Fuwanovel "Like" Stats

But since you're crawling you should already have Information like thread ID (it's in the URL), post ID (linked in the upper right corner of each post) and user ID anyways, so dumping by that info shouldn't be an issue.

I'm lazy and I didn't save the full data I got, just the stuff I wanted. :P

But yeah, it's not particularly hard to get the thread ID, and the rest of the stuff I already have.

I'm going to steal your fun and do this before you Fufufufufufu.

Incoming edits when I finish.

Average number of likes per liked post: 1.543

Most liked people:

  1. Nosebleed: 2470
  2. OriginalRen: 1173
  3. Flutterz: 1125
  4. SolidBatman: 956
  5. Ouraibaa-Hjyuraa: 942
  6. Tay: 849 (only included because its Tay)

Most generous likers:

  1. Stray Cat: 1013
  2. Eclipsed: 864
  3. Tiago: 854
  4. LiquidShu: 804
  5. Krill: 755
  6. Tay: 656 (Surprisingly only included because its Tay)

Like Karma: Likes Given - Likes Received, a measure of who whores the most likes if you will.

Like Karma, Top 5:

  1. LiquidShu: +684
  2. Krill: +539
  3. Suzu Fanatic: +320
  4. Silvz: +316
  5. Stray Cat: +315

Like Karma, Bottom 5:

  1. Nosebleed -2252
  2. Original Ren: -945
  3. Ouraibaa: -884
  4. Flutterz: -832
  5. Down: -523

From this point on, Nosebleed becomes a massive outlier, so he got removed from all the charts, otherwise they would be kind of silly.

Likes Given vs Likes received:

and now on a log scale which sort of cleans things up a bit, as they tend to do with erratic data sets:

5df1b87665.jpg

Likes per day:

634f804a47.jpg

Someone else can find the retention rate of users and compare it to this, this data set and excel makes it a pain to find them.  Like it makes my head hurt trying to even come up with an efficient way to sort through this data to do it.

The bold text is all that matters:

Okay, so I had to write a separate program to do this because it was easier than figuring out how to do it in a spreadsheet, but here are some stats about "like pairs"

If this wasn't entirely useless to the site goals I SO would make this using our database instead of crawling... but damn those statistics. :Kappa:

We've all had someone "like" one of our posts, but have you ever wondered if anyone has ever, like, like-like "liked" your post?

I've stared at this sentence for at least a minute now, and I still don't understand what you are asking.

"Like" inflation is totally a thing. I remember when I was first active here during the spring and summer of 2013 and people hardly ever "liked" anything. That just wasn't a thing back then. Maybe if you helped a mod or an admin when they requested for something, but that was about it. The only way to communicate if you liked what somebody said was by replying to their post. Other wise you had no idea whether people really cared about what you said.

I went on basically a year long hiatus after that and returned during summer of 2014, and suddenly people were actually "liking" things. And I discovered this related to the Fuwa reputation thing. When I returned my reputation was really really low compared to newer users. Simply because the newer users joined at a time when "liking" was something actually done. Somehow I climbed my way up to the "FuwaAwesome" status with over 200 likes. That certainly was a journey.

Where's the fun in doing things the boring way? :P

Pure. Fucking. Gold. I died.

He was also initially in the "Least noticed by their senpai" list, but I removed him since he was only there because I didn't bother to make a separate case for when both the liker and the likee are the same person. The program thought that Kaguya gave Kaguya 124 likes, but Kaguya gave Kaguya 0 likes, making the difference 124, which isn't entirely correct.

I've stared at this sentence for at least a minute now, and I still don't understand what you are asking.

"Has anyone, like(interjection), like-like (really like/love) "liked" your post?"

"Has anyone "liked" your post because they really like/love you?"

"Has anyone, like(interjection), like-like (really like/love) "liked" your post?"

"Has anyone "liked" your post because they really like/love you?"

Personally likes are more attributed towards the quality of the post themselves - I'm more likely to like something by a good friend/someone I'm attracted to, but rarely are those emotions the only factor in liking a post or not.

Doing my personal analysis now; what is the 2nd column about? most of the numbers are 1 and 2.

It's the like's ID within the post. If a post has 1 like the like will have an ID of 1, if it has 2 likes their IDs will be 1 and 2, etc.

Personally likes are more attributed towards the quality of the post themselves - I'm more likely to like something by a good friend/someone I'm attracted to, but rarely are those emotions the only factor in liking a post or not.

Don't read too much into it, I was just trying to use the word "like" as many times in a row as possible.

Although that's exactly what I was talking about, you're more likely to "like" a post by someone you like, whatever kind of like it may be, which becomes visible only when you look at the big picture. If you look at a single "like" you can't get much out of it, but if you see someone "like" someone else's posts a surprising amount, you can draw some conclusions. For example, if you just see Lewy "like" Emi's post you'll think "well, I guess he liked Emi's post", but when you see that "likes" from Lewy to Emi are by far the single most common "like" vector, you might think something else. :Kappa:

Thanks, this clarification was actually helpful. That's what I thought you were communicating, but I wasn't certain.

Statistically that means that you must have, like, like-like "liked" me, and statistics never lie! (just don't check maefdomn's status) :makina:

I do believe this is a classic case of the Simpson's Paradox in action is it not?
