What does TL and TLC mean?

Will you translate the fandisk?

TL stands for 'translation'. Generally speaking, you need someone to translate the Japanese into English, as otherwise this wouldn't be much of a translation project.

TLC stands for 'translation checking', because 'to err is human' and all that jazz, the translator is bound to make mistakes. Therefore, someone, preferably not the translator himself, has to check the translation to see if it's well translated. There are a few ways of doing TLC, but this needs to be done by someone who knows Japanese, 'cause otherwise it's a bit difficult to tell if the translation is 'correct'.

It's great to see that you guys will finish the translation. This might be nothing but I wish you guys luck and thanks again for your hard job.

Hey everyone out there!

The last couple of weeks have been an exciting time for our team and now we're finally able to announce what we've been working on recently :)
From today on, our group will operate under a new name:

Rabu Rabu Translations

Roughly translating to 'lovey dovey', we think it both reflects moege as our genre of choice and acts as a nod to our first project 'Lover Able'.

Along with the new name, we have reworked our entire web presence.
Our new website http://raburabu.net/ features more information on our group and active projects as well as downloads and a brand new live progress chart!

A proper logo and some other ideas I don't want to reveal yet are in the works, we'll keep you posted on those.

While we're at it, here are the current numbers:

Hey everyone o/

It's time for another update on our translation progress.
First of all, we fixed the few missing lines which were causing "99%" bars in the last update.
Chinatsu's route is at 35% translation now.

Speaking of which, please welcome @SoldierBlue9 to the team! \o/
He will be responsible for TLC on Chinatsu's route.

Hey everyone!

We’ve been a bit quiet for the last couple of weeks, but that doesn’t mean progress has slowed down.
Translation and TLC are progressing faster than they ever and it seems our editors have finally decided to do their job as well 😉

Three quarters of Chinatsu's route are translated, which pushes the total TL progress to 70% \o/

Hey again o/

I know I just published an update post yesterday, but today (2017-05-27) is a special occasion I would like to tell you about.

Exactly 9 months ago we started this project and so far it's been an amazing experience.
As some might know, this is the first fan translation I'm working on and during this time I've not only learned a lot about the vn community and industry but I've also met a lot of great people with serious passion for the genre.

We've certainly had our highs and lows during the last 9 months, but looking at the numbers I'd say we've covered about one third of our total way to the final product.
That being said I would like to thank you for your kind support and feedback up until now and I hope you're looking forward to this game as much as I do.

Hey everyone o/

Once again it's time for another quick update on the current state of our project.
As you can see, Chinatsu's route is now fully translated and Red has started working on Nanako's scripts.
TLC is consistent as always and editing progress is starting to speed up as well.

Hey everyone o/

we’ve been quiet for a while, time to get the latest numbers out 😉
Today, Nanako’s route crossed the 50% mark, leaving us with 7123 lines to be translated.
TLC on Tsugumi’s route is near completion, editing on the other hand is slow as usual.

As a programmer I’m not really involved in the translation process, so naturally I expected a lot of off-time once the initial “hacking” was finished.
That however has turned out to be a huge miscalculation, there is still a lot of work to be done.
I don’t even want to know how many hours I’ve spent staring at hex editors and disassemblers, examining every instruction of the yuka engine…
Without exaggerating, at this point I probably know more about the internals of yuka than the people at smee, who worked with it to create the game ^^

The latest project has been to add support for non shift-jis compliant fonts to the engine, because the two fonts shipped with the game (MS Gothic and MS Mincho) don’t exactly look great with English text.
After several hours it turned out I only had to patch 2 bytes of the executable from 0x80 (SHIFTJIS_CHARSET) to 0x01 (DEFAULT_CHARSET):

So here we have it, Vera Sans in Lover Able ^^
Some of you might recognize the font from other titles (e.g. DaCapo II)

And since there was no option to enable it, I simply added another button to the options menu (just a few additional lines of code and some graphics):

Take care, Atom

The "Onii-chan" gave me a bo.... I mean, good job for the translation (So sad the sis's route isn't translated yet).

Oh and I have a little problem. Is that normal that I can't go to the raburabu website ? I'm located in Texas now, it worked when I was in France.

Anyway, thank you you guys for contributing to "make visual novel popular in the west" ^_^

Are you visiting the right domain? Namely, the new address is: http://raburabu.net/

I can access it just fine, dunno why would it be blocked in Texas xD ...
