They're talking about maitetsu now.

"We believe we have a solution that will make everyone happy" but they can't announce it yet.

18+ version of baldr sky is still in negotiation.

I really wonder what this can be. For them to really think it will please everyone, there has to be a full 18+ patch involved in some way, so maybe they are open for a possibe fan patch release later on, like with Shiny Days? I don't see how there is a way for them to actually believe a censored release will make everyone happy. Well, it is Sekai Project we are talking about, so who knows, lol.

The fact that they made a new panel for Denpasoft only talk is at least slightly promising on the 18+ front of their games.

And hey, the new yuri game looks pretty cool, so it's not a complete bust.

btw. am i the only one who starts getting annoyed by the recent flood of yuri-based works (no specific publishers)? almost as if the genre is (forcibly)being made into the new moe, and it´s giving me the creeps.

It's almost like a fashion trend: Nobody really gets it, but everyone is desperate to follow it just because the others do.

ayo it´s not like i´m against yuri by default, as there have been works i´ve enjoyed, but them all artificially hyping up the genre, making it seem like each and every work is a masterpiece thats stand way above others, is what sullies my mood. feels like somehow getting re-educated/brainwashed by the industry itself into non liking different types of stuff anymore.

edit. granted, those are still semi-paranoidal future shenanigans, but i cant help but being reminded at the time when moe first started emerging the oceans of evilness.

I don't think there's any "solution" that will make everybody happy, unless that "solution" is to just release the 18+ version unmodified like a normal 18+ release.

I think a free patch would satisfy most people. Though it will make people question if Nutaku is really committed to uncensored releases. They can yell payment processors till hell freezes over, but if MangaGamer can sell Sweet Sweat and Imouto Paradise people are gonna call BS on that.

It's a trend followed primarily by one company: Sekai Project. MangaGamer has dabbled a little in it as well, but generally is taking a slow and tempered approach, most of their works are of other genres. Denpasoft so far is pretty close to 100% yuri, however. It's honestly getting really, really tiring.

Nobody here seems to mention MG's announcements here. Though I agree that it's probably nothing worth mentioning (exception being maybe the 2D fighter game though I am not interested in that one at all) ... All in all, I agree with the statement somebody posted above that all big announcements were on Otakon and AX.

Well, Flowers was a high-profile recent release in this territory as well, and one of JAST USA's tiny number of announcements this year was localizing the updated Katahane release. Two games don't make a trend, of course, but JAST's sample size is tiny to begin with, so it's hard to really draw any conclusions there.

One potential problem I found after watching the Denpasoft panel was their emphasis on appealing to different fetishes as a strategy going forward, which sounds like it would be a good idea since they’re trying to appeal to different demographics, but ultimately doesn’t mean much if the titles they license aren’t even that good. Overall, I think equating porn to fetishism is missing the point. Instead, they should be trying to partner with notable nukige developers who have titles of reliable quality. MangaGamer has been much better at picking up titles that are of higher production value than your average nukige (and also have hentai OVA adaptations for more exposure). I actually like yuri, but hardly any of the yuri VNs Denpasoft has picked up look all that remarkable, even if they are decent. Koikuma was a smart pickup: good art from a popular artist. Those are the kind of titles they should be searching for.

In fact, they already have the right idea with Sekai Project: license VNs from notable developers. With Denpasoft, they should focus on doing the same. Instead of asking for fetishes to appeal to, they should ask for specific developers or titles. Do a survey and ask for nukige/adult-focused eroge that people want. That way you're getting specifics and not just generalities.

Personally, I just want them to focus on guaranteeing more 18+ versions of the titles they license. And for them not to be afraid to license something that might not fit on Steam (and isn't necessarily a nukige).

So, no one gonna comment about Wagamama High Spec? Is it really getting a Kickstarter, while it was originally planned to be released shortly after the japanese?

Disclaimer: I did not hear the stream, and I don't actually know anything. But I will nonetheless venture a guess based on what they've been doing recently: I expect they're doing the same thing they did for Chrono Clock, where they do a modest Kickstarter specifically to sell physical goods, to make sure there's enough money out there to make physical goods worthwhile. The game will get a digital release regardless, based on previous announcements, but I don't recall them announcing anything about physical goods for WagaHigh previously, and the Chrono Clock physical goods Kickstarter went well enough, so I expect they'll keep doing that.

No one's commenting probably because it's not really worth raising an eyebrow over. I'm not sure what the original release estimate has to do with anything, they've obviously blown way past that.

People get too overly invested in release estimates, they aren't promises and they weren't selling you anything based on this one. It missed the estimate, oh well.
