Request for translation??

Recommended Posts

I want a port of steins;gate 0 to pc and a translation also if possible :P

Now seriously, you can try to gather a team, aka look for a translator and editor and start the translation yourself, it is better than just asking randomly here and hope it falls from the sky miraculously.

So uh, I don't know anything about translating or anything, but is anyone willing to start working on a translation for  Dekinai Watashi ga, Kurikaesu. ??? =o I would literally have your babies

Pester Sekai Project, they're the ones translating and releasing Akabei Soft games. Assuming AS wants to do more after G-Senjou no Maou.

MUH CENSORSHIP

Btw SnK is getting mostly retranslated so yes it's a translation.

Wait, they WANTED censored versions of their games released?

Believe it or not, you need AS2's authorization to release their game officially. And they get money for it. So buying G-senjou on Steam is more likely to channel money to AS2 than pirating an old fan translation.

Well yeah of course :sachi: I get that. But what I mean is, would they not want for the game to be released uncensored in hopes that it would sell better?

I personally have the voiced edition on steam, but would have loved an uncensored official release in English.

No, they wouldn't, because that would be a pretty insane expectation. Censored versions available on Steam always outsell the uncensored versions available on MangaGamer, J-List, Denpasoft, etc. Of course they'd want to prioritize the version that sells better, the censored one.

Wow. The English eroge market is weird :vinty:

Well, guess if everyone is happy with that then there is no problem. I can read both versions now so no harm done for me :sachi:

That said I read quicker in English so ... I at least do what I can to buy the hell out of all uncensored games that they release :pyaa:

Edited by Dergonu
That did NOT say censored for about 5 minutes ... No one saw that.

maybe the grisaia uncut version wasnt a success because it was the exact same version that was available before and it came 3 months later... maybe with the new content and the same release date things would have been different but now there is no way to know...  seems to me like the uncut version got the worst part.

btw where is the info about the re translation about SnK?

It's all about exposure. Over a hundred million people use Steam. Thousands of (very dedicated) people shop at MangaGamer. MangaGamer's games used to sell a few thousand copies if they were particularly good sellers, and less than a thousand if they were bad sellers. Nowadays, a few thousand is almost the baseline for Steam numbers. Although VNs are still a really tiny niche, being on Steam gives them much greater potential for sales than being off of it. That's why everyone is flocking to it, now that they figured that out.

Well, this is pretty besides the point, that SP has a partnership with Akabei Soft, the company that released the game the OP wants translated, and Moogy, a translator who is involved with this process, stated that SP wanted to work on something else but AS is making them release the currently fan translated stuff officially, first. And Moogy also said he was unhappy with the SnK translation and wanted to redo large parts of it. So... yeah, I guess we'll be waiting a while.

And all of this is besides the OP's point, that he wants someone to translate Time Leap. Sorry, but nobody really takes translation requests for VNs. VNs have massive amounts of text and takes months of the translators' lives to translate.

well is not that I don't trust moogy but until i see an official statement i cant trust anything he says, regardless of that and because I don't like to be an hypocrite I should thank him for the patch of suba that he leaked, it made my life easier while reading that crazy novel, now that I've reached the untranslated part is just a pain to read but i kinda derailed from the point.

I really hope SnK gets an official release and although i would hate to see a censored version.. in this particular novel the censorship wont affect the plot so it's fine. (just don't crop the images again akabei :sachi:)

Moogy has nothing to do with the leaked subahibi patch, which he doesn't endorse anyway since it's a non-edited version that still required heavy edit passes. He's only the link between TLwiki and KeroQ for the official release. The one who leaked the patch was vvav, the translator.

It's fine if you don't believe him but you can't really assume SnK won't be heavily retranslated either, since there's obviously a reason why it's taking much longer than G-senjou to release.

so vvav was the one that translated the novel and not moogy? i thought that vvav translated the first part and then moogy started translating it the rest.

I'm not saying that SnK wont be released or is not being re-translated how would I know that? just saying that until someone officially announce i don't care what moogy says.

Yeah this is totally outside the threads point but thanks for the detailed explanation. :sachi:

It kind of pains me to see but it makes total sense. I really hope that something will let companies like Mangagamer really flourish in the future so that more and more official English uncensored eroge releases will come.

Or maybe if steam starts allowing adult content directly. Though I doubt that will ever happen. It would solve a lot of our problems if they did though. Guess there is always "illegal" patches for steam, like Nekopara and Sunrider from Denpasoft.

It would only fix problems for people like yourself and create problem for other people like myself who actually value and are thankful to steam for fixed versions of VNs.

I myself hope that VNs on steam get even higher sales so that VNs market in west gets bigger and that 18+ versions are completely drooped with translating.

Kind of an odd statement, but I'm not going to disagree that more VNs releasing in the west through any means is a bad thing. More steam VNs will be good for everyone. We who want it can patch it and those who doesn't can leave it all ages. :sachi:

Everyone has their own opinions, and wether you like H-content or not is completely subjecctive. :)

That being said though, I can't say I agree with the term "fixed VN" for an eroge with cut H-content. A VN is a visual novel and that has no need for H-content. That is fine.

However an eroge is an erotic game, meaning there has to be erotic content in it, and these titles keep getting translated. If that part of the game is removed, it is taking out something that might be trivial to the plot yes, but that still makes the essence of the game's genre itself. I have seen you comment on this before and it seems you are quite set in your ways, which is absolutely fine, but I just want to say this: an eroge with cut H-conent is a censored game and it's quite frustrating for a lot of fans. Again, eroge being the keyword, not VN in a general sense. Therefore, the point that I was making earlier was that when an eroge is brought to steam and censored it can cause a little frustration, because we don't actually get the entire game in it's full glory. Sure, H-scenes don't do much for the plot, but that is beyond the point. The core problem is that content is removed from the game, and that annoys people like me.

Just going to say that this thread was pointless to begin with and is soon going to develop into a heated discussion about sex scenes and if they need to be in VNs or not. Let's be honest, nobody is going to be able to have a civil discussion about that seeing how 4 threads have already been locked in the past. I suggest taking this discussion to Skype or another place outside the forums.

Eroge with an cut H-conent is not an eroge at all. Therefore an all ages VNs witch used to have eroge version is not censored eroge but a different version of a VN that is not eroge. So calling them fixed versions is more correct then calling them censored ones. Indeed like you said cutting H-scnes can be considered changing genre but that is not called censorship but creating a different version. The most correct way of referring to those versions would be to simply say eroge or 18+ version and all-ages version, but since you people insist on calling all ages version censored games and by that deny that all ages version are separate versions of a game there is no reason for me to not call them fixed versions and by witch to point out that those versions are not inferior to 18+ at all but superior. I understand that you can be frustrated by fixed versions but we who prefer fixed versions have it far worse as pretty much all VNs released on steam as a fixed versions also have 18+ available  on the other hand there are tons of those that don't have fixed versions and only have 18+ ones. There is also a meter of myself as a true otaku finding H-content highly offensive and disrespectful toward true otaku in a first place but let's not go there.

WHF!? So you don't think that if let's say someone decided to saddenly put porn of Jesus and Saints inside Bibles that those who are part of that religion would be offended?
