Has anyone played Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Revolution? I am in no ways a Naruto fan, but the graphics look good and the game play seems fun, plus it's $12 (75% off). Maybe someone could pick it up and play with me? :wafuu:

Sure. I love the Ultimate Ninja Storm games! I only have 8 or so hours into Revolution, since no one was really playing with me, but I played a ton of Full Burst on PC. I'm going to pre-order Storm 4 once I have the monies...

Heard the netcode is 50/50 which has me sad faced. How well does Revolution run online?

I rarely experienced much trouble, though I only played with two or so specific people. It doesn't have netcode like P4 arena or anything, but it's still decent.

You live in Cally right? If that is the case I don't expect much trouble then.

Nah, I live in Indiana kek. But regardless, it shouldn't be a problem. And you could always just refund the game if it's too bad.

Guess I could. Do refunds go to your steam wallet or back to your card?

You can choose to either have them go to your Steam wallet or to be refunded by whatever method you used to pay it with. Though keep in mind that you can only refund it if you have less than two hours of play time, and if it's within 14 days of purchase.

Hooked up my PS3 again and willing to play some P4AU Super scrub lord btw   @WinkBlinkel @Mugi

Also, WinkB do you have BB:CPE on PS4?

PSA: BB:CPE is $15 on PS4 and even cheaper on PS3/Vita until the 5th of January.

I'll play sometime after I actually try and learn the game. Doesn't seem to difficult though. Also i'd love to get CPE, but I don't have the money, and I need to save for the next Naruto game :amane:

Damnit, I keep mashing in every fighting game I play. I can't get any better like this, but I don't know how to stop..it just happens..

This is so frustrating

Training mode, hours and hours of training mode. I could never find the appeal in going into training mode for hours but now it kinda feels like playing the piano almost and it gives me a relaxed feeling.

Aside from that, I recommend checking out a e-book by Gootecks. IIRC, it's called something like Simplifying Street Fighter: A New Player's Guide. It's $5 and I am finding it extremely helpful.

Welp, spent a while in training with Adachi and have a decent combo down. But his mixups seem pretty weak, so i'm not sure how i'm going to get around that.

Practicing a bit of Chie myself and I find that I really do suck at fighting games LOL.

Doing j.BB > cr.A > cr.B > st.C > qrc.A > qrc.A > qrc.C. Just a simple bnb yet I find it troublesome. So, today I plan to go into training mode and do that for about an hour a day until I can pull it off both sides, no mistakes. I should probably look into safe zoning tools as well as DP's on her as well.

AHAH. PERSONA TALK. MY TIME HAS COME. I'm gonna spoiler tag stuff since this might go a little long.
SO. @Mugi in regards to Adachi:

In this version he relies heavily on status ailments and resets to make him a threat. At first it doesn't look like he has mixup, but keep in mind he's one of the few characters with a fast(ish) command grab, and even a Super command grab. Your goal is to make people scared that you're going to grab them, and then punish them for trying to hold up-back to jump away by tagging them with lows (Like his gunshot that goes super far!) or even using his 2C, which is air unblockable. His AoA also covers good range and can be used sparingly to catch people crouching. His DP is an overhead + low which is annoying to deal with.

Once you get the hang of playing him at a basic level you can get into really grimy stuff like unblockable ziodyne resets and other such mayhem. He's a scary character to fight against, but he does take a lot of work. To start out with, make sure you have some bnb combos you can confirm into from your ground hits, anti-airs, and maybe a high-damage punish if your opponent whiffs a super or DP. Try to calm down during actual matches and focus on your character's BEST normals. For Adachi, that means j.C BOYZ. His j.C is amazing, covers a ton of space, leads into his combos on hit, and even causes ground skid on CH. Try to avoid hitting buttons with long recovery like 5B or 5C when your opponent is out of range, or else you'll find yourself getting whiff punished easily. Adachi isn't the easiest character to start out with, but he is a lot of fun.

and @LiquidShu for Chie:

Chie is kind of sad in this version? In P4A, she was able to end combos with sweep and use 5D as oki, meaning when opponents got up from a knockdown they HAD to block the Chie blender. They took that out in Ultimax so now she's a lot less scary :c
You'll have trouble getting in, staying in, and opening people up. She heavily relies on stagger pressure since her 5A is super good. In general she has a lot of bad matchups, but she can still put in work if you know your combos. Her high damage stuff is pretty tricky, but is devastating when you have meter. She's a character who, with resources, can decide to kill you whenever she lands a decent confirm. Most people play Shadow Chie since it's a lot easier to get those resources. S.Chie can get 100 meter really quickly, and do things like (Shadow frenzy -> Power Charge -> Power Charge -> Power Charge -> Meteors -> God Hand) and it does a bajillion damage and is unburstable.

