I think eden* is not actually censored in the way you describe it on that google doc, they did censor it ( when maya is taking a bath for example they added clothes on her on the steam version lol) but the eroge scenes were never part of the game(it was all version even in japan), those scenes they were added later on via patch and they are not part of the game itself (they are actually pretty bad)

You'll notice I labeled it appropriately.

"The H-scenes are just tacked on as omake " again the all version or non-adult version it is censored but not the h-scenes because there are none on either version, how can you censor something that it is not there to begin with? they did censor some minor scenes  like partial nudity (you can't even see a tit on the original jap version so I don't see the point and "violent" scenes too.

Would it make you happy if I changed the column label from "Description of censorship" to something more vague like "Comments"?  I went with the more specific label because it describes the contents of most of the cells in the column, i.e., providing details about the censorship.

is not about what makes me happy, you did a list and the information you are proving is incorrect I just want to correct that up, nothing more.

Maybe I'm not explaining myself.

*Original Jap version: All ages ---------------> eroge PATCH came later on to add new content.

*Steam version: Censored version of the All ages original Jap release. You can also buy the original all ages version uncensored with the eroge patch that added the new content.

EDIT: actually even on the mangagamer page they are not saying correctly  so screw it <_< if I remember correctly the violent scenes and "nudity" were on the jap ver too, maybe I'm being asinine (which wasn't my intention) and what I'm saying is incorrect so ignore my comments.

If a game has an official ero version, no matter when in the game's timeline it was released, it will be added to my list.  Whether you consider that censorship or not (and yes, there's an argument to be made if the shop page or platform for the non-adult version doesn't mention or include the adult version), it fulfills primary goal 3 that I laid out in my blog post.

Documenting eroge with both adult and non-adult versions to help Steam users and casual VN players discover eroge

Games where that applies will have the non-adult version tagged "uncensored".

I've added a new section to address complaints.

Why are games that weren't censored included in the list?

Contrary to popular belief, there is no single agreed upon definition of censorship.  The broad definition I'm using includes types of information control that many would not consider objectionable or "censorship".  For example, I consider Steam a censored platform because it does not allow titles with ero content regardless of market demand.  This creates an information gap where users who might be interested in adult titles are unable to buy them, even on other platforms, simply because they don't know about them.  I'm interested in closing this gap.

Eroge with a non-adult release in English fall under Primary Goal 3, and thus will be included in the list.  Titles will be included even if the Japanese adult release came after the Japanese non-adult release.  If the English non-adult release mirrors the Japanese one, it will be marked "uncensored".

In summary, I'm documenting multiple types of censorship, and many users won't be interested in all of them.  Don't grab your pitchforks simply because a game made the list.  Please use the sort function to identify the types of censorship that interest you.

Speaking of eden* you seems missing what Deep Blue tells - in normal version there are some scenes, where girl outfit was censored (like Maya got a swimsuit, while in 18+ version she is naked). So probably this should be added as censorship I guess?

This is what I am speaking about: http://imgur.com/a/erjQO

This is in main game, not omake. I believe there is more, that's just the one I remember.

I updated the description to reflect this.  Thank you.  I also updated the column header to please people like @Deep Blue.

Eden: The adult version adds blood and partial nudity to some scenes in the main scenario. The H-scenes are just tacked on as omake.

Phantom of Inferno should be on the list. Only available english version is the interactive DVD version, rated at 15+. As far as I know, there's no "remedy."

edit: Several other Hirameki International releases also count. Yu-u-e-n-chi/Amusement ParkKoiYoubi/Day of LoveNatsuiro no Sunadokei/Hourglass of SummerMajo no Ocha Kai/Tea Society of a WitchIshika & Honori, and Exodus Guilty.

For all of these, the english releases were done via interactive DVDs and had the adult content removed. Natsuiro no Sunadokei and Exodus Guilty had all-ages console versions as their initial releases, then the adult versions were released, and then Hirameki International did their usual stuff.

If your goal is to document censorship, then I don't think it's rational to include eden* in the discussion. The "censored" release is identical to the original, and as far as I know only, Japanese release. It's more rational to refer to the other one (with its modified CGs and additional post-game content) as a pornified release - or whatever less derogatory term you prefer.

By your classification, it's probably more accurate to just say that eden* wasn't an eroge, and then was made into one, rather than that an eroge was made and then censored.
