FuwaHistory Series: Recounting the birth and tribulations of a Fuwa nation

Not that I recall. If I'm not wrong, you're referring to a time where Steve was having an argument with other staff members, notably Ryoji, and wasn't an admin (since Tay and Ryoji were both around). That is when there was a big argument about posting loli porn on fuwanovel.

Besides, you know who was our host at the time, so you know that we could have littered the forum with porn and be okay with it.

Board Mods.

The 1st generation was born in October of '14 and consisted of 15 Elite Soldiers (Board Moderators) tasked with guarding their designated boards with all of their might under the leadership of the 4 Heroes of Fuwanovel (Global Moderators). In addition, they were also to work together to collaboratively brainstorm ideas to improve the forums.

Then came The Darkness: a horribly destructive, amoral force whose sole purpose is to destroy the 'needless' and the 'pointless'. Many Board Moderators perished as a result of that terrible war.

By the time Archmage Tay and his Global Moderators were able to combat and finally seal away The Darkness in April of '15, only 6 Board Moderators survived in the end to continue the fight for truth and justice in the world of Fuwanovel.

*The most powerful Board Moderator of them all was Tiagofvarela. During a pivotal moment in the battle against The Darkness, Tiago had ascended into a Global Moderator-hood, though by the end of the war even he was overwhelmed, stripped of his powers, and perished.

**Tiago was later revived by Archmage Tay as a Think Tank Ranger.

FuwaHistory Episode 3: The Blood War - A tale of the eternal struggle between Law and Chaos

Also changed the thread title to invite more contributions like this.

Further reading on the original Blood War:

In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy roleplaying game, the Blood War is an eternal conflict between the fiends of the Lower planes. The Tanar'ri are the demonic forces of the Abyss, an evil plane of chaos. Representing the equally evil but lawful realm of Baator are the Baatezu, the dominant caste of devilkin. Neutral evil Yugoloths play both sides against the other. The Blood War has raged on since the Age Before Ages, a dark period when the Prime Material Plane had not fully developed. The conflict is massive, spanning entire planes of reality, and hosting an immeasurable number of fiends.

Moderators throughout the ages

Disclaimer: if this text is written like shit, it's definitely on purpose. Really. Not because I can't be arsed to make correct sentences.

I shall not speak of the generation of moderators that existed before mine, as I only know about it through a few recitals. However, names such as meru, zhurai or harry_kinomoto may evoke something to some of you. The latter is known in the ancient tales as "Tay's archnemesis", and it is said their debates were the kind that moved powers and forces beyond our comprehension. Beato is, with Tay, the last of those staff members who lived in that era.

In any case. As the little fuwanovel community was growing, and some of the aforementioned moderators had to leave, a need arose for new, fresh recruits. Two of the admins of the then ruling Aaeru/Tay/Ryoji triumvirat set upon finding the chosen ones.
Thus on the 30th of March 2013 I'm old halp a whole four members entered the staff.
Steve is said to have been chosen because upon seeing the gigantic walls of text he wrote and the passion he displayed in them, Tay and Ryoji thought he must be a man of great wisdom.
Luch is said to have been chosen because upon seeing that he seldom spoke any words, Tay and Ryoji thought he must be a man of great wisdom.
Down is said to have been chosen because he helped some dude to install Tsukihime and somebody was needed to take care of the Tech Support section. My personal theory, though, is that Tay and Ryoji saw in him a man of great wisdom.
Solidbatman is said to have been chosen... eh... nobody really knows. He doesn't seem to know either.

Did you know that batman was actually an admin for some time? I think he only reluctantly accepted the position, and he only lasted a month or two. It must have been not too long after his becoming a moderator.

A few months later, our ranks were increased by Kendjin. It is said that Tay thought teaming up Kiritsugu and Archer together would definitely win the Holy Grail War, and that using it we would finally make visual novels popular in the West. I think he should re-read Heaven's Feel, he must have been too busy caring about Sakura and overlooked a few details about how the Grail works.

Things didn't move much until November 2013, when once again the community had become larger and the moderators had become fewer.
Nosebleed is said to have been chosen because upon seeing how many posts he had accumulated in such a short time, he thought making him a mod would prevent him from being a spammer. I guess even the archmage's sagacity sometimes fails him.
Kaguya is said to have been chose because upon seeing how many visual novels he had played, Tay thought that person must have reached enlightenment through playing porn games, a method described in a sacred manuscript called SuhaBibi (that sounds really buddhist, doesn't it?)

After that, some moderators quited or faded away, the event of Steve's access to adminship took place as mentioned in an earlier post, but until the advent of the board mods & global mods era, no new members joined the team. This is where History with a big H stops and where history with a small h begins.

HA! Welcome to Hell! BWAHAHA

There there...

Lack of denial will therefore be taken as admittance.

Because I never post off topic, I find the idea behind this thread to be stellar. What better way to read about Fuwa History than to parodize (as in, a likely made up word for 'make a parody of') it?

Assuming this is what you would call a parody. I lack a proper definition, and at the moment, a proper brain.

Kags was made a mod before Nose and also before Steve took temporary Marestodianship of the site. Tay actually announced it at his now long-forgotten state of the union thingy in Skype (and a million things that have either just happened a mere two years after or still haven't happened).

He talked on Skype a lil bit as well back then. He is a he.

EDIT: as for my own little FuwaHistories, this would be it. I spotted some missing words and other writing problems in that one when I read through it now, such hazukashii T_T

I think I remember the Steve and porn incident and remember that it was when he was an admin (however this was not that much of a great calamity , just a misunderstanding or so I see it) but then again my memory isn't tbat great , rly.

Also I might have always assumed that Steve quit Fuwa because he was getting tired of trying to assist and argue for the sake of Aaeru's believes of anti-copyright thingy. I was never able to bring up the courage to ask him in his ts thou sadly and I don't think I will ever do that.

Also I always thought it was a bad idea to remove licensed torrents let alone all torrents and thought fuwa would die after it and even hated Tay's ruling and hoped Steve would still rule Fuwa. But now that fuwa turned out to be better than before, I will gladly say I was wrong... terribly wrong. Thanks, Tay. I really respect you.

FuwaHistory Episode 5: FuwaCapsule - Musings of the Fuwan Proletariat

If you or someone else could do a separate entry on the Fuwapocalypse (where the forums were taken offline and Aaeru disappeared), that would be great.  Other notable events include Steve's ascension to Godhood, and his subsequent fall during the Time of Troubles.  The Fuwan Civil War between the forces of Light (anti-piracy) and Darkness (piracy) warrants interest as well.

The preferred format is a synopsis or detailed account written with high fantasy overtones, together with links to primary source material on the topic (if available).

Steve got us flagged for pornographic content, but there weren't any big consequences coming from it. We were still on the old server, whose host prohibited pornographic content unless specifically paid for, so we straightened our policies on H and pornographic content. Steve fought tooth and nail not to change them and kept posting loli shit porn (it's a touchy subject regardless, but I've got zero tolerance when it comes to it, since it's illegal in Germany), kept posting them, and ultimately got under a lot of scrutiny, to the point where almost every post he made got reported. Guess he decided to quit after that.

The Fuwapocalypse in question happened when OVH took the server offline after Aaeru didn't pay for it, not because of Steve's posts, that one was just a coincidence.

And personally, anyone who was still trying to fight Aaeru's fight for her sake should've realized at that point that she gave up on the site long ago.

Feel free to copy and paste it somewhere and immortalize Aaeru's rant.

This is the video she posted in the article btw (web archive still had the ID but can't seem to embed it):
