ChiruChiru best VN girl ever. Have fun with her route....

Now I can fully comprehend what you meant. Holy f the girl is so sweet I think I might've got diabetes. And Yuuji is a coldhearted asshole for whatever reason. Fuck. I wish he were the same as in say Sachi's or Makina's route. It'd be a lot more enjoyable in my opinion. It's just too damn frustating how he treats the poor thing.

Her after route in Labyrinth will make you feel much better. He is far kinder. And while he does bully Michiru, it kind of feels like its just the only way to show affection to her (Sacchi does it too and Makina....).

I guess he is mean, but michiru is kinda ridiculous at times. Still find her unbelievably adorable.

And on the plu side I just finished Cartagra, and boy did that fuck me over. I've never finished a VN that big in one sitting before. But every bad end made me curious, and I just couldn't put it down.

And now I'm off to play something happy.

Wild Romance MofuMofu has caught my attention.

Playing Little Busters English. My first time playing it was 6 years ago using the English patch. 60 hours in and I have 50% CG unlocked. Basically, I'm having a blast with it.

I think afterwards I'll texthook and read KW followed by Harvest Festa so I can finish the Key works. Localizations are taking too long and I'm running out of free time to read VNs.

Have fun with LB. I think I might also buy the steam version and give a replay to that fantastic VN :isla: Like you, I only played the fan translation back then.

No no, keep going with Kara no Shoujo, one of its bad ends made me alt-f4 on the spot in utter devastation :P

total defeat... it wasn't even close... WE DIDN'T EVEN SCORE ONE POINT... also am I the only one who thinks that the baseball game sucks? the minigame is kinda awesome cuz you can do allot of cool things like hitting komari and hitting the cats and hitting komari and ruining the tea party and hitting komari and also did I mention you can hit komari <can you tell I don't really like her and I hate that I have to do her route first>, on the other hand the game is just a bunch of choices and I don't even know what tf they mean, like what's a bunt and wtf is a steal or a double steal, is he supposed to steal the baseball bat???

on another note

when I finished the baseball game and got the rankings for battle and he said something about stronger enemies and when I remembered that there are like 20 hidden achievements something hit me like a brick... I don't think I actually entered a route and I have quite a few hours sunk into this... I think there is gonna be like a rewrite moment when the games is gonna take a almost complete 180 turn and shit is gonna go fucking insane and it's gonna blow ma dick off and now my expectations for this game are out of this world, but please don't tell me the ghosts in the principals office in the game of courage kyouske organized is gonna be like a thing, I'm gonna flip out if this a supernatural vn and that was relevant to the plot

In order to enjoy the baseball match you'd need a cursory understanding of baseball. I do have such an understanding, though not of the exact terms. Therefore, I was able to follow the game a bit. Halfway through it quickly became clear that I'd lost, however. The RNG gods cursed Kyousuke for that match, and Riki messed up everything he ever tried. Somehow, Komari and Kurugaya were my best players. (Komari -- Queen of bunting it and legging it).

There's a guide for baseball at TL Wiki, and it's quite confusing because I didn't understand any baseball terms lol. What I knew is that it's pretty much given if you lose in the first playthrough, and you're gonna get another chance at your next playthrough - the reason was because at your next playthrough both of Riki and Rin stats was kept from the previous playthrough (Like NG+). Anyway, have fun.

The baseball game is unwinnable at first, i think after 5 endings your characters will be OP enough to win it with the right combo (Aka boost as much possible Kurugaya as possible, she does marvelly good.

Yeah, I don't think it's even possible to beat it on the first try.

I think I overall won it 3 times or so when I was playing the original fan-tl version.

so finished my first route <komari's route> and I have a few things to say

first off we never get to learn who kojiro is and what is his relation to komari, also why was kengo in the graveyard tho that may be answered in another route, also I'm pretty sure this is the first time I hear about rikis parents being dead, kinda suddenly dropped unto us with no buildup or even given much attention, about the route itself, I wish we had a bit more of a hint about what it might be, from what I recall there was only one scene mentioning she maybe having a brother, I don't really like komari but dam If it didn't tug a bit on my heart at the end there, also from what I was reading on the forums I was about ready to bet money that there was gonna be some time rewinding bullshit at the end <people saying riki and rin keep their stats> and I was expecting some sort of huge turnaround like I got in rewrite but nothing like that happened

also considering the pacing of the vn I find It hard to imagine where the H scenes would fit in, if you put them to early it would feel weird cuz they are not like a full on couple but if you put them later well... I think it would be weird as fuck banging a near catatonic komari

