The final leap towards virtual reality - Oculus rift at E3 2015

You guys may already know the Oculus rift. Now we know even more about the consumer version of the rift. Just watch it:

2015 E3 Oculus Rift

I'm so hyped right now. Well, I've been actually riding the hype train for some time now, considering that I already have the DK1 and DK2 of the rift. But what's coming upon us will change gaming fundamentally. A VR MMORPG where you don´t control your character via a classic gamepad, but with your real hands (go to 45:00 of the video), is not just wild fantasy anymore. A VR MMORPG where you don´t simply watch your character on a screen, but where you are your character, actually looking, walking, and exploring through another world.

Goodbye, reality :D

Sorry to be that guy, but I'd rather not buy a virtual reality product from a company that's now owned by Facebook.  inb4 several minutes of personalized, 3D ads about getting porn game peripherals to "enhance your gaming experience".

I'm also no friend of Facebook, but since it won't affect your VR experience, I don't care. There won't be any intrusive fb ads or the need to have a fb profile.

I was kinda joking, but still, I really don't like Facebook, and I don't like Palmer Lucky or his business decisions, so I will never be getting an Oculus Rift.  Doesn't mean I won't appreciate virtual reality if it actually turns out to be good this time, and not absolutely terrible like the Virtual Boy.

Frankly if Facebook posted what I played on it. I'd probably just start lovestreaming all my nukige adventures.

People actually need to use the term "lovestream" when they livestream nukige.

i think it's too early, we know it has problems (like carma moving a lot, 3d looks bad, etc.) it looks more like "give us your money for better research" kinda thing than "we know how to fix it but won't spend money on a risky game". just remember a game needs to be good in order for people to like VR no mass amounts of updates will fix a bad game.

People who went to E3 this year are saying the 3D looks fine. I have actually heard a lot of very positive talk about the Rift and VR in general from people who were previously very down on the idea. The technology actually is coming together and has made some huge improvements from where it was at a couple years ago when dev kits were first shipping.

If they fix the motion sickness issues that the Oculus currently causes to a lot of people after prolonged useage, I might consider.

They need to make sure they get some depth in there, otherwise it's just like bringing a screen really up close to your eyes which is not so practical in the long run.

That and catgirl simulator pls.
