Share some of the best meals and dishes from your hometown in this thread, simple as that. Including yourself equates to bonus points. Make me hungry Fuwanovel!

To start, there's nothing quite like getting up at 7:00am and heading to a true American breakfast joint run by a family business:

Bacon, eggs, and toast slathered in butter? The true American way.

Called "iskender" or "iskender kebab". When I ate a double portion at Bursa at the family restaurant of the guy who invented the dish last summer, I shit you not I almost cried. The pinnacle of meat.

(Thin layers of amazingly delicious "doner" (Turkish: "döner") and under them is some sort of bread-like thing called "pide" and there's butter and some sauce on it)

manti-tarifi1.jpg

Called "Mantı", my favorite dish that can be made at home. Small pieces of minced meat are packed in small squares of dough; butter, spices (pepper, mint), yogurt and garlic on top. Mmmmmm

There's nothing more local than this.

How about bakso here (Called meatball in English), which Obama said it was one of his favorite childhood food when he came to Indonesia.

And for one more food, here's mie ayam (For description, we had noodle with some chicken and vegetable on top of the noodle, and we usually eat it with clear broth).

I think if I found some good image, I'll post more here. Oh, and by the way for more trivia both of those food were street foods here.
