Now that I think about it, it could have also been when he finally cracked, since he wouldn't have been able to retain his sanity forever, what with him being completely alone for all eternity. That or you could call it his way of self-defence to somehow manage through that loneliness. It's like how when people are alone they tend to make up imaginary presences to alleviate boredom. Nerathim Posted June 5, 2015 Share Posted June 5, 2015 Finished Rose Guns Days, the ending was a bit lackluster and I think Ryukishi had some of his priorities backwards but everything else is outstanding. We definitely need more VN with unique atmosphere and casting like that, it's more than just very entertaining, it's also super interesting and I learned a lot of things about post-war Japan and others details. About the OST, well, it's 07th Expansion, it's really great and might be as good as Umineko if the latter didn't have so much tracks. Read it, RGD doesn't get enough visibility! Quite good, would strongly recommend, especially if you're into chuuni (I'm not particularly, but I still enjoyed it). Just started Yume Miru Kusuri (maybe 30 minutes in). So far, not bad; music is a bit weak and art doesn't scale well for large screens, but for a game from 2005 I can't really expect much in the latter department. The little bit of characters I've seen so far (and essentially no story) are interesting enough. Also: wtf is up with me running into Princess Evangile voice actors. Kyouka = Ayaka I'm starting to think it's just a small world for eroge voice actors. I immediately recognized one of the YMK heroines as Kagome's voice from Comyu (it helps that I only finished Comyu earlier today...); what I didn't realize was that she also voiced Kurugaya from Little Busters! (it's been a while for that one...). As it turns out, the voice actors for all three YMK heroines were either in Comyu, Little Busters!, or both! Also, this VN has quite a few less-than-subtle nods to FSN... which I don't mind in the least. Currently struggling trying to get the other routes. I meant to play through it after finishing the first game but I got too caught up in the School Mode of DR and it pissed me off so I put DR2 on hold. It's obviously no Sharin or G-Senjou, but it's not too bad so far. I've already gotten to some of the twists regarding the imouto and osananajimi, and... daaamn. I manage to only reach some sort of Miyuki ending. That was probably the most agonizing thing I've ever read, the normal lovey-dovey moments were so boring. (And I hate Miyuki's character) All this was made even more painful by my dreadfully slow reading speed. Well, it was valuable training I guess... sub-zer0 Posted June 9, 2015 Share Posted June 9, 2015 Finally done with Baldr sky dive1 - lost memory, after 90+ hours of hard work, Not 100% done with the game, still got survival mode to clear, but I'v done all the routes and got all possible endings,.Time to move on to Baldr sky dive2 - recordare...Great Vn though, but replaying the same battles for different ends are a honest pain in the ass, this is like half way between a VN and a game-play VN...It has mostly Text, but it has enough gameplay and repetition to make it feel like a gameplay VN, but with less grind. The first route I picked was Kotonoha's and I made sure to pick every option that would boost my relations with her. It was pretty nerve racking in all honesty after hearing all these things about School Days. Going into Sekai's route it's like I'm replaying Swan Song constantly waiting for shit to go down. Maybe I know to much about School Days from other people but my brain is going full throttle about what is going to happen. Getsuya Posted June 10, 2015 Share Posted June 10, 2015 Flowers just keeps getting better and better. I wasn't too sure if I'd end up liking it for a while. The beginning is really pretty, but soon afterwards it kind of gets bogged down by how shy and hesitant the main character is. But it definitely picks up speed and toward the middle of the first route it just absolutely has a deathgrip on my heart and I can't stop reading. I think this series is going to become one of the main staples in yuri VNs, and I think there's a good possiblity of it being translated at some point since MangaGamers has already released another Innocent Grey title. I'll have a full review up on my Vita review blog once I'm finished (shouldn't take too much longer; I think the 2nd route re-uses a ton of the text and there's only the 2 routes) but if you can read Japanese and like yuri there is absolutely no reason to bump this series up to the top of your to-read list. I suggest doing Asuho first (to get it out of the way because it's the worst one imo) or last since her route has the least relation to the others (not including her). The one with the required route should be done right after doing the prerequisite. Well that should be the best since the reason why they required some routes is because there are really some required info if you're gonna go for the next route and it would be the best if you can still remember those important things. And as for what I'm currently playing is Katawa Shoujo. I'll finally get to realize the glory of the VN that drew people into the porn game VN world. So far so good but first time reading something without Japanese dub. It feels refreshing and yet I've spent more time understanding things while reading, weird. VNs without voices to me are a crime against humanity though. Replaying Sera's route in Primal Hearts in prep for her after story that comes with the sequel. That's actually fine. Most people seem to recommend doing Asuho first, but I don't think it matters at all. Isuzu's route tackles a plotpoint of Asuho's, but it's not spoiling it in any way.
