New "Loli/Shota" Policy & Details

Recommended Posts

I have read every post but I still fail to understand one thing, guess I have a low attention span.

Can we not talk about loli's even in "What Anime/Manga are you Watching/Reading now?" threads? I get no saying I want to bang x, no sexualized pictures, no NSFW pictures. etc. But can we still talk about loli's if they are an intricate part of the media we are taking part in, just as we would a vn?

What anime are you watching that is trying to bang a loli? As the only change in rule was no discussion of sexualising lolis.

Also Steve, I am on vacation so no can do.

Okay, either I understood the policy change completely out of my ass or this is completely wrong. Tay explicitly stated that there was a legal side to this case related to the server host as well as sexualized (drawn) images of underage girls being downright ILLEGAL in some countries if I am not mistaken, and that's why this change had to absolutely be made: For the future and safety of this forum.

Tay can say whatever he want.  That doesn't make whatever he says true.  Has he listed any laws being infringed?  Any relevant sources?  Any discussions (or terms of service) with the server hosts saying that the site would be dumped if it didn't meet X and Y conditions?  Sexually explicit images and descriptions are the only outlawed types of content that are relevant here, to my knowledge.

I don't know about you, but I don't accept things as true just because others tell me so.  People have agendas, they misinterpret information, they make decisions based off of incomplete information.  Happens all the time.

Edit: Also this avatar switching nonsense among moderators and administrators is distracting and in really poor taste.  It's time to act professionally for a bit.

But yeah, Aaeru would be so happy to see that even text form of speech is being censored now VUCgNOx.png

Aaeru was a naive, young lady who couldn't predict the consequences of her actions. She got chased off the internet because everyone admired her "logical" nature. Keep bringing her up, and I'll keep laughing.

This is off-topic but I gotta agree with this.

A host not wanting to host sexualized stuff about underage people does make sense to me (not saying I agree)

So from a common plebeian like me what i got was that,i cant post loli pics with explicit content(which we previously couldn't it seems), or talk  sexually about lolis(like we also kinda couldn't do)

This got pretty serious  from a policy that was already kind of implemented

Thou i don't like restriction of speech . i am not idealistic enough to go on a rampage if there are being legal problems over this. Not that a lot has changed

Ill accept it like the nice little citizen i am, and hope this will prevent legal problems that could compromise the site ^_^

You dont have all the information either. So your whole opinion is based off incomplete information. Your agenda is self promotion. Your decisions here are based off that. And don't assume everyone loves to see threads like the one you posted. It got downvoted to oblivion over on /r/visualnovels.

Not downvoted.  A moderator requested that I repost it on /r/eroge for unspecified reasons and shadowbanned the original.  Unlike you, I actually research these laws.  My guess is I know more about these laws than Tay--perhaps even Fuwanovel's ruling coalition--since I've been arguing this issue for over a decade now.

You live in America. Fuwanovel is not hosted in America.

Avatar switching, get over it. This is FuwaForums son. The exact opposite of professional.

As the professionally professional man I am, I am posting, off-topic, emphasizing this point and informing everyone that this thread should be read with a proper ost, like http://loli.dance/

So, if literally nothing has been changed, may I ask why the mods had to make such a huge deal about this topic? Though i'm guessing it had to do partly

with the PedoSim from yesterday, and certain peoples responses to the thread.

It's not that nothing has changed, it's that is a change so small and minuscule that it will not affect nearly anyone, but will nonetheless generate controversy as you may have noticed.

People need be properly informed.

The issue was inflammatory language and the game was a porn game.

Implying the vast majority of vn's aren't actually eroge. And even if you have nukige in mind, those games are still considered vn's as well; the only difference being impact on their sexual content, instead of writing. In other words, not the best kind of argument.

Sexual images are banned, check. No problems with that. I see the rules stated on the first page too. For me it is nothing out of context.

But what I am afraid of is mods being inconsistent about what is unacceptable and acceptable. A lot of moe pictures could per definition for someone be offensive but for someone else nothing special even though they are acceptable according to the rules. How should the mods approach this?

The drawback to what happened is that there's a certain risk the new rules might be pushed and enforced in way, which might be perceived as throttling; it's preety much going to depend on whichever mod acts as a mediator and whatever subjective opinions he/she has. People can't really act in an objective manner.

So far people have tried to rationalise the situation and give solid facts, however it seems no matter what people wish to deconstruct anything. It is worth considering that no matter what the source was, the rule is now in effect and as such going forwards we will be acting in line with these.

Looks like the thread was closed to let people cool down.

@Sanah -- You very likely do know more about these laws than I do, that's why I consulted a lawyer. I do respect you, Sanah, and I understand why you'd want more information. As I said in the OP, there were two purposes for this change: 1) I was advised to make this change to protect the site and its EU staff, and 2) this issue is like a hydra, and it's sucked hundreds of hours away which could have been much better spent working on the site and/or tools. Those two facts, compounded, catalyzed the decision. I'm not interested in making a moral point with this policy, just as I'm not willing to risk the site for this issue. Hope that helps.
