about fandisk - Fragmentation dream-

i asked MangaGamer facebook admin and they answer is

"We have no plans to localize Hapymaher -Fragmentation Dream- at this time. We typically don't localize sequels and/or fan-disks unless the original sells really well. If you really want to see Fragmentation Dream localized, help us spread the word about how great Hapymaher i "

Anyway what is your'e problem whit it.

I mean everybody has their own taste but if you don't like it it's up to you.

In my opinion i don't judge a book by it's cover.

Anyhow i don't mean to offend you.

I believe that it's more likely because Kiriririri himself was took a liking to one Hapymaher's character that was featured prominently in the FD, so much that he didn't want to see the FD was getting translated. Of course it's depend on Mangagamer though whether they want to localized Hapymaher FD or not, so stopping them to localized the FD won't be as easy as saying to do it here. What I can say here is that while usually I didn't pay attention to FD much, I would say that if Mangagamer announced the FD localization it should be good for other fans who want to see more Hapymaher.

I just hope they do more titles from Purple Software, the 2 we got so far were pretty good

Yeah, there's more good VN from Purple Software out there, both old (Mirai Nostalgia, Ashitakimi) and new (Amatsutsumi, Aoi Tori). Though whatever Purple Software VN that they chose to localized, it's up to Mangagamer though (Assuming that Purple Software didn't want to go back to Sekai and keep the contract with Mangagamer).

Welp, some two months after I started playing it, I finally finished Hapymaher. I liked the overarching plot quite a bit. This was a way better game than Chrono Clock in terms of both having an interesting premise and, more importantly, really getting a lot of mileage out of it. The Christmas arc was my favorite by far, and the true ending was predictable but still good. If every arc had had something as batshit crazy as the Christmas arc, but distinct, this game would have been an absolute legend for me. As it was, the common route was too long and the heroine routes were too short. I would've liked more distinct content. Though, that said, the game is still a far cry from something like, say, 11eyes, which has hardly any route differentiation. At any rate, even just that one Christmas chapter being so good was more than enough to make me consider it a great game. Art and music were both solid, too. Not my favorite or anything, but very good.

It's a real shame the translation read like absolute ass.

Talk about phoning it in. I can't decide if this was worse than Magical Marriage Lunatics or not, but it's at least the same level of low-effort mediocrity. Constant bad translationisms, frequent absolute nonsense, shitty English, the works.

Don't know why MG keeps doing shoddy work on relatively big-name titles like this one. Oh well, at least Evenicle and Sorcery Jokers got good TLs, among MG releases I played this year. I just wish they'd focus more on consistent quality for titles like this, especially since this one happened to be so firmly up my alley.

not wanting to disturb your delusions, but there´s nothing that indicates purplesoft has ditched sekai and now favors mangagamer. realistically speaking both released the title which has been licensed to them, in which way doesn´t really matter, and coming to purplesoft they´d probably give another one away to whoever comes across as well, new publisher or whatnot. times are long long over where a dev -publisher relationship felt like a marriage of sorts.

I admit that it was only my conjecture there (Or if you want to say it harshly a delusion), so perhaps I may be wrong here. That said, anything could happen though and obviously we wouldn't know which publisher that Purple Software was currently favored. It could be Sekai, Mangagamer, or even Nekonyan was the one that Purple Software favored for their future release. So yeah maybe the right word here would be that we still couldn't predict where Purple Software will be going, considering that they managed to got their two titles releases by two different publisher.

my point was that purplesoft favors none and would probably give licenses to whoever asks/pays first. from a companies point of view it´s also no weird if let´s say 5 titles were done by 5 different publishers, as long as they sell/earn them money, btw they couldn´t care less about fans then having to buy things from 5 different places

Hmmm, I guess I'm not the only one who didn't like it then. I mean, I could ignore all the weebisms, but I couldn't keep from laughing when they started referencing a certain meme in the middle of a scene that supposed to be emotional.

I was suprised I didn't see anyone mention this until now, considering how people go off on comparatively smaller issues with some of Sekai's TLs.

