not."
  • One line I don't quite get. The meaning was quite clear, but I don't see how it makes sense. May be a mistranslation. May be my limited processing capabilities.
  • strut one's stuff? Okay, that one's new. Didn't know the expression myself.
  • Found a typo. A missing space "then...What's".

-The flying unicorn?! They're not using honorifics. That's... well, that.

-They use '' instead of "" to denote direct speech. I like ''. Doesn't really matter.

-Past tense narration.

  • These tenses... Past narration kind of confuses me, especially since there's stuff that shouldn't be past even if that's how he's narrating.

-Generic Pop Idol OST mixed in with some "divine" "old Japanese instruments" influence.

-That's their school uniform? They saving on the fabric costs or what?

-"the crazy outfit in front of me". You don't say? These outfits are skimpy at best, prohibited by law at worst, and the camera angles seem to focus on the chest area in particular. Colour me surprised at the blatant pandering.

-Blergh, I really don't appreciate 'idols'. Through no fault of the VN, of course.

Plot Impressions (may contain spoilers up till the end of the demo):

Spoiler

-Let's put aside the crazy setting, shall we?

-This guy (protagonist) makes no sense whatsoever. He is informed about everything and yet it's his "first time" experiencing everything. He's pretty well-versed in the goddesses' history -- this is fine. He's walking around Akihabara and listens to a girl singing; sounds like his first time, even though a girl singing around there is a common sight. Immediately after this experience, he goes on to try a maid cafe for the first time. Because... why not. And all he asked for was  the first random thing that popped into his mind? Is he a bloody tourist or a resident? He talks as if he's the latter, yet acts as the former.
He is the latter, though. Apparently went out for a walk or something. For plot convenience.

-Wow. This truly is a deep visual novel. One of the characters is performing what borders on pornography just to get more fans.
Uh, sure, but I don't think they mean to take it as anything more than comedy. In fact, they even justify their actions.

Less than an hour long if you're not me, I think.
Doesn't really let us get a grip on anyone's personality. Maybe Kagura's. A bit.
It does introduce the setting properly, I guess.

I'm definitely planning on reading this BUT, I fully intend to find out if this'll be a long (at least 10 hours) or short title. And if it's divided into routes then I'd need at least 15. My reading speed, of course, which does not seem to be all that fast.
