I'm a bit tired for the long winded discussion but I feel like Uchi doesn't really know what "blind and deaf" man means. Just try to picture one of the opening scenes with the Team Q voting: three mighty minds are standing around a "blind and deaf man in a wheelchair" waiting for him to randomly wave his hand and vote for someone. And then judge him if his random wave has chosen the Ds. That should have been quite a spectacle.

I wonder how they communicated at all, since it is required a specific way to talk to people like this. Maaaaaybe with 2029's technology it was actually easier than we think.

Zero states that his plan of releasing Radical-6 was to prevent a religious group to explode the planet, killing all 8 billion people. Since his plan didn't work, that is what is going to happen. That is why the whole group promises to save the world just before the final scene with the gun. [/spoiler]

That, to me, is the main reason for us to have a new game.

Actually last words were these:

One of the goals of all of this was to get you into that frame of mind.
It's all going according to plan...
Without a single casualty I created a future where mankind will be saved.

So the decision - kill him and thus loose him (while he can easily can help them to track fanatic) or not. So actually all is ended already. As I really see no meaning to make a game, where we will watch how they will track the fanatic guy and kill him.

Btw, everyone saw these? I doubt I saw that... It seems there is after-story info in the game I missed? I'm just digging in the game resources.

Junpei - Akane:

Junpei sits upon a white sofa somewhere within
the secret location of Crash Keys, twiddling a
pen and sighing.

"Hmm... What else should I say..."

Laying on the table in front of him is a
half-written letter. Suddenly, Akane pops up
behind him.

"What are you doing, Junpei?" She playfully
teases.

"Gah!"

Junpei dives for the letter, but she snatches
it from his fingers and begins reading.

"Let's see... [Carlos, without you, Akane and I
would've never gotten together. Thank you.]
...Is this an invitation to the wedding?!"

"No! It's most definitely not!"

He makes a grab for the paper, but Akane
quickly moves it out of his reach.

"It's just a progress report," Junpei mutters.
"Okay, yeah, I mentioned the wedding, but the
date hasn't been set yet. I made a promise...to
you and your brother... We wouldn't get married
until we've dealt with the fanatic."

Akane's face flushes bright red. She hastily
hides her face behind the letter and goes back
to reading. "[I'd like nothing more than to get
the approval and blessing of our old friends,
and those of you we met six months ago.]"

Eyes wide, Akane glances up at Junpei. He
avoids her gaze, awkwardly scratching the back
of his head.

Q - Mira - Eric:

Suddenly, Sean's fist crashes through the
plexiglass window.

"Aah!"

Mira jumps backward while Eric is frozen in
shock.

"Wh-What are you?!"

Eric can't even finish speaking before Sean
moves. Jumping through the broken window, he
kicks the outside wall of the Visitor Room,
causing it to crumble and reveal a giant hole.
An alarm immediately starts blaring and police
officers rush into the room, but Sean darts
forward and takes them all down in a blink of
an eye.

He holds his hand out to Mira. "Let's go!"

"Go...where...?"

"I know where the transporter is being stored."

"You're saying...we should go change history?"
Eric finally stutters.

Sean nods. "To stop young Mira from
committing murder. Mira, I'm pretty sure that's
the only way you can clear your sins."

Mira stares out through the hole in the wall at
the horizon extending beyond.

You get post-game notes/files to read after finishing ZTD

The epilogue regarding Team Q is actually very interesting in a way because

It goes back to that "life is unfair" / "snail" thing where Mira kills Eric's Mom -> Akane's dad falsely accused -> taxi/surgeon/Sean die -> Akane kidnapping 1st Nonary Game happens -> 999 -> blah blah blah

So if they prevent Mira from killing Eric's mom, they'll theoretically be able to create a timeline where none of the Zero Escape games happen ^_^

I still don't know how many days, hours, weeks, they spent inside the shelter

You can download the Steam exclusive pdf art/manual booklet here http://www.mediafire.com/download/z984waf83h1bukk/PremiumBooklet_E.pdf which will summarize the 5 days they spent at the shelter prior to the actual game.

As for the actual game,

They typically spend less than one day there in most playable timelines; after the first vote most teams only wake up twice max before you'd reach an ending. there's a file that shows the times:

Some final Zero Escape overall comments:

Super spoilers!!
Zero Time Dilemma:

It could be an anagram for "Me? I'm Delta. I'm Zero."

Also, I'm less annoyed at the whole "Q/Delta was there the entire time" thing, because apparently whenever Team Q gets knocked out, there are 4 thumps instead of the usual 3 >.>
And every now and then you can see Q's shadow during dialogue scenes.

I'm just bad at noticing these things :<
~~

My favorite BGM from ZDT is Nostalgic Scenery, this shit captures the feels nicely, and it gains like 9000 bonus points because I just realized it's a glorified sad remix of 999's Extreme Extrication:

You can hear the same base tune starting around 0:20 in both vids. Took me 5 years to notice,

~~
Favorite game of the three... Hard to say. I enjoyed playing all of them, they each had their ups and downs; none of them really "definitively" beat the others for me.

Favorite Zero: 999 > VLR > ZDT. I have complex reasons.

Favorite protagonist: Sigma > Junpei > Carlos. Even more complex reasons.

Best girl: Akane >= Clover >= Phi >= Luna >= Diana >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Alice > Lotus >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mira. For reasons you'll never understand.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm late, but that's because I decided not to buy upon release. Something was bugging me off... was it a message from another me on another timeline?

About the review of VLR some people asked, here it is:

The channel is also covering ZTD now. As someone who played the two previous games, his opinion will be interesting.

About the game... to put it short, this is no longer "the best game on its console", as for some people, 999 was.

You can find out more about my opinion here, no major spoilers:

http://sanfter-flugel.tumblr.com/post/147546539197/zero-time-dilemma-im-bashing-it

As for the fourth part, I'm sure there will be one. My reasoning:

The game ends with Carlos pointing his gun towards Delta. It ends there, no sound of firing, nothing. Maybe your first decision on the new game will be to fire or not.

If the series ends there, that's certainly a very poor outcome. You can choose the lesser evil (Sigma's 2074 timeline, where there's Radical-6 but otherwise mankind isn't wiped out) or total extinction by a nuclear war. Feels the same as in Steins;Gate, where it seemed you couldn't possibly avoid a bad ending, but in S;G, there's indeed a good ending. And moreover, achieved by an adolescent, suck it up Sigma and Akane and your shitty schemes!

Anyway, by the game's inner logic and the Many Worlds Theory, it's possible there is a world with neither a nuclear war nor Radical 6, but that isn't enough to warrant a new game (the Nonary/Decision game is a game of distress. So you need some strife for it to have some sense).

The game reminds me of the second Matrix movie and that isn't good. Delta feels a lot like The Architect. And that is a trope I hate.

@Okarin are you sure you read post-game textes? There is a bunch of text in the log, which describes the situations after the end of the game. They basically cooperated to find that bomber.

Anyway, I expected more from the game, not another bunch of same twists I saw in all previous instances.

That's all the more stupid. That's important information that changes the outcome, so the right thing would be to put it into the cutscene. I'm alright with putting a nice background and text overhead, much like Q's ending.

PS: Poor @Funyarinpa user will be having a very bad year, what with the failed coup in Turkey and this game being disappointing. Bad times.