The TL for Hapymaher and Magical Marriage Lunatics aren't unreadable, but they read poorly enough that it had a negative impact on my enjoyment at least.
I also saw some TL errors in Hapymaher pretty much making someone say the opposite thing, "reappear" becomes "disappear", "unsuprising" becomes "suprising", "had me guide" becomes "I was guided".
Those are probably noticable even if you don't know japanese, since they contradict the surrounding conversation and/or context. So it's a bit suprising they made it through QC and such.

Overall I also quite liked Hapymaher though, and my opinions on it are pretty similar to yours.

that´s the common problem i´m having with like 95% of all titles available. people involved in works of literature, goes especially for editors here, should´ ve no right to exist if no being talented in writing themselves - same as a janitor won´t suddenly do a ceo´s work, ungifted schmocks should never be allowed playing author. main issue is not even an inaccurate outcome, but rather the utterly lifeless read one gets to experience as a result. whole thing basically reads like an easy to understand manual for self assembling a closet.

If you have read any of my earlier posts you should know what FD is about.

  Reveal hidden contents

FD is only about Yuuko. If you want more spoilers:

  Reveal hidden contents

They throw the true end of main game to trash and start with Yuuko coming to school and dreams while Alice still also exists in dream world. All the routes that happened in the main game were dreams and are now scattered as pieces and you visit the dreams one by one (excuse to put porn for other heroines) while trying to find balance between Alice and Yuuko.

Spoiler

Whaaaat, so the other heroines get shat on? It was bad enough that they forget everything in the epilogue.

Overall it was a really good read so I don't regret reading it. But yeah, that ending...

The japanese are fan of "It's not the destination that matters, it's the journey". Well, i kind of think both matters. An ending that throws everything you've read away and doesn't replace with something else which stimulates some form of joy is a no good read for me.

In the case of which company who'll localized another Purple Software, I guess it would be better if we just leave it to fate lol. That said if we talk about it from financial thing, then my guess would be Mangagamer again because out of all localization companies only Mangagamer who have reasonably good finance. I knew that JAST is better tham them in regard of financial because of J-List thing, but I would say that they'd been busy with their backlog and lack of staff, so JAST probably wouldn't think to localized Purple Software VNs even though it's quite ironic that they'd used to be one group.

PS - As for the translation, guess I'll just keep in mind of some opinion here, although I'll probably tried to just shrug it off anyway (At least it's not Flyable Heart or Your Diary lol, or even worse SG's Fortissimo).

Finished Hapymaher and it was a bit of a so-so experience. Not exactly unexpected though, considering Chrono Clock had its fair share of problems too.

But the first half of Hapymaher was actually pretty good. The dream world scenes had a sense of mystery and danger, while the real world scenes were more light and slice of life oriented. The iteration between both worlds was decently paced and kept things interesting without neglecting the lighter moe parts. And the heroines were not only very likable, but also contributing to the plot, with Maia being the highlight as the mischievous loli-villain of the dream world. Until that point the VN was scratching on an 8 rating in my book. Unfortunately, the second half couldn't keep up wih that quality.

The VN teases Alice in Wonderland in the first half, and just when you're about to tumble down the rabbit hole and experience a world of wonder and mysteries... you get stuck in the entrance and can't move forth or back anymore. This was just about the time when the endless dream starts with the party, christmas and gender-change events. Instead of giving you an interesting sub-plot in a fascinating meta world, the VN just throws the whole plot overboard and tortures you with slice-of-life and bogus events of almost unparalleled boredom. I had to heavily abuse the skip button to make it through that mess with a healthy mind. And the routes weren't much better. Yayoi's didn't fit at all to her personality, Maia's did barely exist and Alice had so many personality changes in her route that I hardly knew who she was at the end. Saki's was probably the 'less worst' since it at least followed the main plot around Maia, but the revelations were still very minor. And the so called true-route was just the continuation of Alice's apruptly ending half-route. Still enough to ridicule all other routes, including the actual main plot around Maia and let you end up with a girl you hardly know or care about. So yeah, the plot was certainly not developing the way I wanted. <_<

The VN has still some rather good points. The heroines are all very likable, especially Yayoi, Maia and Alice. Saki was the only one that didn't really click with me. She was a bit of a bitch and I didn't like her voice that much. In contrast to her Maia was just fantastic. Hapymaher was good when she was on the screen and unfortunately she didn't have much screen time in the second half. Her seiyuu also did a marvelous job in making her mischievous, dramatic and mysterious. And Yayoi was just gorgeous.

