Hey everybody! I've narrowed the VN page design to four basic designs which I'm (mostly) happy with. Much thanks to all of the feedback in the previous poll, Lilly's design eye, Decay's design eye, thoughts on batman's discord channel, and discord private chats.

So! Which of the following four designs do you like best for our visual novel pages?

Option 8: http://fuwanovel.net/novels/option-8/

Option 9: http://fuwanovel.net/novels/option-9/

Option 10: http://fuwanovel.net/novels/option-10/

Option 11: http://fuwanovel.net/novels/option-11/

NOTE: The content/links and some of the images are just placeholders on the option pages. Just focus on the design for this poll.

It feels kinda like option 9 fits more if you don't really know much about a specific VN or VNs at all. That's because it gives info of the VN before it throws walkthrough  and 100% saves at you. Making the reader want to actually play it them self. But for someone that knows what it/they are it kinda feels like giving them info on walkthroughs and save files quicker will make things easier for them. But seeing as Fuwanovels goal is to get new people into VNs, giving them info what a VN is about feels more important than 100% save files. IMO of course.

I vote for banning Tay for spamming the recent topics box.

So many good memories of back in the day when we only showed the latest 5 posts. It was a lot easier, after site work or a FuwApocalypse, to literally sweep the board. Huehuehue

These basically echo my thoughts.

Will that many people look for walkthroughs and 100%'s on VNs they do not plan to read, though?

I mean, if it was a nukige then we probably know why they want a 100% instead of "experiencing" the whole VN themselves, but I don't think that's the main kind of VNs Fuwa wants to spreak around. So usually it'll be people missing some scenes that don't know how to get them. Ergo, people who do want to experience the VN.

No, but you should consider the experience of people who are browsing fuwanovel with the intention of learning about VNs and where to get them. To be honest, I think that bar looks kind of ridiculous up there at the top, alone. That's why I proposed putting the walkthrough/savefile/tech help thingy alongside the patch/game download and info, and I prefer it under the description because I feel like for a whole lot of people, the description and general game info is going to be the most important part. It's still just a quick scroll down to find this info. Putting it right up top is just aesthetically displeasing to me and also sort of confuses the objective of the site.

My thoughts exactly

I think that option 9 would be the better choice, I would've also mentioned 11 but I agree with Decay when he mentioned that the bar alone does look kind of out of place and putting it after the synopsis of the vn would make it so people don't miss it due to scrolling fast.

Option 9 because it looks better. Compare option 9 and 11 and it looks disgusting to watch the 100% save banner instead of seeing the summary and developer information. But that's my two cents on it.

Picture of comparison between option 9 and 11 with resolution 1980x1080. It is just a smaller version of the full view but you get the thing. Option 9 looks more professional.

I think Option 9 the best. Amuzie and Decay brought up good points about the information being the most important for a lot of people coming here to learn more about VNs, so the information should come first. The layout for Option 9 has everything together like the walkthroughs/tech help/where to buy it/patches/etc. too, and I think it looks best keeping all of that information in one place instead of some of it at the top and some of it at the bottom.

option 8, because the first thing you want to see when you open the page is the save game part, patches the guide etc so it should be at the top and you should add the link to vndb in that part too

something like this not possible?

just by my 2 cents, its better to have things visual at start.  dont have to scroll to see general describtion unless they want to read more. dont have to scroll to notice the "external resources"

or is the boxes one for the entire wp theme. not for individual pages.

The problem with that design imo is that it feels a bit disconnected from the VN it's related to. Kinda like it isn't about the VN in question.