all in all a fun time but ma dick was not blown off as I was expecting tho to be fair I have been waiting for this vn to be fully translated for YEARS so my expectations were unrealistic at best

another thing I wanted to say that was on my mind was about the dialog between riki and komari in the climax.... how should I put this... it's interesting to me that the way riki was talking is exactly the way you would expect a teenager to talk, unrefined with commonplace words, struggling to find the best way to convey his emotions, feelings and thoughts but if you consider a vn to be a work of art I would expect the writing to be somewhat more refined, more delicate with fancy words, it's a case of realism vs "artistic value" and it was something that was on my mind that I wanted to share

I've finished Go! Go! Nippon! yesterday, I'm probably going to play through the whole Nekopara series now (all-ages edition). I've grabbed it on a Steam sale for very little money, I think it would creep the hell out of me as porn (I can't fight of the feeling that the premise is pretty much sexual slavery...), but in the cut version it should work fairly well as a relaxing cuteness-fodder. That's the kind of thing I like to watch/read when I'm depressed or under a lot of stress - now I've got a cold, so I hope it'll let me turn my brain off and smile towards the screen like a moron. ;p

By the way, coming back to Go! Go! Nippon!... Do people seriously like that game? I guess it has it's charm, but when I see it praised in serious ways and getting a 4-star review on Fuwa... Just WTF? Wasn't the actual storytelling in it like the most cringy, trope-ridden thing out there? And that protagonist...

Yoru Meguru, Bokura no Maigo Kyoushitsu (夜巡る、ボクらの迷子教室) is a big surprise! Probably the best game of this year if you ask me.

MUST TRY!!!

Very positive story, such a rarity. The last similar one is probably 遥かに仰ぎ、麗しの, and I think this one is even better because its narrative is very realistic. This one has great CV performance as well, good music, pretty much great all round.

The only downside is that personal routes are not as good as common route. Personal route story can be much deeper for each student, but I guess this is the first for this type of game released by softhouse-seal, so you can't complaint too much.

Again, MUST TRY!

It's not terrible, but something I would prob give a 6/10. It doesn't really feel like a VN, way to much infodumping.

Feels like someone tried to make a trollish documentary in a VN format.

Exactly, it's not really bad in what it tries to do, but I can't imagine taking it seriously as a VN. Or praising it as something more than a curious travel guide/digital trip thingy.

Still, a lot of people seemed to love literaly every aspect of it. :o It's also funny that a lot them say they've heard so many good things about GGN when I only heard that it's embarrassing as hell (that obviously skewed my perspective a bit, but I don't think it made a huge difference). I wonder where the difference in experiencing it lies. :P

The ppl doing that Ciel Nosurge Youtube Fantranslating thingy actually finished some time ago, a glorious 252 videos (~59 hours and 30 minutes) worth covering the story bits and not really the Ion dating sim bits because that's apparently the other 50% of the VN so who the hell wants to do another 250 videos xD.

I only read the Ciel Nosurge summaries back then before diving into Ar Nosurge but it's now been about 2 years since I've touched these things so I might just spend my winter break reliving this universe because man was this stuff enjoyable

In recent days, I finished two VNs :

- Chaos;Child : In a few words, and depsite a slow (and strange) start, It was great - an excellent "possible" sequel to Chaos;Head . At times It was almost as good as Steins;Gate (this true ending is just...awesome). Almost only...because the protagonist and main characters (with one notable exception) are not as good (on the other hand, I liked the "antagonist force" - NO SPOILER). And one of the character chapters is a bit weak (Hinae).

9/10. My VN of the Year. Probably.

- VOID is a short Crime/Spying OELVN. The characters (especially the side cast) and the story are globally too cliché (someone has seen too many episodes of Burn Notice :wahaha: ). Having said that, the Character Design is pleasant (Ciel and Julie are two dangerous cuties), the dark setting/atmosphere is cool and the True Route is interesting.

7/10

Could you elaborate a bit what's wrong with the protagonist? The one big problem with Chaos;Head for me was Takumi and judging by the tags the protagonist of Chaos;Child seemed to be almost the opposite, so I thought they learned from their mistakes created a much better protagonist this time. But I've now seen several comments that the new protagonist seems to be kinda... odd as well, and I'm getting a bit of a deja vu feeling of 'not again'. So is this another case of an absolutely unbearable protagonist who only people can stand with almost divine tolerance levels?
