What are you playing?

P.S. are you back again Taigo?

I am, for most intents and purposes, although not all of them, back again! Glad to see you, too.

...

And the name's Tiago.

Moving on to the true route!

On a side note, the rich guy who fell in love with you Bad End is incredibly tragic. I really love that guy's dedication. :'(

Agreed.

I personally just finished Majikoi S and A route of Majikoi that i just felt like.

The went on to nekopara vol 0 and I am now going on to rereading Muv Luv Alternative before i go back to rewrite.

I am currently in a bit of a floaty mood which is leading me to reread and then abandon things half way and it is starting to get on my nerves.

I blame fallout 4 for that mood though.

And if i am making absolutely no sense whatsoever feel free to ignore me.

That kind of mood is entirely normal. When I've read too many VN's and I need a break, that starts happening to me. I start a bunch of VN's at the same time and end up not reading anything worthwhile. That's about when I decide to go watch anime or read manga instead.

While I do have a backlog of Deardrops and Lilium x Triangle I don't know how long I'll keep reading properly, but I fear it won't be too long until I'll need a break.

I just finished Kirara's route in KiraKira.

Damm please don't make me remember that route. I will just get mad again.

You guys dislike it for the exact reason I adore it.

No one spoiled me back then, so everything caught me completely off guard and I was blown away, by how well it was written and executed. I also completely disagree with "This ending doesn't fit with the rest of the VN", because everything was properly setup and the tone shifted accordingly.

I was shocked, but not confused or annoyed, which means it works.

I finally opened my Little Busters! box and I think that's probably what I'm going to end up starting today. It's really long though so I might just play a few hours of it and then go find something else to play. I'm honestly not sure that I'll like LB that much but I felt like I needed to read a Key piece at some point and I was able to get the physical copy of it.

I started playing Saya no Uta because to my knowledge it's short.

The beginning was rather creepy but well, the scene afterwards kind of destroyed the impact. It feels a bit too obvious that the MC (Fujimoto or whatever) perceives the world the way he does because of that experimental surgery. If the whole VN is like this, it'll lack the surreal, confusing atmosphere I was expecting. From what I have seen (I'm currently at the check-up scene) if the game tries to subvert this theory that the experimental surgery (or at least the accident) is the cause of the MC's warped world view it'll feel a bit too forced because of all the clues and details in the "talk in the cafeteria" scene (same dialogue, slime = spit, money leaving is the same (though I think there was one extra line?) et cetera)

Still quite enjoyable so far!

The whole warped perception of the world thing is just the setting. It's just the setup, not really the actual story - I think what you get at the beginning is as much info on it as you're really going to get in the entire VN, the focus is somewhere else entirely.

I hope you enjoy it, Saya no Uta is one of my favourite VNs!

Been playing Little Busters! for the last 5 hours apparently...it's actually surprisingly good so far and the whole aphorisms part had me cracking up so hard. I put it down for now because I was in the living room and my whole family is watching tv and trying to talk but I'll definitely curl up in bed with it again tonight.

And just finished Harumade, kururu. This VN is a fine example of why even if you are going to rely on different genres, you absolutely need great comedy and likeable characters as well - that is to say, this VN is an example of how to do it perfectly well. :D HaruKuru puts you through 15 (yes, 15) h-scenes before it even gets to the real plot - and you know what? I've thoroughly enjoyed all of them. If Makina's h-scenes in GnK were funny, HaruKuru's are hilarity incarnate. I haven't laughed this much in quite some time, and on porn at that.... well played Watanabe, well played. :D Of course, the hard sci-fi is amazing when it comes to it, but the less you know about that the better - there's enough spooky foreshadowing in the harem prelude to give you an idea of what might be coming, and looking for those is incredibly fun. Overall, a 9/10 from me, it was an incredibly satisfying experience.

What do I read now, though...? Is it finally time I catch up on the MajiKoi hype?  :wafuu:

My opinion of Creepy Teacher Simulator.exe aka Canvas 2 went up a notch. I remembered someone (Decay...? I forgot, sorry ;-; ) praising Tomoko's route when I complained about the VN in the past. So yesterday I thought: "eh, why not" and marathoned it.

Surprise, surprise: A very enjoyable read, solid through and through. I don't regret being sleep deprived now. And speaking of not going to sleep, I pondered about Tomoko's voice for quite a while, until it hit me during the sex. Over the head. With a figurative phone pole.

That's quite an impressive range, even though it immediately falls apart whenever a script asks for "nyaaaah!?" or *moaning*:P

I didn't actually like Tomoko's voice a lot of the time but sometimes it was pretty good. But yeah, her seiyuu has some good range. She also voiced Kokoro from Majikoi, and it's normally an ear-splittingly shrill voice but every once in a while you'll hear Michiru from Grisaia in there and it feels strange because it's otherwise completely different.

Reading through Hanachirasu, I seriously underestimated this VN. Akane might already be one of my favorite protagonist and the battles, although heavy to read, are really interesting. I've never been this captivated by fights in a VN, it also teached me some fun stuff which is great.

Some more impressions about Saya no Uta

Half the soundtrack sounds like perfectly serviceable Pink Floyd intros. One in particular sounds like Hey You.

I just met Saya. I know that the game has twisted sex scenes (and something about a car accident when I stumbled on a VN entry in a fucking Turkish gaming magazine which got me so stumped that I involuntarily read the first few lines) and fuck this shit could get weird real fast.

I found that I like the art style. Reminds me of something...

And if my little sister wasn't blasting scummy pop music from her iPod three meters from me the game could be much more immersive >_>

update:

I shouldn't have been playing this in the living room

that CG came out of fucking nowhere O_O

Also good job on creating this amazing atmosphere (also the BGM sounds like Welcome To The Machine now)