The art is certainly one of the strongest points of the VN - it's certainly one of the most pretty VN's I know. The music is also pretty decent, offering good tracks for both slice of life and dramatic scenes, even if the tracks get a bit repetitive after a while.

Heroine rating: Yayoi = Maia > Alice > Keiko >> Saki

Overall rating: 7/10 (The plot certainly wouldn't justify that rating, but it gets lots of bonus points for art, music and heroines)

Some personal observations:
I played Hapymaher at the same time like Fatal Twelve and it gave me some comparison material why HapyMaher's plot failed and the one of Fatal Twelve succeeded. Fatal Twelve has about 15 character sprites, 60 event CG's and lots of background locations just for the plot and it's a medium length VN. HapyMaher has just about 10 character sprites, and despite its 75 event CG's only 20 - 30 are relevant to the plot - the rest are H-scenes. There's also a severe lack of background locations with almost the whole dream world consisting of 'plantified' real world locations. Add to that a long length VN and it's getting clear why it's difficult to make a good story out of that. Although the H-scenes in Hapymaher are certainly gorgeous, they sacrificed too much for it.

Yeah, sadly. I really liked how this VN did the introductory chapters, but at the Christmas chapter the story gets completely random and loses any real momentum, and it never picks it up even in the character routes. I feel, if it continued the same story model it used in the first four chapters for the later ones, it could easily become a masterpiece, but, unfortunately, in the end it's just above average.

I actually agree with the most points in your review. I guess, my character rating would be a bit different. I liked Keiko, mostly because I found her character the most relatable to me personally. I liked Yayoi before I reached her route, but you can probably guess why exactly I stopped liking her after that. :makina: Overall, I gave this VN 7/10 as the final rating, but it's definitely not the strongest VN with this rating in my list.

Also,

Spoiler

talking about the sex change scene, I was half-convinced that it could be an indicator that it was actually Maia who survived in the forest, and Tohru we saw in the story was just a character in her dream, just like Alice was to Yuuko. While the other parts of the mystery, like the fact that this all was a long repeating dream dreamed by Alice were pretty obvious to me, I felt like there were a lot of small hints that supported this idea too. In the end though, even though this possibility was mentioned by Maia at some point, in the end, it was never confirmed. And, I guess, a twist like that would be thematically inconsistent with the tone of the true route, considering that it mostly follows a nakige format and it supposed to end at a happy note.

Yes, there was certainly a lot of potential, but unfortunately they just dropped the ball in the middle.

I found Keiko's attempt to seduce Tooru at the beginning a bit too cheap, at least considering her kuudere personality. I still liked her though, only Saki never clicked with me. But I usually prefer older heroines anyway, except they are very special like Maia. I also didn't really judge the heroines by their routes anymore since I found them all rather lacking - none of the heroines left a good impression in them.

I might have missed it, but I think Maia's death was never confirmed. In Saki's route it was just said that she didn't come back, but her body was never found. I hoped the plot would give some revelations about what happened, but the VN ended and there was nothing revealed. I guess there's more about it in the fan disc though.

agree
i'm also reading ChronoClock and finished 2 routes , for me ChronoClock is good one but HaperMaher is better .

my ChronoClock rating is 7 , Hapyermaher is 9 but as i said i finish only 2 route if i finish all route my Chronoclock rating should be changed.

about my HapyMaher Heroine rating

Yayoi remind me for someone (it's personal experiance so don't need any reason lol) so i choose her at the top of my list , but it's hard to decide others because iike them all in difference ways

if the question is changed from  rating to "Who you want to match with Touru ?" my clearly answer is Saki  .
