Ideas for a Tokyo Babel contest or giveaway

I have a gift copy of Tokyo Babel sitting on my Steam account, waiting to be given away.  However, I want to give it to a community member as part of a contest or a lottery-type thing (no purchase necessary, lol).  Unfortunately, I suck at that kind of thing and I don't have the energy or time to act as a referee, so I need both ideas and volunteers to umpire this thing into existence.

Ideally, I would have liked to have obtained four or five other VNs on Steam (preferably on sale so I don't have to empty my Steam Wallet), but there aren't any really good VNs on sale at the moment, lol.

Anyway, if any of you can come up with an idea or ideas for a contest that can be easily and fairly carried out as a Fuwa community event, I would love to hear them.

PS: As runner-up prizes, I have the Sega Classics pack 5 (Phantasy Star jrpg series from the Sega Genesis, as well as a few other games) and Nekopara Part 0.

You could maybe ask people what their favorite character from Tokyo Babel is, or what they are looking forward to in the game, or something along those lines, then choose the winner based off the answer you liked the most. Or, simply with RNG, like was mentioned above.

I find contests to be more exciting when there is a chance of winning past just RNG though. So some format more similar to my first suggestion would be more fun in my opinion.

Also, there shouldn't be any hard requirements to enter, but you also need to make sure people can't cheat in any way. Might just have made it harder for you, sorry if that's the case :P

Oh, please no overly difficult puzzles. *Glares at Eclipsed*

As Dergonu said. Let the contestant do some work at least for it. Writing a small text of 200 words or whatever about a subject or why they want it. But if you don't have time you could do it easier and with some rng simulator.

I got some VNs laying around. I could perhaps give away something. But I don't know what game it is. I have to look it up. But it could be something big such as Clannad. I got two copies. I also got one or two OEVLNs laying around. Bundles of games are a curse sometimes when you get doubles. :)

randomizing sounds best to me.

Actually probably the worst imo. People will put effort into something they want and will actually use (read/play). If you use a randomizer anyone can easily join regardless of if they'll even use the prize.

True, but we're talking a fairly specialized thing here - it's not a Jeep Cherokee being offered. I don't think we'll have too many random people from the internet going "Whoa! Free Clean Version of a Japanese Porn Game Contest!"

Ahhh, I didn't quite mean that ^_^. I meant you might get people off the forums who probably won't end up reading these VN's, "but since it's free stuff how can I resist entering". If the contest takes some effort it would filter out most of these.

Maybe a Clephas fanfic (based on my roleplay, which I'm sure at least some of you are familiar with), the results judged based upon prose quality, originality, and humor, maybe.  This would be the entry level... with multiple judges just saying whether it is acceptable or not (My preferences are for Kaguya, Rooke, and one other random member besides me).  Those that get branded as 'acceptable' will then be picked out by a random number generator in three stages for the three prizes.  First prize is Tokyo Babel, second being a choice of the remaining two (or more if other people want to add to this silly contest), etc.

That's quite the interesting idea, I suck at writting fanfics though.

However that won't stop me from trying  :sacchan:
