Suzu Fanatic
I wont lie, I'm looking forward to it - I've liked all the mini stories they've been bleeding out of us - so I'm alright with seeing how they do with a new take/cast. But....it'd be nice to actually have the original trilogy finish up before hand, you know? Still haven't read the second one, as I'm waiting on the +18 release (even though I've had it sitting in my steam library for months now)

No porn, episodic and cute girls wth guns. For me, one of the main selling point of the trilogy is self-sufficient, extraordinary and witty protagonist. I wonder, how good is Aoi Haruto. I don't find this description "Haha, my classmates often tell me I'm a total asshole." very inspirational. Dreamysyu

Personally, I don't mind the new cast, but just as long as there's some acknowledgement to the original cast like them appearing as either supporting characters or cameos (I hope for the former though). But if they're left out entirely, I don't think I'll enjoy this much because it wouldn't be the same "Grisaia" that I'm used to. Oh God, I just had an image of flash through my mind of the original cast all appearing as teachers for the new school. Perhaps one or two cameo appearances of other characters. Anymore than that would run the risk of completely compromising the entire new cast we are suppose to be focusing on in this title. jetpack003
A new Grisaia game that has a new protagonist? Sounds like a typical sequel to the series. On the other hand, a new series of any sort can be a hit or a miss depending on the content for it. I'm not a fan of it being released in parts or volumes. To me, it takes away the experience. I guess I'll have to wait for the full version to come out.

I know there are a bunch of Spanish translations, but this is still a very minor market and language in the VN world. The only people I know keen on VNs are here on Fuwa and tend to be from the major cities like Barcelona (that's the one that comes off the top of my head). I am really the alpha geek of rural Cantabria. Hey, Frontwing's Spanish PR here! Answering your question, nope, I don't think there are many VN companies that are doing Spanish-oriented promotion. But since I joined the marketing team to support @SpeedBeatz and well, it's my native language after all, we're trying to measure (and expand if possible) the status of the Spanish-speaking scene. Which is pretty small as you said, but who knows what might happen in the future! XReaper

Decay
Eh, I'll play this, and maybe I'll like it. But I don't think I prefer the linear episodic approach to these kinds of stories. And I definitely would have preferred a new IP instead of them just leaning on the Grisaia name. Hopefully this can differentiate itself in meaningful ways. Which is pretty small as you said, but who knows what might happen in the future! Good to know. Honestly, you (and every VN maker) should focus on Steam releases and also "stealing" a part of the anime market. Anime is far more established since it has taken root here from the 90s. It also experimented a boom in the early 2000s. I've followed it since 1998. To give a simple idea, some visibiltiy in anime conventions could work, as many anime fans own a PC (presumably to watch anime there), so you're halfway there to make them buy your games. Also transition from anime to VNs is nearly seamless. I say this because, to my knowledge, anime conventions in Spain don't really feature VNs. Quote BTW will your spanish releases also use that? I've been thinking of trying some spanish vns but that "formal" speech that spain uses is stupid. In fact it's the opposite, "vosotros" is informal second person plural, "ustedes" is formal. Just like German "du" and "Sie". You can't bash others if you don't even know the language... MiyazawaLulu

It was taught to us that vosotros is formal language used in Spain while ustedes is formal used in Spain and Latin America. Even if I'm wrong it doesn't change the fact that it sounds stupid. "ustedes" in spanish from latin america (and in most of the countries probably) is not formal or informal because there is no other way to say "you", in english you say "you" to reefer both plural and singular person while here and in the rest of latin america, is "ustedes" for plural and "vos" informal and "tú/usted" formal, both singular. "Vosotros" is not used outside spain, it was used in my country many years ago and in many other countries too but not anymore, using vosotros now will make everyone think that you are either some kind of idiot or that you are trying to be funny but not in a very clever way... Okarin
Likewise, we in Spain find most Central and Southern American accents disagreaable. What's stupid is this whole conversation and topic (about accents of Spanish), however. Every language, if spoken in two areas separated by a wide gap, evolves differently. There's nothing stupid about that.

At least, Supipara is the new IP. But I am afraid, they will share the same fate, because no one likes short episodic games that reuse the same assets over and over again. Thank's God, no crowdfunding this time, so the West will get all the volumes no matter what.

Shota_Victory
I have no interest in Grisaia, so I'm probably not picking this up. That being said, releasing this before Eden in the West is probably a really bad idea. Episodic games in general seem to be what Japanese companies think we want, despite the fact their performance over here is never very good, with the exception of When they Cry. I just hope the whole "short $9.99" VN thing dies out soon; it's counter-intuitive to the history and the structure of the medium. The only way to sell visual novels to the majority of Steam users is by making glorified nukige, then bribing some popular streamers to play it. Anything else will just alienate both Steam users and the core audience that actually buys the games.
