Hmmm...I usually use walkthroughs in order to save time and get 100% completion, but if you insist that it'll ruin the story, I'll consider not using one.  I haven't spoiled the plot by using one so far, but I'll take your word on it.

I'd take Vovoca's advice on this. I'm the type of guy that uses walkthroughs to save time as well, but Saya only has two scenes with choices in them, and it's incredibly obvious which one you want to go with. The first set of choices will lead to a bad end, or continue the story. The second set will determine the route you go on. Once you've chosen your second choice, that's literally it!

But really, thinking of Saya no Uta as a regular guro title would be a shame. In the end, the grotesque setting is just the means to tell the story, which'd be a shame to miss out on in my opinion. Well, I'm not sure how much enjoyment you'd get out of i after having spoiled the whole thing, but since it's much more about the journey rather than the ending, I'd say it still holds plenty of value. If you ever feel like reading something short, definitely give it a shot - unless you hate horror stories, that is.

I just like to discover the structure (and routes) of the VN on my own. Those are usually just small details, but I like to go into VNs blind. If you feel like that doesn't matter much or that bad ends are a pain, by all means go with the walkthrough. :)

The thing with Cross+Channel is that it is quite reliant on the ero thanks to the main character. That made it incredibly hard to get into for me at first - the first impression is very off-putting to say the least, if you don't like nukige - but at least there is a plot-related reason for it. It's no Fate/stay night-like afterthought, but they probably could've done without the extremely long h-scenes too. The important fact is that they're in there - you can skip the contents itself without losing much, I think. I did the same too. I suppose they just skip the h itself in the console version? I'm just curious how they go about it.

See, I spoiled it for myself because I naturally have a ridiculously strong gag reflex, and from the synopsis I read, I'd either get really grossed out or have the joy of getting to vomit if I read it.  I don't hate horror in itself, but man, I'm pretty sure Saya no Uta would be pushing the limits for me.

Actually, I like the bad ends, at least if they're done well.  That's part of the reason I use walkthroughs, actually; if I didn't, and just groped around blindly for each route and its bad end, I'd probably have to spend extra time replaying bits of it to get 100% completion.  I won't use a walkthrough for Cross Channel, though, don't worry about that.

See, I can deal with nukiges, I just don't particularly enjoy them.  I'm more of a story guy.  As long as it gets interesting at some point, I should be able to get through the nukige parts without quitting, and considering that the popular opinion is that it's not crap, I think it's safe to assume it does get interesting.  As for the console port...I guess?  I mean, they're making Kajitsu all ages, and nobody thought that was gonna happen.  I'm still amazed that they're making an all ages version of Amane's route.  How is that gonna work without h-scenes?  xD

We were actually talking about Cross Channel :P  I had brought up Saya no Uta from another conversation, and joked about the possibility of an all ages version being released in the future.  I have too weak a stomach and too strong a gag reflex to comfortably play Saya.  Comes from being born prematurely.

I'm currently playing Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo's fandisk Sharin no Kuni, Yuukyuu no Shounenshoujo. (Whew. That was a lot to say.) I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed in the epilogues, especially since most of the scenes are more of a "slice of life" piece rather than anything to do with character development. However, it's still nice to see more of the characters. I've recently finished Dangan Ronpa, which I'm glad that I did. There were so many spoilers here and there that it's not even funny. ,_,

Flutterz told me that the guy that TL'd it only really worked on Houzuki's chapter, and just used a machine for the rest, since it's pretty much just fanservice.

I mean, they have an h-scene for the girl Special High Class Individual cadet that got killed in the beginning of Sharin. Why? No real reason.

I started on Sachi's chapter, and it made me want to hit my head against a wall.  The grammar was that bad.  That's why I switched to G-senjou.  Apparently Houzuki's chapter is the only one worth reading, according to most of the people that read it that I talked to.

Houzuki's chapter is pretty much the game itself. He's easily the best character in both games, and I find his philosophy very interesting. As for the epilogues, I think it goes without saying that they don't have a lot of interesting content, even without the grammatical errors. You can pretty much tell that it's not that great.

Yeah...but geez.  I'm fine with hearing bad English, it's just...reading it for twenty minutes starts to drive me insane.  I seriously started to have trouble even understanding what the characters were saying anymore.  I liked Houzuki a lot too, but honestly, he's tied with

Troll Queen Ririko

for the title of My Favorite Character from Sharin no Kuni.  Easily one of the best VN villains so far, though.

By the way, does anyone know what the song is called in G-senjou that sounds like it has clapping in the background, and is pretty fast-paced?  I tried finding an OST playlist on YouTube, but two of the songs had been removed, and I think that was one of them  :/  I can't get access to the BGM list through the VN itself, so I can only listen to it when it naturally plays in the story.

YES.  Oh my God, thanks.  Guess I should've looked at more than one G-senjou OST playlist, but I got lazy, and I didn't want to search each and every song from the OST on YouTube until I found it.  You probably saved me about 10-15 minutes of searching.

No problem. I happen to still have G-senjou no Maou on my HDD since I'm planning to re-read the true route later. Beside, that OST was happen to be one of my favorites OST from G-senjou (that clapping and the sound of clock ticking was awesome) so it instantly came to my mind when you describe it. I remember I listen to this song for at least 30 minutes after I finish the true route.

Hate to ask another question, but does anyone know who Yuki Tokita's VA is?  I'm about 99% sure that she's the same VA that voiced Touka's mother, Kyouko, in Sharin.

It looks like her real name is Hitomi, but she used the name Hokuto Minami for G-senjou. Also, Kyouko's seiyuu is Sakurai Harumi, who also voiced Yuri from Angel Beats! and Lisanna from Fairy Tail. Also, I accidentally clicked the like button if you're wondering.

Looks like she wasn't in Sharin, although she's been in a ton of other stuff.

Darn.  Guess that 1% won out in the end  xD  Pretty strange though, she sounded exactly like Kyouko's VA for some of her lines, at least to me, anyway.

Aaaaah, I was wondering why I got a random like.  I didn't think I'd posted anything like-worthy lately  ^_^  Weird that she only goes by one name.  You'd think they'd list her full name in the credits, as long as she didn't ask people to use a pseudonym, but I guess not...

EDIT: Just officially got locked in to Kanon's route.  Liking it a lot so far; it seems to have more intrigue and crazy plans than Tsubaki's, which makes sense considering that it's farther into the story and all, but still.  Kanon is as adorable as always, so that helps.

I refuse to let an inaccuracy pass by me!

I'd read the hell out of a Capt route.

There is, it's untranslated, sorry no ero scenes  :P

Capt's route, has been translated on a youtube playthrough. If you so wish, you could read it. The same thing for Agave's route.

There is currently no game patch for them, however.

Good deal. I've been reading it for a couple days myself. Kanon's route is pretty interesting.

Today is the day - I've finished Muramasa. :D Damn that was long... and amazing! I was a bit torn at first, because some of the scenes I wanted to see were skipped for pacing reasons, but once again they got me with the epilogue. They really know how to end their stories - a well earned 10/10 from me, an absolute must read.

As for what's next... Finally Unfortunately my curiosity has won over my sanity and I've picked up euphoria. I'm no fan of nukige, and definitely not torture porn, but I just have to see how bad it can really be. I've also heard the story is good, so that's about my only hope going into this - I wonder how far I can make it!

Right now I'm starting to read Little Busters! Let's see how that goes.

Are you planning on reading the fandisc of Muramasa (http://vndb.org/v4707) in the future?