I think she's a good beginner character because she's straightforward (Get in their face, push some buttons!), but she requires a lot more work than, say, Narukami. Some of her strongest normals are 5A, 2A, 5B and j.C. Keep training in the lab! To get the most out of her, you'll have to learn to confirm into her damaging moves, like Dragon Kick and Godhand.

If you guys aren't using dustloop, make sure to give your characters' pages a look through. (Especially their move list!) The info isn't as up-to-date as I'd like, but it's a great place to start out. To be honest, I'm sort of a Kanji character specialist so he's the only character that I've written a full tutorial for, but I've dabbled with other characters and even won some local tournaments with a scrubby Narukami. If you're looking for a strong, easy to learn character Narukami is amazing. You only need to learn 2-3 combos and you're ready to go.

I don't netplay too often since there's an offline Persona scene where I live, but if you guys need help learning the game hit me up on twitter and I'll see if we can get some training set up online. Persona is the game that got me into the FGC, and I've made a lot of great friends through playing it so I'm always eager to help new people learn the game! :D

What's your twitter?

I would absolutely love to go to a local scene but I'm not sure of any around me. I am sure there are some in SF and neighboring cities but those are all 45 min - an hour away.

Also, do you have BlazBlue: CPE on PS3/4? Personally going to be buying that since it is on a massive sale, I have heard bad things about it but I don't mind all to much, GG isn't really for me. Nothing against the gameplay but the red aesthetic turns me off ;__; Super stupid reason, I know (and it's not on sale). Probably going to get it on PS4 since there is a higher chance my irl friends will get it on PS4 as well. Just not sure which scene is more active if that even matters.

I think you managed to find me since I think I followed you today? LOL. I have CP, but not CPE. I don't actually really play BB, just Xrd Ultimax and UNIEL. Plus if I wanted to play BB, there's a Central Fiction arcade cab at an arcade down here everyone goes to. As far as I know, it's the only BBCF cabinet in North America so everyone flocks to it.

I think most of the NorCal anime players are around San Jose? I went to Fanime last year and there were a TON of good players that I got to hang out with. Maybe look into Caliburst and NorCal Dogfight and see if either is near your area. I think those are the regular Monthly NorCal events.

Yeah, that was me.

Finally got Chie's JBB > 2A > 2B > C > 236A > 236A > 236C down. While I am not 100% consistent by any means I know the inputs my heart, and my timing is almost there, I can do it about 7/10 times, so not bad. Working on JBB > C > 236A > 236A > 236236D now. It doesn't have as many inputs as the first combo I learned but does about 25%, though it does use meter. The first combo did roughly 20%, IIRC, with out meter.

Also, I forgot, what's the difference between shadow and normal?

----------------

New combo I am attempting at, hardest one yet for shizzle:

C+D > OMC > 2A > B > JB < C > JB > C > 236C+D

Also, I forgot, what's the difference between shadow and normal?

Shadow characters are more offensively focused. They don't have a burst, or the awakening mechanic, but once they get 100 meter they can active Shadow Frenzy, which gives them infinite meter for a short time and lets them cancel special moves into other special moves. They also have a little bit more health and do a little bit less damage, but gain meter very quickly.

Because most characters can just burst the shadow frenzy combos in 1.1, the only "viable" shadow characters are the ones who's frenzy combos are naturally unburstable, like S. Chie, S. Mitsuru, and S.Naoto. Besides those three you don't see shadows played too often? Shadow Narukami is okay, but the lack of a burst makes them really unstable to play. In 2.0 they're getting totally revamped. In that version they'll have a burst, and activating shadow frenzy uses your burst instead of 100 meter.
