Ashadow700
Hey everyone! I guess the title should explain itself. I'm a bit of a noob to visual novels, and it has been bugging me for a while that I have only been pirating them since I have had no idea where to buy them legally. So, do you have any suggestions for me? Also, I would have to import them since I know with complete certainty that there are no websites or stores that sell them in my country. Oh, and this is my first post on these forums. Nice to meet you all.
Down
Hm, I'm not much knowledgeable about this but you can read the relevant parts of this. Disregard the fact that it's from /a/, there are tons of useful info in it. To add to that, Aaeru mentioned using yokattaweb as a (reliable?) proxy service. Beato
AmiAmi is probably the easiest way. Though they don't usually have older titles in stock.
darkpheonix
If you know someone in Japan yu could buy them from Amazon.co.jp and make him send them back to you
Snowtsuku
Asking someone from JP is the best bet IMO.
Guest
Hey. I own 63 VNs all imports from japan. For almost all games, go to amazon.co.jp or Getchu.com, then find the link to the game you want, then email that link to http://yokattaweb.jp . they will then email you back with an invoice. Just follow the instructions from there. If you want tokuten, you have to select the right store that provides you with the desired goodies. Usually Sofmap has the best, but sometimes getchu and amiami has better. Tokuten is only a pre-orders thing. (w/ exceptions) Also note that sometimes these games are available as digital downloads. the prices for digital copies are sometimes quite unfair (given the competition). hunt them down on the developer's website usually. Gameliner.jp is one. http://www.gameliner.jp/ Theyre doing a 50% sale on all KID titles (ever17, remember11, never7) Also see relentlessness' blog http://www.relentlessness.com/blog/2011/11/a-guide-to-importing-japanese-merchandise-part-3c-video-game-shop-guide/ KnightFire
Eurobeatz
I've heard good things about Paletweb, but I haven't ordered from them myself.
