Increasing the activity of the Fuwanovel Steam Group.

I see a lot of the regular members of Fuwanovel that play PC games are in the stream group. The thing I do not see though, is any activity. People can post a reply up on the forums asking for people to play, but nothing ever goes on here. With visual novels becoming more of a thing on Steam I would like to see the Fuwanovel Steam Group become more active. By that I do not mean we up and leave the forums and start posting everything video game related here, rather do more events, maybe become a curator, and spread the love of Fuwanovel on Steam.

We already have Fuwa reviews and what not on the main site, but I am going to assume the majority of people on Steam do not know what visual novels are. While if someone sees say Grisaia on Steam and clicks it, it could be their first introduction to visual novels. They either want to learn more, but don't know where to look, maybe get the wrong information and some biased answers, or just skip it completely. Some one transferring the reviews from Fuwa and making them accessible on Steam for people to see seems like a good idea to me. There may be other groups already doing that, as I am sure there are, but they aren't Fuwanovel!

The next point I would like to address is Fuwanovel Steam Group events. A lot of us seem to play a majority of single player games and while there is already a Fuwa Game Club every month on the forums nothing goes on within the group. With some members of the community playing multiplayer games I think events could be a fun way to bring the community closer together, or farther apart if you are that competitive of a player. The kind of events could range from CS: GO customs with silly rules, Left 4 Dead 2 versus, Fighting Games, Civ V get togethers, anything really.

Another thing I didn't bring up in the first paragraph is trading. Now there are a lot of trading groups on Steam and some of you may already be members of some. I intend to level my profile mainly through badges, but as you may know that can cost a lot if you don't have people to trade with. Maybe the Fuwanovel Steam Group could also be a hub for Fuwans to trade their goods to and fro, or maybe even showcase mods, skins, etc.?

What do you guys think? Even though this is a Fuwanovel group and the availability of the website is more convenient, I still think showing some love on Steam wouldn't be a bad thing. I was about to go to bed and I checked my Steam profile and saw a lonely Fuwanovel group and came up with some on the spot ideas. I would imagine it needs more thought, and feedback, so I did a post here and on the Steam group. Good night, morning, or afternoon Fuwa goers :)

Well the "problem" I see with this is that people use other ways to chat. For example in skype we have a small Civ5 group we use to gather and make games. People just get used to one way of "socialising" and it becames difficult to change it.

I, for one, never used the steam group chat feature so I don't know how good or bad it is, but since I'm already on several fuwa skype groups, like FSG itself, the karaoke and other smaller sub-groups that pertain to specific activities and/or games, using skype is more convenient to me.

However I am up for anything, I am already part of the "unofficial" group so I see no harm in joining one which would have activity.

Hmm, that does seem like an issue. However, the Steam group would ideally be more than "Hey let's go play and talk in group chat". Involving reviews, trading, and showcases for the community who do use the full extent of Steam's features. Reminders for events would also be sent to the user's Steam, instead of double checking Skype, which in all honesty I do not care for as a messenger.

As I said I'm up for using any tool there is, but I'm not so sure about other people, we just need to wait and see I guess

Wait and see indeed. In all honesty I do not see many people jumping on the idea, as it would be done already if people would. I just thought I would share my thoughts about it and see what happens.

Steam? Fuwanovel? Games? People? Chat?

Oh yes. Lovely.

I shall bestow upon you all the extent of my suckage.

I'm most certainly interested in something of this sort.

Why have I not heard of this? My ears are not vigilant enough, it seems.

Haha just gone and fixed it. Also added some new forums based on the nice feedback. If anyone has any ideas, happy to take them on board. Looking into promoting some people who wish to recommend some games and can write solid reviews so we can get the 10 games for curator.
