I can't take a show thats supposed to be a dark grounding reality of the harem genre with the focus on fanservice shots and characters that all forget their brains when it matters. So many times in school days characters make the most outrageously unrealistic decisions possible. It was just a huge stupid melodrama. The ending is the only part that I can say is reasonably well done. OT, though... hm. I am probably going to have to say highschool DxD. It's the best worst show I've ever seen. And ugh. Skeith Posted July 12, 2013 Share Posted July 12, 2013 Well, for my "general" friends that like anime, I'm ashamed/embarrassed to introduce to them any show that has ecchi, even if it's a show that actually has good animation, plot, etc., but really just included fan service a little too much. I tried introducing a show to a "general" friend once, and he wouldn't stop saying that I like perverted stuff to my crush/es (the horror!). I also don't recommend cute/moe shows because they're usually more knowledgeable that I am. I really liked A-channel, Acchi Kocchi, and K-On! Although, if I were to really single one, it'd be Senki Zesshou Symphogear. Usually guys don't watch them, and they should never ever tell anyone about it. Else, people might judge. The ending is the only part that I can say is reasonably well done. Meh, its been years since I've seen School Days, so I can't remember exactly how stupid some of the choices characters made. However, I think most of the stupid choices can be defended by the fact that they were horny adolescents that were more concerned about having sex, than the consequences of it. Which if that's the case, the same could be argued of plenty of real horny teenagers who make stupid choices because they think with their penis/vagina instead of their brains. They just don't need to know about that side of me XD I have friends who aren't into anime at all who just think it's hilarious that I watch and play this stuff. Maybe being female helps because it's more unexpected. I guess it depends on who I'm talking to as to what I'll say I like. Parallel Trouble Adventure * Prince of Tennis ...And the following cute series: * Cardcaptor Sakura * Fushigi Yugi * Sailor Moon * CLAMP School Detectives * Akazukin Chacha ...And also a few bad sequels (El Hazard: The Alternative World, Orphen season two)... And a few harem/fanservice shows (Green Green, Rune Soldier Louie)... And a few video game adaptations (Star Ocean EX, Street Fighter II V)... When I was in school, people always teased me for watching "anime porn" even though it was just regular anime at that time (well, mostly.. XD). But older people I meet always associate it with childrens shows. Maybe it's something to do with age? At times in fandom, it has seemed like the only shows that get any promotion were either blatant kids' series with built-in merchandising, or blatant hardcore series. These shows share something in common in that they all employ a plot device I like to call pseudo-lesbianism. It’s a rather ingenious idea really. Lesbianism is something that turns guys on so much, yet by definition they can never experience it. So in order to help male viewers feel included in the yuri goodness these shows have main characters who are magically transformed into girls and then have lesbian relationships, or are forced to cross-dress and have girls fall for them while unaware of their true gender. I’m still embarrassed I watched these shows through though, mainly because their plots weren’t particularly good and the main reason I continued was for titillation and morbid curiosity. Free is the reason I've decided that there is no anime I can watch that will make me feel ashamed/embarrassed to talk about with anyone. Aside that, I'm not really ashamed by the anime I enjoy, but I suppose some of the weirder ones I have a strange don't-bring-out-in-social-meetings feeling about would probably KissxSis and Yosuga no Sora. (I do have a gay friend that's in love with Haru-chan) As far as things I'm ashamed of, I used to be ashamed I watched School Days as well, mainly because I watched it on a whim and had no idea what it was about (BIG EFFING SURPRISE). Many years later and I'd say that I'm no longer ashamed of it or anything else for that matter. Ok maybe a little shame for being a straight guy that liked reading Vampire Knight. Though I do like small breast over big ones I'm no lolicon :I it's not like I feel insulted or anything but I do feel kinda awkward having liked that anime as much as I did. And Infinite stratos (English dubbed) I usually NEVER like English dubbed. And actually this english dubbed IS was pretty horrible...BUT I STILL LIKED IT.
